Great movie! I loved Emilio in this That truck freakin rocked! I loved the trailer by stephen King on the dvd. I loved all that weird stuff in the air.. One of my favorite parts is Kings Cameo "Hey honey this machine called me an *******!" The atm says **** you ******* to him over and over again and won't give him any money. All the machines shoot sodas out and kill people and they all go haywire. Theres this little boy who rides his bike around and sees this lawnmower run right over a man. And all these dead people.. I read the story Trucks was in one of SKs short story books. Great adaption of the movie and that girl who does lisa simpsons voice is in it shes so irratating its funny! Im going to add this to my collection you should check it out if you haven't already!

this movie is in the "it's so bad it's good" category. i love it for its sheer cheesiness alone. although i can see why shortly after the movie King said he'd never direct again LOL.

I thought it was great. And I just recently read the story. I thought I was awesome. It's so cheesy that it's amazing.

Yeah, we caught it on FearNet a couple weeks ago. The kids thought it was hilarious, but creepy, too.
What was up with that scary truck? In what universe would that NOT end up killing people?

I LOVE Maximum Overdrive!! I have seen it a number of times. I love the AC/DC soundtrack!! This movie is a hoot!! It does have scary/tense parts, but it also has some funny stuff too. It was great!!
As a sideline, I sat on the plane from LA to Atlanta next to the guy who got killed last by the goblin truck.

I never understood why Steve said he'd never direct again. I thought M.O. was great! Cheesy, yes but definitely worth watching, if only for the AC/DC soundtrack.
My son Jake who's now 11, loved it when he was younger. ;)

I just added this DVD to my collection and watched the movie for the first time! I really liked it! Loved the soundtrack! It's too bad it discouraged Steve from directing again. He has a lot more experience now and I think he would do a wonderful job now that he is older and wiser! ;)

This was a good, old-fashioned drive-in type movie. The kind they can't make anymore for some reason. Lots of fun without being idiotic like the endless Sci-fi original movies (or should I say "SY FY").

l saw it today for first time, and was fun.
The best, for me the beginning with the SK cameo and the just married girl. Is not really scary, just fun, and easy to see. Is not a movie to analyze.
I'm not american and l must say l love the trucks there hehe.
The text explanation at the end is like a joke, but well is just that, a text end lol.
I must say l prefer SK writing but, well, directing is not that bad.
Check this for me please:

This is my favorite SK movie. I know that in most SK circles that it is ranked pretty low, but I love it. When I was a kid, I must have watched it 100 times. The AC/DC tracks fit better than any other soundtrack that I can think of (especially "Who made Who" in the opening credits) We watched it for the first time when I was about 8yo at a slumber party at my house. Every time the Chomp, chomp, chomp came up, my friend would crawl under the bed. I loved it.

I still watch it any chance I get. Machinery or Technology coming to life on it's own is one of my biggest fears.
I remember watching Maximum Overdrive when I was little and then having the living daylights scared out of me when the TV in my room came on by itself. I was asleep and suddenly the tv blares into life, snow-static running like mad all over the screen and the volume all the way up. The TV was old and had a short in it but that still didn't help any, lol.
