I was so excited when DreamCatcher and Cell came out because aliens and zombies are two things that this nerd loves. I got to thinking, "What are some ideas for books that I wish Stephen King would write about?" Post some ideas here for The King to peruse.

Sorry, but as noted in the FAQ, Steve doesn't accept story ideas.

nice job with the spoiler button. I haven't even read Dreamcatcher yet and you ruined it. Good job!

That wasn't much of a spoiler, kisun. It's clear early on about aliens being part of the plot of Dreamcatcher. I think once you read it, you'll agree.:smile2:

I think it actually lets you know there are aliens on the book flap. Hey, SK doesn't have to accept the ideas. This is just a place for fans to dream.

I think a book about someone such as an astronaut or a regular guy going to another planet would be cool. This would allow for tons of possibilities with alien plants and creatures.

A spoiler would be if they told you at the end the aliens.....:biggrin2:

one of the posters a board aid something about working the night shift at Wal.Mart and how that would make a good King book- I think that is a GREAT idea!
My mother-in-law would fit nicely in a King book.:wink2:

Ha Ha LOL,
That is actually a great idea. SK could do wonders with a late night Wal-Mart story and the people who might work there.

I would like to see Mr. King take on werewolves. Just an all out bloody contemporary werewolf novel with a hellish twist. I know he's used them here and there but not as a plot piece. Perhaps some hostage crisis takes place at a hospital and one of the E.R. patients brought in has been recently bitten by a werewolf and the crisis turns into a complete gorezone.

I've never read King do a really long and gory book on werewolves. I think he could do it really well.

I take it you haven't read 'Cycle of the Werewolf'?
It's a book dedicated entirely to that subject. I really like it and it has some great artwork in it as well.

That was me. :biggrin2: Of course, Sai-King would probably wish to change the name of the organization first. ;)

That sounds like a sweet idea. I'd like to see something like that some day

How about an Invasion of the Body Snatchers type book? Or maybe a story about angels fighting demons, although this has been done by many others, I think that sai King could do much better.

Stephen King could write a book about the mating habits of flies or the the joys of watching paint dry and it would still be readable and enjoyable. i really enjoyed The Colorado Kid, i'd love to see him take on some more ideas in the hardboiled crime genre, something a little more hard edged than Kid tho.

As far as I know, he's never tried a novel about that, but there is a short story in Night Shift, with that basic premise. The name escapes me at the moment. You might like it. I didn't. Actually, only a bit of the story was on a different planet (Venus), but the story revolves around what happened there.

How does a person present an idea for a story to the masters? I am not a writer but beleive i have a good idea for a stephen king type story. I need a writer to run with it. I expect nothing in return except mention as a contributor.
Please read the FAQ. There may be other writers who accept story ideas but I honestly don't have specific names to suggest.

There's another futuristic planet hopping one in Skeleton Crew called Beachworld.

I've got to be honest, i'm not a big fan of alien stories, enjoyed Dream-catcher , i believe it was because of the way the relationship of the kids always interests me , and then the relationships with each other they had later on. Physic topics always caught my imagination. As too what i'd like him to write, anything.

Hi,
I've said this before, but I think it bears repeating.
I'd love him to write a book from an animal's perspective. Every time he does anthropomorphisise (Sp?) I think he does it brilliantly, vis Oy, Wolf, Kojak and Cujo.
Oy's backstory would be wonderful IMO.

I bought a copy, then put it off based on one bad review, the source of which I don't even remember (it wasn't here, though).
Staying on topic, I like the Walmart idea, too, as well as the hospital/werewolf thingy.

Beachworld rocked, btw.

If you want a great outer space or Mars author pick up some Ray Bradbury. He is such a poetic and prolific author.

Hi,
Damn, there's a whole list over here by me! :biggrin2:
But that is why I write, and why most writers do what they do, because there are ideas they want to see in books and great stories they want to read that aren't out there yet. I bet that even Sai King thought at some stage (for example) how cool it would be if someone would write about a man who can paint things into the real world (Duma Key).
Honestly though, I think King could write anything well.
Long days and pleasant nights
