"The One I Love" by David Gray

"Perfect summers night
Not a wind that breathes
Just the bullets whispering gentle
'mongst the new green leaves
There's things I might have said
Only wish I could
Now I'm leaking life faster
Then I'm leaking blood

Tell the repo man
And the stars above
You're the one I love
You're the one I love
The one I love"

Singin' in the rain, just singin' in the rain!

Seriously,it's been pouring all day long... Even the deer in the park were standing under trees so as not to get wet. As I was biking home, wearing my mega-rainsuit and umbrella, I came by this park and a deer was looking at me and it asked me if he could borrow my umbrella...(that last thing was my imagination, but it was such a sudden thought I burst out laughing!)
I wanted to tell this but I didn't know where else to put it...

"Dizzy, drunk and fightin'
On tequila white lightnin'
My glass is getting shorter
On whiskey, ice and water
So come on and have a good time
And get blinded out of your mind

So don't worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the check
We'll get hell to pay

Have a drink on me

Yeah, have a drink on me

Have a drink on me

"The Last Palaver" by Squidmack, you can find it on Youtube by typing "dark Tower" into the search.

The first time I heard it this song made me pause, and being from a musical background I hear a lot of songs but few pause me like that one. I remember going to the piano and plinking out a few chords, and then.. I just picked it up. ( a version of the song none will get to hear sadly.) I played along, and I guess when one entangles a part of themself in something someone else creates, you can get lost in it in a good way. we all know that feeling, I am sure, and all too well. :P

ever since I go back every few days and listen, captivated by the epic quality of the song based on an epic tale, one constant reader, I think you are smart enough to know considering the title of the song. :) I guess I just vibed with it and though I usually listen to more high adrenaline stuff, I do repose even in my music sometimes letting it be a whole-being experience and this song fits that bill perfect regardless if one can agree that it fits the DT series and Roland.

Or maybe thats my imagination. I would not go so far as to say ' maybe its the song of the Rose' but I might get close. Alas, even I could not say it and its a great theme for the day, maybe three. :)

backstroke lover always hidin' 'neath the covers
till I talked to your daddy, he say
he said "you ain't seen nothin' till you're down on a muffin
then you're sure to be a-changin' your ways"
I met a cheerleader, was a real young bleeder
oh, the times I could reminisce
'cause the best things of lovin' with her sister and her cousin
only started with a little kiss
like this!

seesaw swingin' with the boys in the school
and your feet flyin' up in the air
singin' "hey diddle diddle"
with your kitty in the middle of the swing
like you didn't care
so I took a big chance at the high school dance
with a missy who was ready to play
wasn't me she was foolin'
'cause she knew what she was doin'
and I knowed love was here to stay
when she told me to

walk this way, walk this way
walk this way, walk this way
walk this way, walk this way
walk this way, walk this way
just gimme a kiss
like this!

schoolgirl sweetie with a classy kinda sassy
little skirt's climbin' way up the knee
there was three young ladies in the school gym locker
when I noticed they was lookin' at me
I was a high school loser, never made it with a lady
till the boys told me somethin' I missed
then my next door neighbor with a daughter had a favor
so I gave her just a little kiss
like this!

seesaw swingin' with the boys in the school
and your feet flyin' up in the air
singin' "hey diddle diddle"
with your kitty in the middle of the swing
like you didn't care
so I took a big chance at the high school dance

METALLICA - ENTER SANDMAN

Say your prayers little one
Dont forget, my son
To include everyone

Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Somethings wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they arent of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragons fire
And of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby, dont say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
Its just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Were off to never never land

Sleep well tonight and Happy Halloween!!! Bwah ha ha!!!

I Want Candy
Mc Chris

I want candy, bubblegum and taffy
Skip to the sweet shop with my sweet hot Sandy
Got my pennies saved, so I'm her sugar daddy
I'm her Hume Cronyn and she's my Jessica Tandy
I want candy

Put it in a pop
Split it wit my biddy, 50-50 down the line
Kinda like close encounters of the cavity kind
Talkin' licorice kisses, talkin' chocolate-dowsed smiles
I want candy: I got a sugar tooth
Put on your shin guards, Sandy, 'cuz I wanna knock boots
Lick the peppermint stick 'til the lollipop droops
Gumdrops that don't stop 'til the lip locks loose

I need candy, bubblegum and taffy
Get in my way punk, you're gonna get your ass beat, nasty
Do it 'til your dad sees, embarrass your whole family
Just because you came between a kid and his candy

I need candy, any kind'll do
Don't care if it's nutritious or FDA approved
It's gonna make me spaz like bobcats on booze
A hyperactive juice that only I can produce, that fuels a giant drill

That bores straight into hell
Releasin' ancient demons from their sleep forever spell
So they can walk upon the earth and get resituated
And hawk the diet pills MC Pee Pants has created

I need candy, want some candy, eat candy 'til I'm dead
I'll kill you for some candy, give me candy, candy-head
Where you keepin' all the candy? Who made you candy king?
If you don't give me some candy, I will make the ladies sing

Mess up the mix
Mix up the mess
Come on down, yo

ATB - Justify

And it's fine
To complicate it
Complicateds all I've ever known

I was there
Did you see me
Frozen in a flash put on the wall

But now is when I guess
"I least expect it"
But i will never ask
How did we get this far
My god

Even if I doubt for just a second
I can still find the right in being wrong
So wrong

I can't do it any other way
Repeat I'd do it all the same way
And I won't justify
One more time

All I ever needed was justification. Thank you baby. The reward is yours.

