Is the number 19 special to you??

Mr. King,

I would like to know if the number 19 holds any special significance to you. I have noticed it in several of your books but most recently in "Duma Key" Edgar Freemantle's email ends in 19. The number 19 has always been my favorite/identifying number and I can't explain why. If it does have any meaning for you I would appreciate if you would respond to my post.

Sorry, Steve doesn't respond personally but, yes, the number 19 has personal meaning to him. The new printings of the first four Dark Tower books include an essay called "On Being 19" which provides a little insight on this. What he considers his first "professional" sale happened when he was 19. He was struck by the minivan on June 19, 1999. Those are the examples that come to mind immediately, but there are probably others as well.

Welcome to the board. The number 19 is special to me because that's the day I was born.

The number 19 has some significance to me in that my first child was born
at 1:19 a.m. and my second was born at 2:19 p.m.
I seem to always catch a clock at 19 past the hour at a glance.

19 was special when I was 19!!!!!!!! other than that nope....not at all. I do find myself occasionally looking for 19 only because of Sai King. Thanks a lot Steve!!! Just one more thing to mess with my head.
