    Default Dark Tower

I just started this series (I hadn't read it yet, but my mom had and she said it was AMAZING), and thus far its been fairly good. It's not similar to his norm, is it?

I hear the ending is phenomenal. What do you think?

Don't spoil it for me but I'm curious if its as good as I've heard.

I had read up to book 5 and then life intervened. I'm now up to book 6 and other books have gotten in the way. Up to this point it's a good read and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Many members here have re-read the series multiple times.

Hi! Yeah, I like to think it's as good as you've heard. I think it's great! And many of SK's other works tie into the story.

Be careful starting (or reading for that matter) threads about DT if you haven't finished it yet. It would really spoil a great story if you were to see a post about some significant event you have yet to read...

That said, enjoy the rest of the series. It's a brilliant journey that only gets better each step of the way.

Well, I can hardly wait to read them again...but since I'm starting over from Carrie and rereading everything of SK I guess I have a while to wait.

Just think of it as a journey of a lifetime. The ending is as it should be ( you will understand when you are there). Savor and enjoy each character and live the journey with them. You will never regret reading it.

    Hi,

Welcome to the MB, and keep posting!

Congrats on starting the most amazing journey in the history of literature IMO, your mom couldn't be more right.

Don't worry about the ending yet, savour the journey!

    Ka is a wheel.

BTW Under no circumstances open any of the DT threads on the MB until you've read the very last line, spoilers abound and could easily spoil your enjoyment.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I think you should STAY AWAY from any messages about Dark Tower here on the board until after you finish the books. No peeking! For real, you'll enjoy it much more if your mind is completely blank of outside comments until afterwards.

Once you've read them, THEN let's talk. Glad to have you aboard. (And there's lots of other threads you can participate in...)

    We all float down here...

Changed my life, so it did.

I can't imagine a better way to spend your time than reading these books. The end is a very personal thing for everyone who has read it.

Great series! It's a long journey, but worth the time and effort to finish it.

wow, first time through DT? I remember my first time. I laughed, I cried, and i grew into the avid SK reader I am today.

I do stand beside not looking into any of the DT threads until it's finished, although not for the same reason as the others.

I doubt there is anything that will "spoil" your views of this book, as it is masterfully written. How do i know? because i don't have to read it anymore to live in rolands world. I just have to close my eyes, and the desert unfolds before me. THAT makes it worth reading, if nothing else.

But if you read the spoilers, characters that have been hinted at, but not yet unfolded will be shown to you prematurely, and you won't be able to envelope yourself into the story, progressing with it as it were meant to be.

So read it, and read it whole heartedly, is my suggestion, and i can promise that you will not be dissapointed with the story as a whole. I'll set my watch and warrant on it.
