From September, a song called 'Satellites'
Even an angel can end up falling
Don't you cry, because you're crawling
Start again, it's a beautiful morning
For satellites
[lyrics cont...]
Well, they said it was time for changing
Rise and shine
Everybody's making it, but you
And they told you to trust your dreaming
But it's hard to believe a feeling
That you just don't know
You can try and walk on water
In the end everybody
Walks all over you
No, you don't like the sight of mirrors
Cause you're scared that the face
Will see, will look just like before
All I want is you
Let me take you back
Where you once belong
All I want is you
It will be alright if you come along
You were never gone
Even an angel can end up falling
Don't you cry, because you're crawling
Start again, it's a beautiful morning
For satellites

Suzanne Nadine Vega singing 'Bound'
The way of the world
Has taken its toll
Ravaged my body
And bitten my soul
[lyrics cont...]
I am ruined by rain
Weathered by wind
I've been invaded
Without and within
Once you said
I'm made of fine stuff.
But I've been corrupted.
And taken enough.
Now you appear.
Making your claim.
Inside my heart
Is the sign of your name.
And I ask
I am asking you
Asking you if you
Might still want me?
All these words
Like darling and angel and dear
Crowd my mouth
In a path to your ear.
When I said:
I am bound to you forever
Here's what I meant:
I am bound to you forever.
Aww baby. It's not in your power or anyone elses, to get me, to not want you.

Thunder Road- Bruce Springsteen
The screen door slams
Mary's dress waves
Like a vision she dances across the porch
As the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonel
Hey that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again
Don't run back inside
darling you know just what I'm here for
So you're scared and you're thinking
That maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith, there's magic in the night
You ain't a beauty, but hey you're alright
Oh and that's alright with me
You can hide 'neath your covers
And study your pain
Make crosses from your lovers
Throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain
For a savior to rise from these streets
Well now I'm no hero
That's understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl
Is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now
Except roll down the window
And let the wind blow back your hair
Well the night's busting open
These two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back
Heaven's waiting on down the tracks...
Been listening to this song all the way ride home, amazing how a song and the wind blowing through your hair can make you feel free...

LOL. It just means we have good taste is all. :) But I would have to say "Born To Run" is my favorite, followed closely by "Thunder Road". But "Magic" is really growing on me.
But I am just on a Bruce kick lately so I going to go ahead and triple up today... love the entrance to this one.
"Pink Cadillac" by Bruce Springsteen
"You may think Im fooling
For the foolish things I do
You may wonder how come I love you
When you get on my nerves like you do
Well baby, you know you bug me
There aint no secret about that
Well come on over here and hug me
And, baby, Ill spill the facts
Well, honey it aint your money
Cause baby I got plenty of that
I love you for your pink cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back, oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a saturday night
Honey, I just wonder what you do there in back of your pink cadillac
Pink cadillac"

"Take the light, undarken everything around me
Call the clouds and listen closely I'm lost without you
Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Hate the mind, regrets are better left unspoken
For all we know, this void will grow
And everything's in vain, distressing you though it leaves me open
Feels so right, but I'll end this all before it gets me
Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Call your name every day when I seem so helpless
I've fallen down, and I'll rise above this, rise above this doubt
I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)
I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)
Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Forty eight ways to say that I'm feelin' helpless
I'm Falling down, falling down, but I'll rise above this, rise above this,
Rise above this, rise above this doubt"

"The Day That Never Comes" by Metallica
"Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When you stand up and feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes, no...
The sunshine never comes
Love is a four letter word
And never spoken here
Love is a four letter word
Here in this prison
I suffer this no longer
I put it into this I swear!
This I swear!
The sun will shine
This I swear!
This I swear!
This I swear!"

"The Fire Inside" by Bob Seger
"Then you walk to the window and stare at the moon
Riding high and lonesome through a starlit sky
And it comes to you how it all slips away
Youth and beauty are gone one day
No matter what you dream or feel or say
It ends in dust and disarray
Like wind on the plains, sand through the glass
Waves rolling in with the tide
Dreams die hard and we watch them erode
But we cannot be denied
The fire inside
Burning you up!

