Not really happy with the Hugh Laurie idea, no disrespect intended. I still think Mark Harmon for Roland. and Zoe Saldana could pull a Susannah I think. But William Dafoe and Christopher Walken as Walter, Crimson King, or Dandelo would be great. There's room for both of them in this if this movie/slash T.V series has to happen, still isn't sitting well with me. We've all seen what can happen to amazing books when turned into a movie. Anybody who has read The Clan of the Cave Bear series can verify. Or of course there's the Molly Ringwald?!?!?! And thank you to all the people who write their thoughts and comments. This is the first message board I've ever bothered to join! When Stephen King gets you in his clutches it's all over. Thankee-sai to all C.R.'s.
Wasn't sure where to put this question so I put it here, if wrong place sorry!. My husband was listening to Radio 4 on Friday on his way home from work and he was listening to a interview with Ron Howard and of course Dark Tower came up and apparently he said it might not go ahead (Ron still wants to do it) now because there is problems with writers (hubby was only half listening so didn't get which writers). Has anyone else heard anything like this.
Steve just had a meeting with Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman a couple weeks ago and the contracts have all been signed. I think he would have mentioned if there was a problem but he said the meeting went fine. :dunno: My understanding is they're planning to start announcing casting choices, possibly this week.
I saw another interview where Ron Howard said the same thing, but I think he was just hedging his bets. He may not have gotten the official green light from the studio, or he might not have all the funding lined up yet. Announcing some big-name stars for the project will go along way towards kicking it into high gear.
If they take it one day at a time it should turn out great.
I've just read that Christian Bale could be tipped to play Roland.
I sure hope this is just a rumour, he hasn't got the looks or the age for Roland and he's ego could ruin the whole thing.
Ms. Mod, IS true that offered Roland's character to Javier Bardem?
I wait that alone it is a rumor because many friking we do not agree with that Bardem interprets to Roland.
It would be a real disappointment...
Yes, I've posted about this in the News Forum and started a new thread in the Dark Tower movie forum.
