Shavuot is the Jewish holiday signifying the start of the Feast of Weeks, originally a harvest festival, is also celebrated in Germany, made up mostly of conservative Christians, as Pfingsten, originally celebrating the Holy Spirit and the twelve apostles of Jesus and is called Whitsun or Whitsunday by English speaking Christians although they do not celebrate it. Modern Jews and Christians have made Shavuot into the new Passover or feast of Moses and the freeing of the slaves after western Christians changed their Passover to Easter.

Are there any verses in the bible that tell us that we aren't alone in this life? I sometimes struggle with loneliness and I got scared earlier because my mom has heart problems and she had chest pains earlier to where we had to take her to the doctor. All I have here is my family and 2 friends (still in Missouri) and I needed to know if there were any verses to help me get through the tough patches in life. Also, does anyone know of a group I can meet with that are Christians my age? I mean I am not the kind of Christian that's "Bible thumping and hootin and hoolerin" kind. I am down to earth and looking for some people my age to hang with and befriend that also share the same beliefs as me. I don't mind other people and their beliefs at all. I love people for them not their beliefs. Just think it would be easier to talk to people my age that have things in common such as.

For anyone here who doesn't know who As I Lay Dying is, they are a Christian death metal band with A LOT of talent and just amazing songs like nothing left, upside down kingdom, and forever. The singer has written spine chilling lyrics and is an excellent screaming vocalist....but I am afraid I have some news to tell you all. Today authorities had found out that he had set up a "hit" on his ex wife. They are not sure if this is all true yet or not but at the moment he is in pretty deep stuff. Authorities believe he set this up through to a contracted killer (hit man) and ordered it on his behalf of his anger towards her. Tim Lambesis is one of my all time favorite singers and if this is true, It's gonna take some time but I will think about just disbanding him completely from myself. I've been listening to this band for a long time and It's hard to believe he would do such a thing. I know we all have are faults and drawbacks but good god.

I have been a christian since i was a child. I was raised as one and later on in life became more and more distant with God. At one time I believe i just gave up entirely on it but found my way back. Well recently i had doubted god again. Felt like he wasnt there anymore and like i didnt know who God really was. Like he just left or something and no longer was there. This frightened me quite a bit and i started to doubt A LOT. I talked to my sister about doubting and she told me the way she stopped was personally asking the lord to touch her heart. So last night i did. At first nothing had happened. So i looked up my problem and found out all these wonderful things about him. That he never gives up on us, that he understands our doubts and loves us just because. I was brought to tears realizing this and started to cry over how ashamed i was for doubting such a loving being. I threw my arm over my face and kept crying until i heard someone say to me, "please take your arm away from your face." i did so and that same voice said "you're so beautiful. I love you." this made me cry much harder because i couldnt help but cry at my doubting. I finally stopped and when i did i heard the voice say "i am always here. I love you." this made me smile and laugh like a child does when being tickled. I am still trying to put my doubts to rest but after last night i know that i am sincerely loved by the one we know simply as God. And i love him too.
