Oh, I watched it when it aired last year. There were things about it that I liked (Pierce Brosnan), but mostly I thought it was horrendous. It completely butchered the novel, and while I'm not one of those people who minds changes being made for a movie, I do mind when they are incompetently done. I wrote an extremely snarky review of it on my blog, which can be found here: http://thetruthinsidethelie.blogspot...ones-2011.html
My most recent recent purchase is that I finally got a copy of the N. graphic novel. I bought the single issues when they came out and loved them, and had been wanting to get the collected edition ever since it came out, and had just never quite gotten around to making it happen.
Good stuff!

Re: Your latest Stephen King related purchase...
Yard sales are fab for finding books and I get so happy when I see King sitting there, beckoning me over and whispering sweetly in my ear-buy me, take me home, read me, read me...:) oh the shiver of excitement is too much to bear. LOL

Re: Your latest Stephen King related purchase...
Hadn't heard of that one but see it's by Tony Magistrale so should be a worthwhile read.

Skimmed thru it, it seems to be pretty 'high faluting' so don't know about the excitement factor.:eek2: I'm trying to get all of those Starmont books for my collection.

That's fantastic! I will never forget the day that my second Grant printing of The Gunslinger arrived in the mail and the feeling of awe that I had when I sat there looking at the book and the wonderful Michael Whelan illustrations. That was a l-o-n-g time ago and it was only my second limited edition that I had ever bought, the first being the Grant trade limited of The Talisman. So began my adventures into the wonderful world of fine book collecting! I blame it all on Donald Grant (may he rest in peace). I did get the chance to meet him in person and had him sign that particular edition of The Talisman and I told him it was all his fault that I was broke (from the book collecting) and he laughed and thanked me. He was a pretty darn nice guy.
