Wow, happy birthday to Mamma PITH!
Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our very own PITH's Mama! Happy Birthday!!!
I am happy today because when I made my call to my advocate to see if I could get a few gift certificates to a grocery store (I can ask my housing advocate for help, so I do), she told me that she's put me down for a $100 check. I just have to text on Wednesday to arrange for drop-off. The check means I can select the grocery store I want to go shopping at, which is good for me, and I can use a bit of the cash to get medications that the ministry doesn't cover for me. Little things like this make life a lot easier.
I am happy today because I have a friend who has been very good to me lately. It means more to me that I can express. :)
I am happy today because even though my super important project at work is falling apart, it's of no fault of mine. And I can be the hero when I rescue it.
And I got a super huge sale to make my day somewhat happy.
I am happy today because Notre Dame got a what-for in the big game last night.
I am happy because our new microwave is installed! No one's head went rolling either! (and by no one, I mean MINE!) The new one is 1 1/4" taller than the old one, and the bracket was slightly different, so had to change all of that, and drill new holes in the bottom of the cupboards, but all in all it went smoothly! Whoo-hoo!
I am happy today because it's snowing and for now the world looks pretty.
More pit bulls, obviously.
There are two dogs at the shelter that have been there since I started volunteering, and I can't figure why they haven't been adopted. Just because a pit bull has facial scars doesn't mean he's an aggressive dog, it just means he's been in a fight.
Frazier's face is criss-crossed with scars, and one of his ears is half chewed off. He was probably a bait dog. Despite his obvious scarring, he is dog, kid, and cat friendly as well as just being a sweet goofy boy.
Balboa is a big bruiser guy; he probably weighs in at 90 pounds or so. He looks pretty pit bully but he probably has some mastiff in the mix just due to his size. His muzzle is also crisscrossed with scars as are his legs. Despite this, he is a giant goof ball, takes treats really nicely, and doesn't seem to be dog aggressive. He's very confident and probably wouldn't back down if the other dog started it, but he really doesn't seem like a trouble maker.
Also, if you are in the market for a shelter dog, please keep in mind please that a dog's behavior in a kennel is not really indicative of how he will behave out of it. (These, two, btw, are very polite in their kennels.)
I am also happy that I can be a supportive friend to people who need it.
