Now I have a bit more time on my hands I should introduce myself fully.
My name's Alan, 42 & married. I enjoy reading when I get the time (which doesn't seem to be much at the moment) although I am reading Time Line by Mr Crichton.
To keep up with my ingestion of material I listen to audio books for up to 8hrs a day while I am at work.
Having been a fan of SK for many years there are some of his works that I have struggled with, in fact put down\turned off and never returned to.
My likes encompass a vast range of writing styles and genre's that go from horror and murder mysteries through to sci-fi and factual stories.
My true love where books are concerned, is the wonderful world of the extended Star Wars universe. So rich and varied but with a common theme.
Outside of reading I enjoy computers, cooking, walking & photography with bouts of online gaming including MOHAA COD4+5 and the ilk.
Tried my hand at writing a few years ago, managed 30,000 words & got good reviews from the people I showed it to but it has sat on the back burner ever since. I think I need to have a long period of not working for me to get into and finish the book, who knows maybe a project for when I retire

I don't have time to post a lot, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the feedback. I know I have.
Welcome to the site alferret.
This is a wonderful site to show your creativity.
If you come across a copy of Stephen King On Writing, it would be worth picking up. It is an interesting book, not only for the writer--but also for the King fan.
Who knows maybe it will get your juices flowing and you will find the need to finish writing that book.
Good site to hear about authors ,etc. My circle of friends who read tend to read the same type of books. I'm getting tired of the same old, same old.
