Sorry, Right Number
I looked through the threads but haven't found one dedicated to this story. I wonder, doesn't anyone like it?
I just read this story yesterday, so I'm still overwhelmed with emotions from reading it. To my mind, it was just great - although I didn't have much time for reading, because it was very late, I still couldn't go on without finishing the story. In fact, I did it rather quickly, because it was sooo exciting!
Unfortunately, I haven't read the whole book yet, so I can't say if it's going to become my favorite story of the collection so far. But it will always be, at least, one of my favorites.
What do you think about the story?

Re: Sorry, Right Number
I think I saw it referred to as a "predestination paradox", and that sums it up-but in such an inimitable King way...

Re: Sorry, Right Number
It's one of my favorite of sK's short stories. I remember being impressed at his expert achievement of such a difficult concept.

Re: Sorry, Right Number
I loved it, sad and creepy as it was. My Uncle died in a motorcycle accident when I was six and I had dreams that I went back in time to try to stop him from going out that night, this story made me think of those dreams.

Re: Sorry, Right Number
This was adapted for an episode of Tales from the Darksaide back in the day. I recall that being pretty good (by TFTDS standards anyway). That series also had Word Preccessor of the Gods as well.

Re: Sorry, Right Number
I thought it was superb in that it drew you in with the phone call, leading you to the slow dawning horror that it was the woman calling herself from the future to warn her past self about her husband's impending death. It really tugs on the emotions. So...yes! I truly liked this story and it is also one of my favorites!
