Is it just me, or does Blaze seem like it would be an instant movie hit (a la Green Mile or Shawshank)? I'm not quite done reading it, but it seems like it has all the right elements for a movie.

I read this a little while ago, and yes...I think you're right. I think it could be made into a fairly decent movie. Albeit a sad one...but I won't spoil anything as you've not finished it just yet.
I do agree that it has all the elements for a good movie though.
But who to cast as Blaze? Hmmmm....not to sure on that aspect. Any ideas on who you'd like to see in that role?
Hi,
Yes, I agree completely, and it's just the right length for a cinema movie IMO.
But can you imagine casting for Clayton Blaisdell?

Very true John, I actually have difficulty in casting any King character really. No one individual ever truly lives up to the ones that I see in my mind ya know...
The only one that ever came the closest for me personally was John Coffey. The actor that was chosen for that particular role was almost smack on the money IMO.
Jeez, I have no idea who could be cast for the part. They would have to be 6' 4" at the very least. I can't even think of any super tall white actors. Anybody else have some suggestions?
I agree. It should be made in to a movie.
I agree. Blaze would make a great film. As for who could play him... how about Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock? He's actually a pretty decent actor.
Hi,
Tom Hanks was in my mind at the time of reading Blaze. Well, he isn't 6"4 but he is at least 6.
And he is a great actor, IMO.
Or Thomas Haden Church, who played The Sandman in Spider-Man 3. He looked very damaged in his role. Also a great actor, and does look a little "fractured."
As for George Rackley, I have no idea.

The Rock is fantastic, though, he's only 6'3". And, he would have to have a pretty good make up job. I was thinking maybe Brendan Fraser, but he's the same height. I can't think of too many tall (over 6'5") white actors.
Honestly though, I've looked it up, and there is no chatter or even a whisper of a rumor for movie. How is that possible? In this day and age, everything is rumored to be in movie development...
