Ok, just got the perfect guy for Blaze. Vince Vaughn. He's 6'5" and has the rough look. Plus, he's got the range to play a dramatic part (see Into the Wild).

Hi,
I agree with Door and Demon. Vince Vaugn would work.
Long days and pleasant nights
I have yet to read Blaze, so to be quite honest I'm not really aware of his traits such as personality or age, but I will throw out the fact that Tim Robbins is white and about 6'5.
I just finished the book. Wow. There are several parts in the book that gropes for the heart in the darkness, and then gently squeezes. God, this has to be made into a movie...
Tim Robbins is a good choice, but he may be a bit old for it.
I thought Blaze was a good story. I'd love to see a movie adaptation of it.
What a coincedence that Gary also played a "George" in "Mice and Men". Coincedence in two ways: One, same name of character, and two, Blaze is a tribute to the book itself. But you are right on in putting forward Gary as George. The Pruitt fellow, I'm not familiar with, though he sort looks the part. Can't figure out how tall he is though. Blaze would have to be very tall without a doubt.
Hi..I totally agree with this thread, Blaze would (should) make an excellent movie![]()
I felt so torn for Clayton's character, that guy always had such a bum deal in life, for some reason the part where we find he was an extremely bright child before his fathers abuse really affected me.![]()
I especially loved all the flashback sequences and if that could be successfully captured on screen it would be amazing. This is definitely one of my all time favourite stories.
