Default In Desperate Need of a Suggestion

In the next couple of days, I plan on placing an order on Amazon.com, and I am really set on buying four books, except I can't think of a fourth one that I want to go with. Right now, I'm thinking about going with Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, The Exorcist and Dean Koontz's Frankenstein for my thirteen year old sister. I'm just stumped on a fourth. I'm looking for something in the horror genre, something that is really atmospheric, something you find quite terrifying. I am leaning towards Clive Barker's Damnation Game, but I wasn't all that impressed with the Hellbound Heart, so I'm not sure. Any suggestions are welcome.

They Thirst by Robert McCammon.....heck of a great vampire novel. Or Boy's Life by the same author.

    Hi,

I'm leaning towards the Robert McCammon suggestions above (if it's something non-SK you're looking for) and I'd add Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door.

Damnation Game is a tough read but well worth it.

American God's by Neil Gaiman. He's a Dark Fantasy writer but he has still won numerous Horror awards, speaking of awards, he just won the Newbery today(the most Prestigious Children's Lit award in the world) for "The Graveyard Book". But it's not really a children's book, it's actually very well written and quite spooly. Give him a try, you'll probably like it. He's my new favorite author, now tied with King.

At the mountains of madness by H.P.Lovecraft.The Exorcist is a good book but if you want to really surprise someone,go and get Legion,by the same author,William Peter Blatty,itīs not as known as its predecessor but itīs (for me) maybe even better.