. . .This was never the way I planned, not my intention
I got so brave, drink in hand, lost my discretion
It's not what I'm used to, just wanna try you on
I'm curious for you caught my attention
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong, it felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it
No, I don't even know your name, it doesn't matter
You're my experimental game, just human nature
It's not what good girls do, not how they should behave
My head gets so confused, hard to obey
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong, it felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it
Us girls we are so magical
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable
Hard to resist, so touchable
Too good to deny it
It ain't no big deal, it's innocent
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong, it felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight

"Hello, Ive waited here for you, everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into and out of the red, out of her head she sang
Come down and waste away with me, down with me
Slow how, you wanted it to be, Im over my head, out of her head she sang
And I wonder when I sing along with you if everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing Ill ever ask of you
Youve got to promise not to stop when I say when she sang
Breathe out, so I can breathe you in, hold you in
And now, I know youve always been out of your head, out of my head I sang
And I wonder when I sing along with you if everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing Ill ever ask of you
Youve got to promise not to stop when I say when she sang
And I wonder if everything could ever feel this real forever

My themesong today would be a band called Chicane, doing a song called, 'No Ordinary Morning'
Here's part of the chorus -
If there was nothing that I could say
Turned your back and you just walked away
Leaves me numb inside I think of you
Together is all I knew
We moved too fast but I had no signs
I would try to turn the hands of time
I look to you for the reason why
The love we had passed me by
And as the sun would set you would rise
Fall from the sky into paradise
Is there no light in your heart for me
You've closed your eyes you don't longer see
There were no lies between me and you
You said nothing of what you knew
But there was still something in your eyes
Left me helpless and paralyzed

Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves
Everyone knows I'm in

With eight seconds left in overtime

Monday morning: Hesitate, I can't get out of bed
I'd rather go back to the dreams I'm living in my head
Tuesday evening: Pack my bags, I'm heading out the door
I left a box of memories lying on the floor
I'm running from the city lights
I'm running from this empty life
I'm running out of time tonight
I'm screaming out for "Help! Help!"
"Slow down, your moving too fast
Go home, you'll feel better for it
Oh boy, you better stop dreaming
It's all in your head!"
'Cause it's too late now...
Ride on, ride till early morning sun
Ride on, like the dawning of the day
It's too late, to let all your feelings show
Go on, til the night is swept away...

Hiding all my crimes and then
Forgetting all my ideas
Take a look at me

This one is so epic but I started my day off today by cranking it up and putting it on loop while I did my morning routine:
Freedom Call - "Warriors"
At night, high up in the heavens we fight
Faster than lightning we strike
Like fires that rip through the night
Surrounded by light
Raging thunder in the skies
Time has come to sacrifice
We are warriors, born from the light
An army for freedom, defenders of life
Warriors, euphoria will rise
Returning from darkness we bury all lies
The knights, outcast and lost in the skies
Returning to heaven denid
Louder than thunder we ride
Ready to strike
Call for us and you will survive
Follow us to paradise
We are warriors, born from the light
An army for freedom, defenders of life
Warriors, euphoria will rise
Returning from darkness we bury all lies

Let's just say some music inspired my husband. The polite way of saying it is that a long drought is over. And on SK's Bday nonetheless! I will NEVER forget Last Night.

Lacuna Coil - Aeon
There is something
in your eyes
flowing them over
stealing all the harmony
which lives in me
your hands are covering my tears
oh, why
There's a sort
of inner dance
trying to seduce me
feeling this anomaly
which takes me
Your touch
You're here
Your heart
I love their sound and Christina Scabbia's voice!!

Snake River Conspiracy - Breed
...
Somebody says, somebody says, somebody says
I love you
All those years you never knew
All the things that I could do
I keep them in a hidden place
So I could rub them in your face
Somebody says, somebody says, somebody says
I made you, I made you, I made you, I made you, I made you
Breed, Breed on your own
Always alone
You suffering clone
Maybe you're not good enough
Good enough to make me blush
So many reasons I can find
To kill this little clone of mine
...
Man, she does it dirty. I love the way the song creeps up on you, hammers, but then goes back to the slow dangerous pulsing rythm... Mmmm... you are sooooo part of my bank account honey. No two ways about it.

I, on the other hand, am having trouble facing Monday. "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman comes closest to explaining...

I'll take anything by Alannis Morrisette today. Preferably some of her older stuff. I really have to go rummaging through all of those CD's there are in the basement. I know there's some somewhere...

I was lucky enough to see them twice, both outdoor concerts: in Santa Fe, NM, and in Irvine, CA, both in the 80s. My husband saw them play in Winterland a few times (he grew up an hour north of San Francisco).

Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street
Cant you hear the pitter-pat
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade
But Im not afraid...this rover? s crossed over
If I never had a cent
Id be rich as rockefeller
Gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade with them blues on parade
Now Im not afraid... this rover has crossed over
Now if I never made one cent
I? ll still be rich as rockefeller
There will be goldust at my feet
On the sunny
On the sunny, sunny side of the street
