I have 3 different paperbacks of the Bachman Books with Rage in them. what year is the original, does anyone know? Thanks
I don't own any originals. But I have one Bachman/King book Blaze. I've read it. It was great.
Yes, quite a few collectors have some or all of the original paperback editions of the individual books that were later collected as The Bachman Books. They can often be purchased at used book stores (you can find many on www.abebooks.com). I see one set of all four selling for $650.
Does anyone know what the sales of the original paperbacks before the author's identity was revealed? In "The Bachman Books" intro I believe SK said that Bachman was steadily gaining a bigger audience and that "The Running Man" (I think that's the one) sold 28,000 copies. I wonder about the originals of "Rage", "The Long Walk" and "Roadwork". There probably isn't many of the original paperbacks around anymore.
I used to see them in libraries back in the early 80's, but it's been a long while since I have seen one. I read The Long Walk before anyone knew it was SK, great book!
I don't suppose my Bachmann train set counts huh?
I have a hardback copy of Thinner. It has a picture of Richard Bachman on the flyleaf and the dedication is to his wife Claudia Inez Bachman. By the time I got it the cat was pretty much out of the bag, but still. it's a nice thing to have.
I have the paperback copy of The Bachman books. The one with the skulls on it, and has Rage,The Long Walk, the Running man and Road work. I also have a paperback of The Regulators, and A hardback of Blaze.
