Cool Anything in Common with Stephen King?

Do you have anything in common with Stephen King? The number 19 is significant for him and that is my birth date. He is verbose and so am I. Kismet?

uhhh. I don't know? He likes to write and I like to read. That's about it. oh yea, both of our fathers walked out and was raised my single mom. We both have one sibling of the same sex. Hey we got more in common than I realized.

Good question. Without actually meeting/talking with the man, I can't say for sure. He's said writing is the thing he does best and what he was put here for (been quoted as saying that, anyway, which isn't always the same thing ); I feel the same way. Whether it's true or not I have no idea, but I don't get that sense of 'this is me' whilst doing anything else.
I also know what it's like to be skint and watching pennies. Been like that for most of my life. But I don't suppose I'm unique in sharing that.

I am originally from Maine (Kittery, not Portland). I'm a Democrat and supported Obama. I have two boys and so does he. I would also say that Mr. King has strongly influenced my sense of humor and world view.

Yes, lots of mindset things. Plus, when I open my mouth, all my guts fall out.

We read a lot of the same books, but then again, he reads A LOT of books, so the likelyhood of some overlap is HIGH.

He was an English teacher, I'm not (but really want to be).

Other than that, I don't know. I'm sure there are several things we have in common, most people have some stuff in common.

Verbose means wordy. As you know, SKs book and short stories have many pages. My writing tends to be this way too.

My birthdate is the 19th also and it should be evident to any reader of these pages that I do blather on and on. Most interesting.
