What do you guys think will happen in Talisman 3? Me I'm thinking that Jack will have to go on another quest to find someway to be able to enter our world again. I hope we get to see some of the Dark Tower characters too.

Honestly? I can't even finish The Talisman. I don't know why. I really don't. I love books like these, but its not.. GRABBING me. I'm sure once I run out of reads, I will be picking this up again. For the third time. :biggrin2:

I noticed Talisman is a hard book to crack into but once you get threw the beginning and middle it really starts to get good. It was a hard book for me to crack. I think I also have to re read it but it does take awhile. Awesome book though. I think you will get a better understanding of it if you have read The Dark Tower.

Hi,
Personally, I hope Part 3 will see the convergence of The Territories/Mid-World and a meeting between Jack Sawyer and Roland.
Although that may just be wishful thinking on my part.

I loved The Talisman, had more trouble with Black House. I think the only thing that got me through Black House was the Dark Tower connections. I hope that #3 is as good as #1. I do love Wolf, here and now.:bat:

It was mentioned in Black House that Jack can enter our world for short periods of time, so I expect that to happen.
Also, Mr. King mentioned that Jack had a role to play in Roland's quest for the Tower, so I think we'll see something familiar, something we've taken for granted, cast in a new light.
I also think that there will be more references to Mr. Straub's Blue Rose books and to Ghost Story.

What if the Horn of Eld that Roland found himself with at the end of the Dark Tower cycle made his quest following that his last...
What if Talisman 3 concerned Jack Sawyer and Roland Deschain searching for the Dark Tower and actually finding out what was truly through that door? What Gan would never let Roland see until he learned what he needed to?
I hope Talisman 3 is the 8th book in the Dark Tower cycle, informally speaking.

I wasn't even aware that there was a third Talisman book planned. I am drooling on the keyboard - hope it doesn't shock me:eek:

I read Black House and then The Talisman, the wrong order I know. I have never read any of the Dark Tower novels, but I shall now, knowing the connection now with The Territories.

It might be too much to hope for to have Roland and Jack together. That is interesting and I will have to think about that. They certainly could pass by each other in their respective quests. I am hoping for a little more "Henry" in the third book. I need to check out more of Straub's books as well.

yeah I would like to see Jack come into the Callas right after the fight or something like that. something that is SO ingrained into the Tower series that it is impossible not to see. or something like Jack getting to the Dixie Pix RIGHT after they kill Father Callahan and it was because of Jack that Jake was really able to get away

Talisman #3? When? Where? Who? Hey, do you know what the title will be?

You don't honestly think King and Straub put that last bit in Black House there by chance where they said that Jack might help with the Tower, and it was possibly too late in the series for them to give Jack Sawyer fans a great adventure with him.. so perhaps they were both hinting at T3 being the last book in the Dark Tower series, the 8th one -- maybe nearly like the 7th one just more climatic and featuring perhaps a few different things along Roland's quest that might have made his entrance to the Dark Tower room possible but might have complicated getting there in the first place. :smile2:

ok gus I think I may have figured something out, either that or I am grasping at straws. I got this off of Wiki:
The Unfulfilled Prophecy
In Insomnia, it is clearly stated that Patrick would save two men shortly before his death, and that one of these men must not die in order to maintain cosmic balance. In the seventh Dark Tower novel, Roland visits our world where meets the "Calvins" (named after Calvin Tower, a bookkeeper who owned the vacant lot that had the Rose), a group of scholars who analyze the Dark Tower series and its related novels.
They tell Roland the plot of Insomnia, and speculate that Gan's song that King transcribes when writing his novels was possibly muddled and that Insomnia may not be all that accurate. While Patrick is very important to Roland's quest, he does not die saving two people.
in fact he does not die at all! I believe the second man he will save before he dies will be good ol Travelin Jack! they are BOTH in Midworld at the same time now (or atleast Rolands "when")

Personally, I can't wait for the third installment of The Talisman. That book is one of my favourites; it was such an inspiration when I was younger.

I finished The Talisman last week. I've read most of Black House a few years ago but don't remember it too well, I'm re-reading it right now. The Talisman rocks and I know Black House does too. I can't wait for the 3rd one!!!

When do they plan to start? Hopefully next, since SK just finished "Under the Dome".

I don't know what Peter has on his "to do" list, but Steve has other things on his schedule even though the first draft of Under the Dome is finished so I don't see them getting together in 2009.

Hi,
(Sigh) I don't suppose you could be talked into repeating the pre-W&G nag (for which thankee big-big), Ms Mod?

Mind you, the prospect of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County reaching the stage is pretty good anyway.

It's actually kind of odd to me that some have had trouble getting into these two books as they are among my all time favorites, but to each their own...I personally love the fact that Stephen and Peter have decided to continue the story! Can't wait!!!

I'm curious about that as well. I read that it'll be two years before King's schedule allows for work on the third instalment, so that means there must be other books coming down the line.

I also think that there will be more references to Mr. Straub's Blue Rose books. . .
Now there was a book I simply could not finish. Don't know why, but I always died rounding the far turn and heading into the home stretch. Three times now.

Well, Black House is already pretty much grounded in the DT universe, so I think that it's inevitable that the 3rd instalment will be DT as well.
But you never know...
