Best rock band ever

Who would you say is the best rock band ever? I thought about giving a list to choose from but it would've had to be too long to fit on one page. So just list your favorite one or two. I'll go through them after a couple of weeks and report my findings.

My favorite would have to be the Beatles.

Woo, hard question, to narrow it down to just one.

But on balance it would have to be The Who, as each one of them was a virtuoso on their instruments, everyone could sing, they had one of the greatest songwriters ever (and the Ox wasn't bad either!), and a marvellous lead singer.

Many other candidates, and I love the Beatles but when John was asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world, he replied that he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles!

Close runners up would be The Band.

but for me Who do I think is the best?

3-ah 4 - Led Zepplin, Metallica and Tool and Queen

I lov the music and every album by these are gr8 IMO (well ST anger by MEtallica was not gr8-but it has grown on me mayhaps before its time-but they bounced back with
Death MAgnetic. Same for Zep COda not GR8 good. Tool--all gr8.

Queen was so good and unique.

I loved the Who too like John--but in collecting all their Studio Cd's-albums the earloy stuff is not that good IMO the whole albums i mean are lacking. (For me that is)

But they are up there for me as well

My favorite band ever is Genesis. From the Prog to the Pop, I love it all.
