Default Hello Dad-3 years RIP-and proof of KA & Destiny

hello all I made mention of this to some before but wanted to post it. Belief in God(s), destiny, fate for me this is proof of destiny.

My Dad was a big big American Irish guy very into Irish heritage, Hibernian (Irish clubs here in the USof A) and Marched most years in the NYC big St PAddy's parade. Looked up and spent years on his families history and connected with many of our family across the world. In good health generally for 77 year old.

He walked in the parade and did not feel good, he stopped and left his hibernian group... resting some.... than rejoined another Hibernian group -asking a younger guy if it was allright he marched with them--finished the parade with them and went with them to their Bus for the ride home to Long Island. he met some nice people who were very gracious to him.(anal he was and worried about being on a different bus headed to a different Hibernian location, afraid his family would worry about him, if he could get a ride back to the nassau chapter of Hibernians etc) a man comforted hm saying do not worry we will get someone to drive u home from suffolk to your groups lodge. Asked him if he wanted a beer etc...

He passed away of a massive heart attack rather quickly. Just before the bus was to leave Manhatten.. The bus driver was also a paramedic so i know he was gone quickly and unable to be helped.

Skipping some other details, things said, and things my father talked about with that man he met. this would be KA just on the fact my father passed on ST Paddy's Day after walking in the Parade. but the twist is in the man he met. As they pulled my dads wallet out for ID the younger man cringed in terror turning very pale white when they read the name..., he knew the name as it was the exact same name as a friend of his!

the Younger guy my dad hooked up with was my friend (Actual best friend of one of my best friends older Bro and a member of our Bowling Team for 10 years.. ) Due to that i Know what happened , My fathers last words, how he spent his last hours, what he talked about, ... and I got a phone call immediately, as i had cop friends I was able to get Hospital information that would have taken hours otherwise.

Jim called my friend George and I got his call and knew my father had passed.

For those unfamilar with The parade in NYC more than 2 Million attend--add in those who are working and the fact of all of them my father hooks up with a friend... well...what can u say... Ka is a wheel Where it will stop nobody knows.

So with a tip of my glass I will say hello to me DAD RIP 3-17-2006

PS - My daughter 10 at the time wrote this and read it at his gravesite when the Stone marker was put in a few months after his death:

    The Wisest person I know

Although he died months ago, my grandpa is still alive in my heart He was very gentle and sweet, and we all mis him so much. My Grandpa Iam so proud to call him my Grandpa, He truly is the wisest person I know.

I think he is a great wise person because he told me of all wonderful things. He told me of things I thought were useless and made tehm sound extroadinary. when I am older, If I am an Author, My first book will be about him and dedicated to him.

Yes my grandpa helped me with the problem of life. He guided me through it. He shoed me shortcuts, He told me what to do and what not to do. I fyou knew my grandpa you would know he is the wiset person we all know.

Everything happens for a reason....whether we understand them or even believe them....

Thank you again....for that story.....and I guess for a Hibernian of the Ancient Order....he passed on no greater day.....doing what he enjoyed....

What a blessing for you that he was with someone who knew you and could tell you about his last minutes here. And what a blessing for him to have left here after doing what he loved best. Many hugs, Dearheart.

    Hi,

Thankee for that great and very moving post, Richard.

My wife, Anne, also passed on St. Pat's, six years ago today, aged just 49, also from a massive heart attack.

    Long days and pleasant nights

Many hugs for you. It seems it always harder if the leaving of our loved one is marked by a big celebratory day, yes?

Ka is a wheel , for sure. Thank you for sharing. My feelings about my Irish grannie are close to what your daughter said about hers. I was 17 year old when she passed, i was always special to her, although i don't know why. i have 4 older sisters. I was always given gifts to and she always made me cake when i went to visit her. I miss her every day.

Thanks all for the kind words..... I could not have picked a better way I guess on how my Dad would have liked to die (circumstances, day etc)

So to all (later) I will raise a pint or 2 and say happy St Paddy's day...

JD-- so sorry for your loss on this day...
