    Hey folks,

This is my first post on here although I have been reading this forum for a while as a guest :P

Wendybird I think I know what you are going through. I have been avoiding reading the last book (although I had a marathon session on Saturday and now only have 200 pages to read!!) and I believe that it is for a number of reasons....

The main one being that I have been travelling with these guys for a good few years and although the journey has sometimes been hard I have come to think of them as my friends (and not in a weird I need to go out more sort of way ) I have laughed, cried and willed them on their way and I feel that if I finish the book then the journey is over

Good luck with finding the time to read let me tell you that you won't be disappointed.

    Cerr

You've come too far not to continue. Even if you only have the energy to read 5-10 pages a night, you'll pick up steam eventually as the tale reaches its conclusion. You won't regret it!

    Good luck!

The last book was definitely my favorite.
It's a good thing that there are basically 2 endings, a sentimental goodbye to the characters we love (one of the most touching things I've ever read from SK), and then Rolands ending. Uncle Steve gives you the option (and warning) to stop reading after the first ending, and in fact a friend of mine did exactly that, reading the first ending then putting it back on the shelf. I actually had to tell him what became of Roland.

Oddly, I actually felt liberated after finishing book 7. Reading the saga (including the tie-ins that I hadn't already read) consumed basically a year and a half. I loved the books dearly, but it was also nice to be able to move on.

I was sad too when the journey ended, but I was glad to reach the end of the series. It was bitter sweet. But I have all of the Tie-ins to read now. I also bought 2 reference books about the dark tower. I loved the characters so much that I went out and borrowed the DT audio books from the library to 're-live' the adventure. I never stop thinking about the characters in the DT either. They stuck with me. Definately do yourself a favor and finish up the series.

I understand! I've read the series 4 times, but the last book only twice. As much as I love it, I couldn't bring myself to read again the other 2 times!

I have just finished the entire series right up to page 812 of the 7th book. Because of problems with the binding of the book I am in a very unhappy condition while I wait to get another copy.
It will be sad when I reach the end of Dark Tower VII., but, there is no way that I could not finish this book!
Perhaps when you have more time to read would be best, because I could not put the book down.

I too didn't want to read the last book.

I never wanted the series to end.

Well the book is currently on the nightstand until I want to get back into it. Going to be too busy this week with the Grand National but I hope to get back into it soon.

    Will let you know!
