Unfortunately, here in Argentina is not that easy to find SK books, at least not the old ones. You can find the latest ones, such as Cell, Lisey's story or even Desperation, but that's it.
I've been trying to get a copy of Rage for years but that seems like Mission Impossible.
Hey, Rage is definitely available at the moment on Amazon in The Bachman Books and it is ridiculously cheap..i would recommend this book to you as for some strange reason i love The Long Walk story in it..guess its all to do with a survival of the fittest mentality.:grinning:
Either way this is a good site for you to go on if you find it hard to find books cos they have loads of SK's..personally i dont understand how people can bear to part with their books:sad:

Picked up 'Living Dead' the other day. I think I've already read the King story, 'Home Delivery', that's in the collection... but the Joe Hill one will be interesting. Not to mention how grouping zombie stories together is an awesome idea! It really puts you in the mood for grossness.
I mean, in the first story I read in the book, the dangerous kid was dragging and leading a zombie boy around by sticking his finger through the soft skin under the zombie boys chin.
Yeah, I needed some good imaginary fuel for the fire in my mind. Thank you to all who participated!

Hi,
If it's the first edition stand alone publication then it really is 'Mission Financially Unfeasible', but if it's just the story you want to read then it was published in the Bachman books for many years (though not in the current edition!) and should be easily available from E-bay or Amazon.
Long days and pleasant night
JD, there are times when the things that you come up with make me laugh so hard I darn near have an accident. :eek2: "Mission Financially Unfeasible", how do you come up with this stuff? Have a great weekend.

That's a great find John!
I received 2 boxes in the mail the past couple days, Both from eBay. 1 was only partial though, angry about that.
1st box was from an overly obsessive collector, and I guess because I bought it, it makes me overly obsessive as well. This guy had all sorts of stuff in the box. It seemed like he printed every web page that has ever mentioned Stephen King. It also had a few older mags with Stephen King stuff. TV Guide from the Shining remake miniseries, a New Yorker magazine, a printing of The Plant, some screen plays. overall, a lot of mish-mash.
2nd box was a guy on eBay that was selling 5 sets of 4 different "First Edition" books. I ended up getting all 5 for just under $35. not bad for 20 books. Problem is that the box only had 9 in it. I'm hoping he sent them in 2 boxes, but I'm skeptical. Either way, They WERE all first editions, not book clubs, even really old ones like Cujo.
In the box were, all match the description of First Editions per the official pdf (http://www.stephenking.com/other/identifying_first_editions.pdf):
Skeleton crew
Cujo
Bag Of Bones
Talisman
Four Past Midnight
Dark Love
Dark Half
Insomnia
Hearts In Atlantis
These are missing from what I had won in the auctions. If these are 1st/1st as well, I'll be excited if he actually delivers on them:
It
Delores Claiborne
Rose Madder
Needful Things
The Stand
Tommyknockers
Dreamcatcher
Misery
Gerald's Game
Fire Starter
Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Haunted

I bought Just After Sunset at work last night. It finally came in, and by the time I saw it there was just one copy left. Needless to say, I hid it in the back room with a note on it saying that I would buy it. It's at home, in my library now. I won't read it until I finish Secret Windows by SK and Heart Shaped Box by his son.
I read SK and I sleep well, although lately, I am starting to have part of my dreams in German. WOOOHOOOO!!!!

if it weren't for their $5 off coupons and 20%sale it would've been about $20. am glad i bought those but i almost bought Firestarter which i already have but didn't remember if i had it and i also wanted to get Bachman Books but i couldn't make myself buy it because i already had a copy of the Long Walk. also i had to get Cycle because that was the first time i ever saw it in a store. was the quickest read since i finished it that day. currently on Running Man.

I just ordered a hardcover NoS copy of Secret Windows: Essays and Fiction on the Craft of Writing as a Christmas gift for my wife. She had mentioned wanting it at some point but finding an unused hardcover copy (to put away, not read, since she has a copy that she's read and re-read) was actually not such an easy task as most of the copies that she could find out there were used, so I had to keep an eye on re-sellers until I found someone who had an NoS hardcover copy. The process took me a few days.

Hi All! I just got home yesterday from a trip to Seattle to visit my family and do some serious bookshopping. Here in Spokane, WA where I live there aren't many used bookstores or thrift stores and the ones that are here don't have a very good selection. Anyway, while in a Value Village (thrift store) I found (and bought!) an ex-library copy of The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger second Grant printing for only $2.99 plus tax!! Yes, that two dollars and ninety-nine cents!! The book itself is in pretty good shape with only one library stamp (on bottom outside edges of pages), remnants of the card sleeve in front and minor moisture damage to the first 5 or 6 pages. The dustjacket would've been in excellent condition if someone hadn't of cut off both inside flaps (!!!!!!????) and pasted them to the last page. Luckily, I was able to remove them and place them inside the broadart cover where they belong. But, for what I paid I think it's an excellent find!! I love shopping thrift stores, you just never know what you'll find inside! I also found, at various used bookstores this weekend, a nice large paperback copy of The Bachman Books (black cover version, $1.99), an 11th paperback printing of The Running Man ($1.00, I aim to have a copy of this book in all it's printings, don't ask why!) and a MINT trade paperback copy of Danse Macabre ($1.99!). I urge all of you to hit up your local used bookstores and/or thrift stores!

