IT/The Shining Connection

Don't know if anyone's talked about this but it was nice to see last night when reading IT that Dick Halloran from The Shining make an appearance. Actually Dick was the one that saved Mike's Dad in the fire at The Black Spot

Yeah I noticed that too. I like coming across characters from his other books. In The Stand Mother Abigail makes a reference to having the Shine, I wondered if she was supposed to be related to Halloran.

Also I read last night that there is a connection with The Stand. Ben lives in Hemingford Home, Nebraska . I love the connections I am finding. I am sure there are more that I have missed but I have only read a few of King's books. This is the first time I am reading IT.

Sweet. I haven't logged on since signing up here the day before Halloween, but was reading IT today, first time, and came across the Dick Hallorann connection. I was pretty impressed with myself that I caught it. Grabbed my copy of The Shining to make sure I was right. Thought that was cool. I guess I spoiled the part about him saving Mike's father, but what can you do.
