Howdy all! (ahem) First of all, I have been a SK fan since the first release of Carrie. (had to get my mom to take me as it was rated R) Yeeeees I do remember. Then came Salems Lot and The Shining. I couldnt put down The Stand or It until they were finished (marathon reads) And YES, I was a reader of the original Gunslinger. Well I have finally finished the last book. The Wind Through the Keyhole. I am totally exhausted(and alot older than when i started) but totally satisfied. I was rendered laughing so hard at what Roland found at the top of the tower, not because it was funny, but because it was such classic King, AND I didnt see it coming. He is the absolute master at what he does.
I am a Nurse who appreciates the macabre. (yeah i read that one too) It is nice to see others who appreciate his art as well.

Hi,

Been a Stephen King fan since 1975 when I first picked up a copy of 'Salem's Lot in a TG&Y because it had an interesting cover. It was after finishing it, that I developed a life long phobia of closets. "Closets doors MUST be kept closed!!!" =-0 Mr. King has seen me through my high school years, college, getting married, two kids, a move across country, & now a divorce. I've read everything he has ever written at least once, some more times than I can remember.

I stumbled onto this site by accident, but it feels like home...

Hi,
I am from Constanța, a city located on the Black Sea coast of Romania.
I want to say hello to everybody here and mention how excited I am, being on this forum where I see people so fascinated with myths (like I am ).
Though I like the sea with the surroundings and I can say Constanta is a lovely city, I love the mountains too.
In the Carpathians there are beautiful landscapes which I enjoyed visiting whenever I had the chance. But what I am really drawn too, are the stories preserved within the medieval towns and cities from Transylvania and Dracula is one of them.
I am a fan of science fiction movies and Dracula is one of the stories that I am most familiar with, reason for which I visited many places in the mountains area of my country. I do know the real story of Vlad Tepes (aka Dracula nowadays) and I can say that his real life was equally fascinating as well as full with intrigue.. He was a great leader for Walachia and his enemies feared him greatly though his reputation persuaded his name even after his death..
The places in Transylvania are truly breathtaking and each time, the journeys I made there enriched my perception regarding Romania.
I hope my english is good enough for you guys and what I am saying makes sense.. ;-)
I love finding out bits of the real stories that usually is at the base of inspiring a birth of a genuine myth...
So anyway, I love being part of this community on this website and I wish you all a very nice wonderful day!

Hello, I am new, as you will well know since I am posting here in the new memebers area. I have already posted a couple of bits but thats because I am lazy and didn't read far enough to find that there was a designated section for the new kids.

My name is Robyn, and I'm 24, from England, and (yep you guessed it) a huge Stephen King fan. I started reading his stuff about 10 years ago and haven't stopped since. I am busy working on owning a full collection of King's books (nearly done it too, only got a handful left to get!). The same goes for reading his books as well, I have read most but not all.
I won't proclaim to be the biggest Stephen King fan in the world...in fact I would say this might be one of the worst places to try to claim that, but I am certainly a very big fan. I haven't read all his works, or seen all the movies, but I do absolutely love almost everything he makes and I would have to say he is one of the great Idols I look up to.

Anyway I hope to find lots of nice, like minded people here and I look forward to getting involved in lots of interesting and fun discussions.

There you go, lame introduction done :)

Hello all, longtime fan of King's, brand new message board member with a question maybe some of you can help me out with.

I'm going to be in Wilmington, NC for a comedy festival next week and was hoping to check out some of the filming locations of Silver Bullet while I'm there cause I'm a giant nerd.

The only two locations I've been able to find online are the lake Marty shoots the fireworks off the bridge (the kite scene was filmed nearby) and the Tarker's Mill Festival (courthouse square, Burgaw, NC).

I was wondering if there was a resource that might know of other, more specific locations (the covered bridge, Marty's home, etc).

I'm not looking to bother any homeowners or trespass or anything, just thought it might be a fun way to spend a day or two driving around.

Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated.

Thanks!
