    Talking Remake of Christine

I read the novel Christine when I was a teenager. I couldn't put the damned thing down and read it in two days. The book scared the crap out of me (slept with the light on for days after reading).

I watched the movie after I read the book. Because graphics were limited in the 80's the movie was not near as scary and my imagination made it when I read the book. Graphics have come a long way since the dawn of Hollywood and the computer. Does Stephen King plan on a remake of Christine using today's modern computer graphics? I think that would be awesome! The remake of The Shining was cool as hell!

Steve doesn't have any plans to do a remake of Christine.

Hmm...there were reasons for The Shining remake, i.e. that SK wasn't happy with the Kubrick version. As far as I know, there are no such issues with Christine. And how could anyone top it? It might look at little old now, but so does Gone with the Wind and Citizen Kane (if you'll forgive the comparison).
Point is, just because something reaches a certain age or looks old, doesn't mean it has to be remade. If nothing else, it'll kill inventiveness and deny a real voice to the next generation of storytellers. If all I'm going to get for the next 50 years is reboots and remakes of things with nothing new being allowed, then I might as well load the jump program now.

GOOOOOODDDD. Because the original is a classic. It didnt need CGI...The shining has already been made twice already. Geesh..just kidding, still, we dont need another shining.

I thought the special effects in Christine were outstanding. I don't think I'd like to see this one re-made. There are to many re-makes out there as it is.

I agree, Christine is a classic and doing a remake of it would ruin it. I like the original much better.

I just finished the audiobook of Christine today... for some reason I was under the impression that the movie wasn't true to the book (I haven't seen it... at least not that I remember, I might have seen part of it) and that it was regarded as a dud. Am I crazy?

That one commercial for a car repainting/body shop that shows a car all dinged up and broken and as this song plays the car heals and repaints itself, and my dad and I cringe all the way through it. The song lyrics are ... return to me, oh my dear I'm so lonely...
creepy, man. That's enough of a remake for me. :P

No need to remake Christine, or The Shining.

Though, I'd like to see them remake TommyKnockers.

And I'd like to see Stephen rewrite The Stand, and see remake of that film as well.

Glad they did the remake of the Shining because Kubrick stinks. I like the original of Christine but if they would have added the zombies of all the people killed by the car to the original it really would have kicked a**
