Re: Christine is far the best ever movie
Look, I love Christine, and John Carpenter movies in general, but the notion that it is the best movie ever made is so ludicrous that I don't even know how to respond to it, or why I would bother.
And yet, here we are.
But yeah, I'd watch a sequel. Why not?
Re: Christine is far the best ever movie
...I beg to differ...you CAN polish a fecal left-over.....

Re: Christine is far the best ever movie
okay...i might just bring myself to see a sequel...but, i'm w/burnette: while i abslutely love a good carpenter movie - this ain't one of those
sorry...and it hurts like all hades to say this, but 'tis true nonetheless: this one is more turd
i just rewatched it the other day...and it still is his near dead last really bad film...'escape from la' being the ....turdiest
Re: Christine is far the best ever movie
Christine needs to be re-made in a bad way, by a director who has the funds for some serious ILM effects.
Not with ya on this one, dude. There are several movies based upon an SK work out there that are far superior. (But Christine is still a great read.)
Re: Christine is far the best ever movie
i remember not really being a fan back-in-the-day...
after my recent rewatch, i come away thinking that there were just too many wrong decisons being made...this was a bad match of a great indie film director who, to me (compared to almost any of his own, original movies) , made a movie that feels like he was held over a creative barrel to his new studio overlords
the script lies flat and unengaging...very much unlike the book...
the actors, all near the beginnings of their careers, do not hold the prescense to carry off thier tasks: especially gordon, who, imho, hams it up as often as he hits it square
it shows about zero of carpenters usual flair for dialogue, humor and his usually concise filmic eye
i don't hate the movie...but i cannot in good faith consider it to be a good representation of the near classic, b-movie book
lily is quite correct...this one is dire need of a remake by someone who 'gets' the book...much like 'the running man'

Re: Christine is far the best ever movie

so...light my way :wink2:
they say love is blindness...so cruel...that it even has, shall i say it...mysterious ways
but, me, i'm just tryin' to throw my arms around the world
i'm an acrobat like that...
i'll be awaiting your thoughts until the end of the world
