    Default Curious about Peter Straub

I looked around and couldn't find any threads on Peter Straub's work. If there is one and I somehow missed it, I apologize and ask Ms. Mod to please put this in the appropriate place.

I really enjoyed his collaborations with Sai King on The Talisman and Black House, and have been toying with the idea of giving some of his other work a try. Problem is, I have no clue where to begin. I am asking for suggestions from anyone who has read any of his books, as well as any opinions on his style of writing. I desperately need something else to read while awaiting Under The Dome.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

God idea, Sai Straub is an excellent writer and I would suggest starting with Ghost Story.

    Hi,

Two that I enjoyed very much were Ghost Story, and Shadowland, but all his books are very good, Ghost Story was the one that hooked me. His writing style was a little difficult for me at first, but after about fifty pages or so, it was all good!

I recently picked up Ghost Story, but unfortunately haven't had the time to start it.

I would go with FLoating Dragon for a first novel.

I just finished Black House and have heard there may be another book coming soon. I really hope that is true. I know I've read Ghost Story in the past but would like to find it and read it now. I thoroughly enjoyed the Talisman and Black House. Some of the best I've read in a while next to the DT Series.

I just read Mr X and although I liked his prose, there are parts of the story I found very confusing. The narrative was good enough that I'm going to try Ghost Story next.

Just wanted to thank everyone for helping me out and giving me your opinions. They are all very appreciated.
I think I am gonna go with Ghost Story for the first one seeing as how it got the most nominations, as well as it being suggested by the ever wise and helpful JohnDalglish.

    Thanks again everyone!

After that one, I shall definately check out the others that were mentioned.
