Is odetta a prostitute or is that her personae

I was just wondering when I reread in the books she said she was cheap and all that stuff plz help

...let's just say, that in her "persona" as 'Detta-she did some unsavory things to advance whatever "agenda" she had at the time....

I don't think she was a prostitute. My understanding is that she got off (literally) on doing anything that was unsavory/wrong. I don't think (I certainly could be wrong) that she was taking money from the men she was . . . having relations with . . . she just did it for the rush.
