I was browsing through the instant downloads in Netflix today and ran across a movie I hadn't seen in years. No Time for Sargeants
(1958) with Andy Griffith and Nick Adams. I have to say it - they don't make them like that any more. Now to find Onionhead.
The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) - My mom wanted to watch this one. I didn't. It ain't the original, that's for sure. There are some remakes that I like, but this isn't one of them. Can't believe I missed the new episode of Rescue Me to watch this. Save yourself the trouble and stick with the original. Unless you like watching movies that don't do anything except make you want to watch the original.
The Thing from another World (1951) - A classic. I like Carpenter's version more, but the original is almost as good.
Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown (2008) - This is a documentary for people who don't know much about Lovecraft other than Cthulhu. John Carpenter, Neil Gaiman, and a few others are on hand to pay homage to the man and discuss his works. Most Mythos fans probably already know everything about Lovecraft and the Mythos so there isn't much new to them. If you've never read Lovecraft you might want read a few of his stories (http://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/) and then watch this documentary.
Casino Royale (2006) - I suppose this might be the Batman Begins of the Bond franchise. I think it's fantastic, but I admit it's weird seeing a prequel that isn't really a prequel. I do hope Daniel Craig works out as Bond. I haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet, but I've heard it wasn't that great. Still, I hope Bond can keep going with Craig because I'd hate to think that Pierce Brosnan got ousted out of the Bond role for nothing.
easy A (2010) - Pleasantly surprised. Came on and I was too lazy to change the channel. The 80's movies references is what kept me chuckling.
I saw this flick called Cedar Rapids, starring Ed Helms and John C Reilly. It was okay, nothing special but enjoyable.
Animal House. Can never get enough of Eat Me!
Antitrust (Ryan Phillippe is a newly hired programmer who begins to find out just how sinister his boss Tim Robbins is)
For Richer Or Poorer (Tim Allen & Kirstie Alley are a couple hiding from the IRS by pretending to be Amish)

yeah, i was disappointed with this movie. I like Ed Helms, but this was just a mediocre, mailed-in film...Quote:

I watched Dead Calm with Sam Neill, Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane in leading role. Very good movie. I've seen it two times before.