"Everything" by Michael Buble

"You're a falling star, You're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.

And you play it coy, but it's kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.

And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
'Cause you're my everything.
Yeah, yeah

So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La"

Today my theme song ties in w/my family.
As everyone was gettin' up and doing their thing to get ready for the day, I was struck by how up-beat, cooperative, and enthusiastic we were to get going on our separate little adventures we may have in store for us.
Also, as sometimes happens, the songs I gave my kids shortly after their births came to mind:
My oldest child(and only son):"Love Me Like A Rock", by Paul Simon
My second(and oldest girl):"You Are My Sunshine", Hank Sr. version
My middle girl:"Yes Sir, That's My Baby"(w/a few lyrics changes to fit), by Jimmy Durante
My baby(4 yr old)girl: "Julia Rose", by yours truly
My Man and My song:"Can't Help Falling In Love" by The King

Anyway, all this brings me to my song for today.

"Lifes Been Good", by Joe Walsh(in his Eagles incarnation, I believe). Most of the Lyrics have nothing to do w/my life, obviously, but the sentiment is EXACTLY the same.

Just felt like sharing:biggrin2:

Anyone catch the Eagles on the Country Music Awards last week? Hate to change the subject, but my theme song is and always will be Jim Croce's Big Fat Woman.

You big fat woman get your fat leg off of me
You big fat woman get your fat leg off of me
You feel so good
Scare the hell out of me
You got a great big leg
Got a whoppin' thigh
Great big leg
Got a whoppin' thigh
Now oooh
You got a great big leg
Got a whoppin' thigh
And every time you move make my temperature rise
That fine lookin' woman got a great big leg
Fine lookin' woman got a great big leg, Yeah
Big fat woman with a great big leg
Big fat woman got a great big leg
And every time she moves
Moves like a soft boiled egg

So big fat woman get your fat leg off of me
Now you obese woman get your fat leg off of me
You feel so good
Scare the hell out of me

I especially like the part about "fine looking woman". But I heard a song on the radio yesterday that is rising on my charts. A parody? Is that the word? A song about eating and Thanksgiving based on Willie Nelson's On the Road Again.

Heard it once, so don't quote me on it:

I'm a load again!
Just too afraid to get on the scale again!
Life is watching football with my friends...
I'm a load again! (Or is it lode?...dunno.)

There's a bunch more, but I think you get the picture. Imagine a whoppin' thigh. I am losing weight, though. A can of green beans a day. Walking. I was in Woman's Attire the other day, Walmart, and some slinky little thing made this disgusting, disturbing sound coming out of the Changing Booth. Apparently, she'd have to use more butter to get her pants on. I could choke someone! I'm a a lode again!

Now everything's about to fall apart

Interesting--I was just listening to UB40's version of this song--have you heard it?

I need something to counteract the hideous Christmas mix they are playing over and over and over at work!

No, I have not. Have to look into it. Thanks. It's a great song. And the words are very fitting sometimes.

Yeah. The Goddess knows she can use me. But don't ever think I don't get exactly what I want from it. ;)

From "Veracuz" by Warren Zevon

Someone called Maria's name
I swear it was my father's voice
Saying, "If you stay you'll all be slain
You must leave now - you have no choice
Take the servants and ride west
Keep the child close to your chest
When the American troops withdraw
Let Zapata take the rest"

I heard Woodrow Wilson's guns
I heard Maria calling
Saying, "Veracruz is dying
And Guernavaca's fallen"

It's really soppy, but I like it. Very calming music.

Moonlight Sonata from Beethoven. It was the first piece of music I taught myself how to play on the piano. I listen to it when I’m down because it cheers me up. And I’m not feeling very happy right now.

This one is a really pretty song. I just heard it for the first time.

Evanescence - So Close

I've spent so much time throwing rocks at your window
That I never even knocked on the front door

I walk by statues never even made one chip
but if i could leave a mark on the monument of the heart
I just might lay myself down for a little more than I had the last day

Wait a time to spare these lies we tell ourselves
These days have come and gone
But this time is sweeter than honey

Heart Of Gold ~ Neil Young

I want to live, I want to give
I've been a minerfor a heart of gold.
It's these expressions I never give
That keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