I belong to a book swapping club in the uk called www.readitswapit.co.uk.This is where i get most of my SK books from and the best thing about it is, as long as you have a book that someone else wants to read, all you have to do is pay the cost of posting the book (about £2) which is a bargain! my latest swap was cell which took just over 1 week to read - and was marvellous.

Just had three days off in a row so I decided to head over to the Seattle area to visit family and of course I had to do some book shopping at the area's used bookstores. Man did I SCORE!!! I usually go to the HalfPrice bookstores, I can always find some obscure King item to add to my collection. I was at the Bellevue Crossroads location and was looking thru their glass case where they keep the more rare and expensive items. Someone must have brought in their King collection as I saw A really nice 1st printing of the original version of The Stand ($50), a signed copy of the UK edition of Wizards & Glass ($500) and some other ones that I can't remember right now. Didn't want any of the ones there so I went over to the horror section and started looking thru the regular King books. They usually charge anywhere from $4.98 to $7.98 for the used hardbacks. I pulled off the only hardback copy of Bag Of Bones, checked the price sticker on the front which said $4.98, opened it up to the title page and right there in black ink see that it is AUTOGRAPHED by SK!!!!!! WoooHoooooo!!!! What a score!!! This was certainly overlooked by the book buyers the day this was brought in by someone to sell to the store as they would've charged at least $100 for this signed copy! I made it a habit to always check copies of BoB's when I find them as SK made an appearance in Seattle when it was 1st published and I got to see him in person at that old church in The University District but wasn't able to get my book signed by him. I knew someday I would find a signed copy and it took me ten years to do it, but I did it!! Let me tell you, I nearly ran out of that store after I paid my $5 and some odd cents (after taxes!)!!!! It was almost as good as when I found a mint 1st printing hardback of Carrie for $7.99!!!! Now, that time I DID run out of the store after buying it. I kept waiting for an employee to jump out and say 'We were just kidding, it's really $798!!!' I LOVE used bookstores!!!

today i got the gem of my collection. it is a 1993 hodder and stoughton edition of nightmares and dreamscapes. it is in a dark green slip case and the book is in the same dark green. on the front cover there is an imprint of a child like creature with wings. the best part is that it is signed by stephen king!!! it was a lucky find in a small rare book shop. i can gaurantee there is no other limited editions like this for sale in new zealand. you may wonder how much it put me back, but it was only $76.50 NZD which is $50.44USD! it is the most I have paid for a SK book so far but it was worth it. Duma Key! Still trying to find out why Secretary of Dreams is so danged expensive tho!!!
Secretary of dreams is so worth the price!! It's a limited edition (and so far the ONLY edition) of this book from Cemetary Dance. The illustrations by artist Glen Chadborne are excellant and complement each and every story in this volume. It's an oversized book too, larger than the regular books you can find at the local bookstore. If you're thinking about getting a copy, just do it as you won't be disappointed. :smile2:

Go back and check around, I found the hardback edition of The Long Road Home for the same price a couple of weeks ago. There was only one copy left, but they still had about 8 copies of The Gunslinger Born. Go figure.....:smile2:

We're All In This Together 1st edition signed by Owen King (ok it's not Stephen but it's Owen). I'm only missing an autograph from Tabitha (which I know I can find from Overlook Connection) and Naomi (which I don't know where I'm gonna find one at) to have all the living King family members autographs.

My most recent purchase was at a library sale. It was amazing, all you had to do was fill up a paper bag with books and you paid 5 dollars for it. I got Eyes of the dragon, Pet Semetary, misery, it, the dead zone, cell, the tommyknockers, thinner, on writing, dream catcher, and the talisman all for 5 bucks in hardcover. Also picked up Rushdie's Satanic Verses in hardcover at the same time. It was a great day. I love living in a small town.

My most recent was American Nightmares # 5. I'm following the series faithfully, and even though I've already read the source material twice.
Next up will probably be the next story arc of comic in October, and probably the first issue of The Talisman as well, also in October.

I am noob here.
Not noob to the Masterful SK
I believe i now own one copy of each published work he has produced to my knowledge as SK,
and a few as Bachman.
I purchased the bulk this year.
It was after reading the four novels I owned but had not read, in less than two weeks, that I bought the rest,
and began writing. These purchases were made @ Amazon.com and also local bookstores, (original hardback first ed. first printing Christine for ten bucks!):)
as well as DAV stores(hardbacks for $0.50!) woah!
I am reading book 6 of the DT series now.
My life is in difficulty now.
I am writing,
but my computer/work space is in a hallway between the fu&n kitchen and living room.
My first passion is guitar.
my guitar gear is in the living room.
I dont need to describe in detail to any sure SK reader,
that this is unacceptable.
To make it worse,
my 'genius' wife seems to have no care, or any f'n clue,
as to any problem presented by these facts,
and so while I tried to work on a short story i have been editing and polishing for over three months,
she busted out with a truly hideous piano piece which uses no sharps or flats, and played it loud.
argh!@!!!!!!!!!!!
damnit.
I need a grant in order to purchase work space to continue my work,
or i will have to get a job,
which i am not good at keeping.
Cheers!

Now, how cool is that ?
I bought a new copy of Wizzard and Glass, had a old one and it bothered me that it was second hand...and since I`m almost done with " Wastelands " and W&G is next, I wanna read a book that no hand has touched yet before mine.
Silly, I know, but hey, that`s how much we love Steve.:)
