I'm getting weary of being the only person on the planet who hasn't read them. Now, do I have to read them in order, or can I mix them all up?

Welcome to the bandwagon! While they are totally over-hyped, they are also really great. I hope you enjoy them. I would recommend reading them in order. The characters age one year with each book and I think it would be a bit disorienting to watch them grow up backwards.
I read the first 3, but I have all of them. I think you have to pretty much read them in order since they are in order of his time in Hogwarts. They're very good books ... I was surprised. I thought Harry Potter was better than Twilight.
You need to read them in order![]()
Lol, I guess mixing them all up would make an interesting experience for you, but I think I would advice you to read them in order - there are a lot of persons, stories, twists and turns to keep track of.
I love the Harry Potter-books. Don't let yourself miss out on them, even if everybody else has read them too..!
Ducky. :-)
READ in order.... They grow in darker happenings..and IMO reading out of order would muck up the journey... but hey u never know.
I read gthem a few times, they are gr8 books... enjoy
Hi,
You are not alone!
When they were first published they were marketed, rightly or wrongly, as children's books, and my kids had already read Night Shift and The Stand so they were certainly not interested in what they perceived as 'kid's books', with the result that I missed out on them completely.
I'll maybe get around to them one day but 'so many books, so little time' indeed.
Long days and pleasant nights
The Harry Potter novels are right up there with SK's Dark Tower series, IMO. They are both brilliantly plotted page turning fantasies.
Read in order, please!
I think HP is not for little kids after the Chamber of Secrets...things start getting pretty heavy for poor Harry!
Read in order. You will develop and grow with the characters. Read it alone with my Granddaughter.
Yep. Read in order. It's a great series. The characters will stay with you for a long, long time.
