    Default Insomnia

I LOVED this book! Of course, I haven't read an SK novel, novella, or short story that I haven't liked, but this is one of my favs so far... I'm moving on to Duma Key next, and am really excited cause everyone speaks so highly of it...

Does anyone else love Insomnia as much as me?

    Hi,

Welcome to the MB, and keep posting!

Yes, it's a marvellous book and if you 'Search Forum' there's a thread called (I think) 'Why does everyone hate Insomnia?' that has a great deal of discussion about it, and there's also a Social Group devoted to it to which you're more than welcome to join, once you've reached the minimum posts required.

    Long days and pleasant nights

Insomnia was one of the best! Especially the links to the Dark Tower. IT and Insomnia are my all time favourites..

I don't know whether I loved it as much as you; but I did like the book. Among other things, it was a nice take on ageism.

I love that book in a way it is the flip-side of IT. IT shows the kid's underworld in a town. Insomnia shows the retired people's underworld. I've read it four times. And I've read IT six times

I thought it was OK...... not all that good really. I mean anything is usually ok by Stephen King but Insomnia got a little more than "far fetched" and it felt like he really stretched at the end to wrap things up.

    Duma Key is cool....

Loved it, it is one of my 3 SK favs: The Stand, Bag of Bones and Insomnia. Funny thing about it is that I didn't care much for Hearts in Atlantis or Dreamcatcher, which everyone raves about. Go figure. Even among the faithful (otherwise penned "Constant Reader") there exist variety of human preference.

I did enjoy it but it took me awhile to get into, not even sure why!

    Hi,

I first read it before I read DT5, 6 & 7 and, while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I enjoyed re-reading it AFTER DT far more.

And of course he's on record himself calling it, and Rose Madder, as 'stiff, trying too hard novel'.

But then, he threw Carrie in the trash!

    Long days and pleasant nights
