    Default Act of Kindness

We are always being shown bad things on the news and hearing bad things on the radio. I know there are acts of kindness being done out there. When was your last experience or do you remember one you'd like to pass on?
I'll start: Thank-you goes out to Drawn to Ka-tet for sending books. She doesn't know me yet she didn't hesitate to do this kind deed. A very trusting person(Yes the M.-order is in the mail!)

I just found out that the kinda scary looking bus aide for my daughter's special needs bus asks my daughter , every morning , how she is doing and what she had for breakfast. Just a few days ago my daughter started to go on and on about 'Mike' and how he always asks her how her breakfast was. She was very happy about the whole thing. She loves routine and this little routine helps make her mornings happy. I had no idea. I can't really explain why this makes me tear up but it just seems really sweet. It is 6:45 when she gets on the bus- goodness- he must get on that darn bus by 6:00 AM...I appreciate the gesture so much!!

Several years ago, i was walking down town and found a wallet. Now have you ever been asked the question if you found a wallet with money in it what would you do? Of course being the good Christian that i am i called the fellow up and told him i found his wallet. It turns out he was in a wheelchair and was quite distraught over losing it. I'm glad i could help him out. I'm hoping it's one pt. towards opening the pearly gates.

I just thought it is nice to hear acts of good once in a while.

I have a favorite I'd like to share. Actually, I wish everybody would give this a try, just so more folks could "receive".
I call this, "BLESSED BUCKS. I take two or three one dollar bills and write on them, "May you be blessed with Health, Wealth and Joy!". Then I hide them somewhere where someone will find it. Great places are inside a newspaper in the JOB SEARCH section or in a public restroom, taped to the stall door....or (I carry a glue stick around with me) stuck to the back of a box of Pampers in a grocery store.

The point of this is, I figure....it would BLOW my mind if I happened to be the finder of one of these....so, the next best thing is being the provider for somebody else. I HAVE TO IMAGINE THAT FINDING ONE OF THESE WOULD BE A RUSH. iMAGINE BEING DEPRESSED AND LOOKING FOR A JOB...YOU SPEND YOU LAST QUARTER ON A PAPER, OPEM IT UP AMD THERE IN jOB sEARCH IS A real DOLLAR BILL WITH A BLESSING ON IT? wOULDNT YOUR JAW DROP AND YOOUR MOOD lift? i'd probably call everybody I know and say, "You wont believe what happened to me today!"

tHE REALLY FUNNY THING IS, RIGHT AFTER i STARTED DOING THIS, MANY YEARS AGO, iVE HAD PRETTY MONEY LUCK. kARMA, i GUESS.
mY ONLY RULE IS, never STICK AROUND TO SEE WHO FINDS IT.

a DOLLAR IS ONLY A DOLLAR AND WONT EVEN BUY A CUP OF COFFEE ANYMORE. bUT IT SEEMS TO ME THE JOY OF FINDING ONE IS way MORE THAN A DOLLAR'S WORTH OF jOY.

PLUS, IT'S REALLY FUN TO THINK UP PLACES TO HIDE THE bUCKS. oNCE i WAS IN A GROCERY STORE HIDING THREE ONE DOLLAR BILLS WHEN i noticed the assistant manager was following me, evidently thinking my furtive behavior was suspicious. I had just finished gluing a bill to the back of a box of Hamburger Helper when he politely asked to look inside my shoulder bag. I said, "sure, but this isnt what you think...."

He was so apologetic and embarrassed when there was no shoplifted merchandise in my bag, I felt sorry for him!

What you have stated is sad, but true.

In my lifetime I have seen so many acts of kindness (too many to list here). But none have made the news.

God has truly blessed me with good friends and surrounded me with wonderful people (many here on this site).
    Life is good.

That is a wonderful idea TL2K, can you imagine someone finding a bill when they really needed it. My problem here in Canada is we now have coins, 1,2 $ so if i do it , it will have to be with a 5 dollar bill. So, i probably won't be doing it every other day.

I raise money every year for those less fortunate. It is the best thing I do.

And in doing that, I see acts of kindness the entire time. Good people are all over the place but it's just like what was stated at the beginning...they don't make news.

Matticus, Darkwriter, i hear ya, I wonder what ever happened to Oprah's pass it on? Does anyone remember several years ago a movie came out and the theme was to do a good deed and it was called pass it on? I seem to remember her having several show's dealing with the subject of passing on acts of kindness. (?)
