Cell...the final chapter?

I'm at a loss. I finished Cell weeks ago and have no "closure." I'm left hanging about the main characters; without revealing anything to anyone who has not yet read the book...did the cell work to return the little guy to normal? Was there ever a reunion if/when Clay following the signs/initials? What about the baby? Ugh.

Ah the inevitable "well what happens next?" What can you say but who knows? Did it work and save humanity? Does it really matter? I can only say I feel your frustration but what can we do? Just enjoy the ride while it lasts and then get on another! Hope that helps, doesn't make me feel any better but.............................. well there ya go!

read it again, perse. i did. give it some time between reads if need be. funny how you can (i can anyway) read a story and come away w/impressions and then read it again a month, a year two later and come away with entirely new impressions. something in the water maybe. at the bottom of this page there are links to other threads related to what you ask. check em out when you find the time.

Really? That ending left you frustrated? I just finished Cell and loved the ending!
True, not everything was spelled out, but I found it very hopeful; after all, Jordan wouldn't be dead-wrong, would he? and we were following Alice's thinking, too.
To me, the end was like another adventure just opening up in front of Clay and the others.

The ending though was suppose to be a cliffhanger ending. I didn't think it was frustrating as we don't know whether Johnny was ok. I was more angery about not finding out what caused the pulse but if ypou don't say you kept in ambiguous and then you make you own mind up. That's what I think teh ending does, liek teh end of Great Expectations, it's not perfectly clear but whatever you think ahappens gives you closure

I liked the ending to Cell. It does leave a lot of questions open. That allows you to fill in the blanks yourself, and come up with what ever answer you like.
