who should Play Roland

not sure about Roland but Adam Storke (Larry, in the stand) would make a great Eddie....I think...

There is a guy on Game of Thrones, Iain Glen, who I think would make an excellent Roland.

I think he brings a certain presence to a scene, what few he is in.

Eastwood would have been all to perfect. Man. Kurt Russell or Val Kilmer maybe? Both did very well with Tombstone. You know, some people may think I'm crazy but I think Johnny Depp could pull it off.

Then it would turn into another Johnny Depp movie.

I would really like to see Josh Brolin play Roland, I didn't realize it till I saw him recently that he is what I pictured in my head when I read the books.

I was thinking Hugh Jackman myself, mostly because he can act and he looks rugged. He got a similar look down in Van Helsing (albeit goffic-ized), though definitely not the feel. I also just like him as a person, through him some work!

I just registered only to tell you how much I agree with that! While reading the book I knew that there was someone I had seen who would make a perfect Roland with his presence and charisma but I couldn't remember who and where it was. It was just in the back of my head somewhere. Now that I watch Game of Thrones again I know it was Iain Glen. Well, we have to take Russell Crowe, I fear, anyway :/

Daniel Day Lewis is kind of a crazy method actor, who knows what he'd do to get in character for Roland.
