    Default Shutter Island

I read this book about a month ago and I want to reccomend it to everyone..

It is called Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane (author of Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone)

In 1954, two U.S. marshals investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on an island in Massachusetts. They run into trouble when they are deceived by others, a hurricane hits and when an inmate riot traps them on the island

The film adaptation has already completed production and will be released this Oct. The film is directed by Martin Scorcese and will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo as the two U.S Marshalls and will also star Ben Kingsley and Max von Sydow as Doctor's in the hospital.

It was an amazing book with an ending that will hit you at your core.. One of the best endings to a book I have read in a long time..

I cannot wait for the film..

make it your next read if you can..

    Glad you liked it.

Personally, I didn`t. Especially the ending that was really predictable.

But, I`m sure Martin will make a great film out of it.

The story, alas...well, a good read for the beach maybe...

I wonder if he can do anything close to Mystic again...

I've heard many people say it was predictable but maybe it was that I was so caught up in the story that I became a sort of vessel for Lehane and trusted him and in the end I was blown away... never predicted it at all, maybe cuz I really didn't think of it, or over analyze it..

it made the reading experience that much more enjoyable

I didn`t overanalyze it...it was just very obvious how it`s going to end.

But, to each thier own, right ?

Like I said, I am glad you liked it...

I thought the book was cool and I even enjoyed the movie a bit more. Two chapters into the book I had the ending pegged which kind of made me not enjoy the book as much.

Anyone ever see Gone baby gone? That was a damn good movie by the same author.
