We have been getting a lot of film noirs out of the library lately, so we treated ourselves to a new movie at the DVD shop. We got out Public Enemies. Johnny Depp. The man can do no wrong. From Mort Rainey to Capn Jack Sparrow to John Dillinger. And all so perfect. Can't recommend it enough.
Halloween 5 and My bloody valentine. Watch them around Halloween.
I finally got around to watching Catch Me If You Can with Tom Hanks and Leonardo Dicaprio. I liked it. :) I also really liked that joke that Tom Hanks tells. Classic stuff.
Paranormal Activity and Zombieland
Zombieland was friggin hilarious! Bill Murray's cameo was great.
Paranormal Activity was not action based, but is definately a thriller/suspense. I enjoyed it greatly, but I know many people were not happy with it.
I watched Year One over the weekend, I'm a pretty big Jack Black fan! I liked it, I didn't love it, but I liked it. Thats all there is to say.
I'm on an "oldies" kick right now. Last night, I watched, for probably the 100th time, one of my all-time favorites, Steel Magnolias. Every single time I watch it, I find myself bawling and laughing at all the same parts. My eyes were still puffy when I woke up this morning. "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion."
The Naked Civil Servant (1975) Brilliant performance by John Hurt as Quentin Crisp. Eye-opening and sad.
Let the right one in
I had read the novel last weekend and thought I see what all the hubbub was about, with the film and to be brutally honest.. What a load of rubbish!!
The book is outstanding, while the movie is so poorly made. And the infamous Pool Scene, OMG terrible.
Sorry, can't find a thing I liked. Give me the book anyday and BURN the movie!
