That reminds me of a conversation with my youngest daughter. One of the supplies in her math class is a calculator. I told her that when we went to school calculators were banned in math class. We had to write it all out and show our work, we couldn't get away with not thinking. I also showed her how to do long division, since her teacher has a shortcut with no adding/subtracting...( it's basically just estimating) The shortcut works on some problems, but cannot be depended on for all.Quote:
