Well, I thought it was kinda cool, actually. I like her more than Elvis (this from a woman who onced named a cat Elvis) so I do like them both, but at the moment, I favor her to him.

And no, I don't think having more number one hits neccesarily makes someone a better artist. For instance, some of these American Idol winners have had them (I guess) Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood - and I can't say I think they're very great artists.

But...

The Beatles have more than anybody & I do think they are the greatest artists/band ever, so in their case, I agree.

I definitely agree with you about the Beatles, hands down. :biggrin2:

Kinda I Want To - Nine Inch Nails

and for some reason, I have that line from Alice In Wonderland stuck in my head, where the queen is yelling at the guy reading the list of charges to "Get to the part, where I loose my temper!"

Dunno how that's relevant, but I can't think of the song without that line right now.

Although, everything on the NIN album 'Pretty Hate Machine' could probably be my theme song today. It's just this song just has this so 'up up up, go go go, it's time dawg', kinda vibe to it.

Tra la... It's May
The lusty month of May
That darling month when everyone throws
Self control away.
It's time to do
A wretched thing or two
And try to make each precious day
One you'll always rue.
It's May... It's May
The month of "yes you may."
The time for every frivolous whim
Proper or "im"
It's wild, it's gay.
A blot in every way.
The birds and bees with all of their vast
Amorous past
Gaze at the human race aghast.
The lusty month of May.

My theme song friday was "Zombie" by the Cranberries. I stayed up all night studying for a test ... yep, I felt like a Zombie. I think I got into the whole meaning of what a Zombie does and feels like ...

My eyes were wide open. I was full of energy drinks. When I finally got home after the test, I would lay down and try to sleep. Then I would get up and look for something to eat. Then try to sleep. Then I would do a Zombie walk around the house. I felt like I had something to get done. What? I don't know. Then, BOOM! I was out like a light!

When she sings it's over
Such a strange numb
And it brings my knees to the earth

And God bless you all
For the song you saved us...

You're the same...numb
When you sing it's over
Such a strange numb
It could bring back peace to the earth

So God bless you all
For the song you saved us...oh...
For the hearts you break, everytime you moan...

I get all...numb
We're the same numb
And it brings our knees to the earth

So God bless you all

Long Hard Road out of Hell Marilyn Manson

"Long Hard Road Out Of Hell"

I want to fly into your sun
Need faith to make me numb
Live like a teenage christ
Im a saint, got a date with suicide

Oh Mary, Mary
To be this young is oh so scary
Mary, Mary
To be this young im oh so scared
I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell
I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell

You never said forever, could ever hurt like this
You never said forever, could ever hurt like this

Spin my way out of hell, theres nothing left this soul to sell

Live fast and die fast too
How many times to do this for you?
How many times to do this for you?

Mary, Mary
To be this young im oh so scared
I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell
I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell

You never said forever, could ever hurt like this
You never said forever, could ever hurt like this

I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell

Long hard road, out of hell

I wanna live, I wanna love
But its a long hard road, out of hell

The day i tried to live - soundgarden

I woke the same as any other day
Except a voice was in my head
It said seize the day, pull the trigger
Drop the blade, and watch the rolling heads

The day I tried to live
I stole a thousand beggars change
And gave it to the rich

The day I tried to win
I dangled from the power lines
And let the martyrs stretch
Singing

One more time around might do it
One more time around might make it
One more time around might do it
One more time around
The day I tried to live

Words you say never seem
To live up to the ones inside your head
The lives we make never seem
To ever get us anywhere but dead

The day I tried to live
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
All the other pigs

I woke the same as any other day you know
I should have stayed in bed

The day I tried to win
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
All the other pigs

And I learned that I was a liar
Just like you

One of my all time favorites, I have heard about four versions of this song. I own two of them, I enjoy Metallica's version. It is more rock, the Segar is good... I don't care for the slow jazzy one. Of course I am talking about, Turn the Page, that is my song for today. I am going down another road that will hopefully lead me to a brighter future.

on a long and lonesome highway east of Omaha
you can listen to the engines, moanin' out as one long song
you can think about the woman, or the girl you knew the night before

but your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do
when you're riding sixteen hours and there's nothing much to do
you don't feel much like ridin', you just wish the trip was through

[CHORUS:]
but here I am, on the road again
here I am, up on the stage
here I go, playing the star again
there I go, turn the page

you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road
and you feel the eyes upon you, as you're shaking off the cold
you pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode
and most times you can hear 'em talk, other times you can't

all the same 'ole cliches: is that a woman or is that a man?
and you always seem outnumbered, you dare not make a stand, make your stand.

[CHORUS]

out there in the spotlight, your a million miles away
every ounce of energy, you try to give away
and the sweat pours from your body, like the music that you play
later in the evening, as you lie awake in bed
with the echoes of the amplifiers, ringin' in your head
you smoke the days last cigarette, rememberin' what she said

EDWIN STARR lyrics - War
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

Get up, Get up now...
Free yourself from yourself...

Locked up inside you,
like the calm beneath castles,
is a cavern of treasures that
no one has been to.
Let's go digging
Let's go digging
Bring it out and take back in.

You won't do what you'd like to do.
Lay back and let me show you another way.

I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.

Take it all
Take it all in

All the way in
All the way in
Let it go in
Let it go in

You won't feel what you'd like to feel.
Lay back and let me show you another way.

I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.

Knock me down
I'll just come back running,
Knock you down,
it won't be long now

All the way in...

I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.

Take it up
Take it up higher
4 degrees now
4 degrees warmer

Give in now
Give in now
Let me...in
You'll like this
This bridge is out
You'll like this in

It brings us closer than
dying and cancer and crying.

Come on, take it
You can take it all
take it, take it all
Come on

I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.

Just like that
Just like that
Just like

Kid Rock - All Summer Long
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaWtBVt_wI0

Lyrics
It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh Ahh

Splashing through the sand bar
Talking by the campfire
It's the simple things in life, like when and where
We didn't have no internet
But man I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

[Chorus:]
And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Catching Walleye from the dock
Watching the waves roll off the rocks
She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul
We'd blister in the sun
We couldn't wait for night to come
To hit that sand and play some rock and roll

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Now nothing seems as strange as when the leaves began to change
Or how we thought those days would never end
Sometimes I'll hear that song and I'll start to sing along
And think man I'd love to see that girl again

[Repeat Chorus x2]

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow - Picture
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kskFvErnVQ

Lyrics
[Kid Rock]
Livin' my life in a slow hell
Different girl every night at the hotel
I ain't seen the sun shine in 3 damn days
Been fuelin' up on cocaine and whisky
Wish I had a good girl to miss me
Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways
I put your picture away
Sat down and cried today
I can't look at you while I'm lyin' next to her
I put your picture away, sat down and cried today
I can't look at you, while I'm lyin next to her

[Sherly Crow]
I called you last night in the hotel
Everyone knows but they wont tell
But their half hearted smiles tell me
Somethin' just ain't right
I been waitin' on you for a long time
Fuelin' up on heartaches and cheap wine
I ain't heard from you in 3 damn nights
I put your picture away
I wonder where you been
I can't look at you while I'm lyin' next to him
I put your picture away
I wonder where you been
I can't look at you while I'm lyin' next to him
I saw ya yesterday with an old friend

[Kid Rock]
It was the same ole same "how have you been"

[Both]
Since you been gone my worlds been dark & grey

[Kid Rock]
You reminded me of brighter days

[Sheryl Crow]
I hoped you were comin' home to stay
I was headed to church

[Kid Rock]
I was off to drink you away

[Both]
I thought about you for a long time
Can't seem to get you off my mind
I can't understand why we're living life this way
I found your picture today
I swear I'll change my ways
I just called to say I want you to come back home
I found your picture today
I swear I'll change my ways
I just called to say I want you to come back home
I just called to say, I love you come back home

EDWIN STARR lyrics - War
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

Be my guest! I love that song!

Get Right With God

I would risk the serpent's bite
I would dance around with seven
I would kiss the diamond back
If I knew it would get me to heaven

Chorus:
'Cause I want to get right with God
Yes, you know you got to get right with God

I would burn the soles of my feet
Burn the palms of both my hands
If I could learn and be complete
If I could walk righteously again

I would sleep on a bed of nails
'Till my back was torn and bleeding
In the deep darkness of Hell
The Damascus of my meeting

I asked God about his plan
To save us all from Satan's slaughter
If I give up one of my lambs
Will you take me as one of your daughters Williams - Get Right with God

What do you get?

Someone to need you too much.
Someone to know you too well...
Someone to bring you up short
And put you through hell and give you support
For being alive... Being alive.

Someone you have to let in.
Someone who's feelings you spare.
Someone who, like it or not,
Will want you to share - a little, a lot
Of being alive... Being alive.

Someone to crowd you with love.
Someone to force you to care.
Someone to make you come through...
Who'll always be there
As frightened as you of being alive
Being alive.

Nine Inch Nails - Only

I'm becoming less defined as days go by
Fading away
And well you might say
I'm losing focus
Kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself

Sometimes I think I can see right through myself [x2]
Sometimes I can see right through myself

Less concerned about fitting into the world
Your world that is
Cause it doesn't really matter anymore
(no it doesn't really matter anymore)
No it doesn't really matter anymore
None of this really matters anymore

Yes I am alone but then again I always was
As far back as I can tell
I think maybe it's because
Because you were never really real to begin with
I just made you up to hurt myself

[x2]
I just made you up to hurt myself, yeah
And I just made you up to hurt myself

And it worked.
Yes it did!

[Chorus:]
There is no you
There is only me
There is no you
There is only me
There is no ****ing you
There is only me
There is no ****ing you
There is only me

Only [x4]

Well the tiniest little dot caught my eye and it turned out to be a scab
And I had this funny feeling like I just knew it's something bad
I just couldn't leave it alone, I kept picking at the scab
It was a doorway trying to seal itself shut
But I climbed through

Now I am somewhere I am not supposed to be, and I can see things I know I really shouldn't see
And now I know why, now, now, now I know why
Things aren't as pretty
On the inside

[Chorus]

Only [x8]

I loveeeeeeeee how he says 'Only', and 'Only Me'. Trent owns!

Rammstein - Morgenstern (Morningstar)

/Translated\

She's so ugly that it gets dark
when she looks into the sky
Then the light is frightened
It shines into her face from below
So she must hide during the day
She just doesn't want to scare the light
She lives in the shadows until the glow fades
She sees a star shining in the twilight and pleads
Paint beauty onto my cheeks

Morningstar, oh shine
onto the visage of mine
Cast a warm light
onto my frightening face
Tell me I'm not alone
Ugly, you are ugly

I went alone in the night
The late birds no longer sang
I saw children of the sun in the throng so
I cried into the starry heavens

Morningstar, oh shine
onto the beloved of mine
Cast a warm light
onto her frightening face
Tell her she's not alone

Morningstar, oh shine
onto the soul of mine
Cast a warm light
onto a heart that's breaking
Tell her that I'm crying
Because you, you are ugly
You are simply ugly
Humans are just creatures of the eye
Beautiful things are what I want
But you, you aren't beautiful, no

Morningstar, oh shine
onto the beloved of mine
Cast a warm light
onto her frightening face
Tell her she's not alone

And the star wants to shine
onto the beloved of mine
It warms my breast and shakes
where life beats
To see with the heart
she is simply beautiful

A man I used to work with died suddenly at the age of 60. He helped me get a good job right out of college, and I'd been meaning to send him a note just to let him know that even 20 years down the line, I still think of him with great fondness. I didn't send the note, though.

Another Tool song. This one's called Jimmy. The name reminds me of when I worked at a concrete factory. They used to call all the people who would only work there for a week or a month, and then they quit when they realized they couldn't handle it, a 'Jimmy'. Jimmys sometiimes ended up with permanant limps, if they were thrown into a lineup consisting of three individuals carrying 600 plus pounds of rebar. Hey Jimmy, go get us a bucket of steam...

Tool - Jimmy

What was it like to see
The face of your own stability
Suddenly look away
Leaving you with the dead and hopeless?

Eleven and she was gone.
Eleven is when we waved good-bye.
Eleven is standing still,
Waiting for me to free him
By coming home.

...

Moving me with a sound.
Opening me within a gesture.
Drawing me down and in,
Showing me where it all began,
Eleven.

It took so long to realize that
You hold the light thats been leading me back home.

Under a dead ohio sky,
Eleven has been and will be waiting,
Defending his light,
And wondering...
Where the hell have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.
I am wide awake and heading home.

Hold your light,
Eleven.
Lead me through each gentle step by step
By inch by loaded memory.

Ill move to heal
As soon as pain allows so we can
Reunite and both move on together.

Hold your light,
Eleven. lead me through each gentle step by step
By inch by loaded memory
till one and one are one, eleven,
So glow, child, glow.

Im heading back home.

Anyone hungry for Meatloaf?

Bat Out Of Hell
The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling,
way down in the valley tonight.
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye,
and a blade shining oh so bright.
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in sky,
and A killer's on the bloodshot streets.
Oh and down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising,
Oh I swear I saw a young boy down in the gutter,
He was starting to foam in the heat.

Oh baby you're the only thing in this whole world,
that's pure and good and right.
And wherever you are and wherever you go,
there's always gonna be some light.
But I gotta get out,
I gotta break it out now,
Before the final crack of dawn.
So we gotta make the most of our one night together.
When it's over you know,
We'll both be so alone.

Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone gone gone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
But when the day is done and the sun goes down,
and the moonlights shining through,
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven,
I'll come crawling on back to you.

I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram,
on a silver black phantom bike.
When the metal is hot and the engine is hungry,
and we're all about to see the light.
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole.
Everything is stunted and lost.
And nothing really rocks
And nothing really rolls
And nothing's ever worth the cost.
And I know that I'm damned if I never get out,
And maybe I'm damned if I do,
But with every other beat I've got left in my heart,
You know I'd rather be damned with you.
If I gotta be damned you know I wanns be damned,
dancing through the night with you.
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned.
Gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned.
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned,
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night with you.

Oh baby you're the only thing in this whole world,
that's pure and good and right.
And wherever you are and wherever you go,
there's always gonna be some light.
But I gotta get out,
I gotta break it out now,
Before the final crack of dawn.
So we gotta make the most of our one night together.
When it's over you know,
We'll both be so alone.

Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone gone gone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
But when the day is done and the sun goes down,
and the moonlights shining through,
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven,
I'll come crawling on back to you.

I can see myself tearing up the road,
Faster than any other boy has ever gone.
And my skin is raw but my soul is ripe.
No-one's gonna stop me now,
I gotta make my escape.
But I can't stop thinking of you,
and I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late.
I never see the sudden curve 'till it's way too late.

Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun.
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell.
And the last thing I see is my heart,
Still beating,
Breaking out of my body,
And flying away,
Like a bat out of hell.
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun.
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell.
And the last thing I see is my heart.
Still beating, still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away,
Like a bat out of hell.
Like a bat out of hell.
Like a bat out of hell.
Oh like a bat out of hell!
Oh like a bat out of hell!
Like a bat out of hell!

Fire and Rain, by James Taylor

But I always thought that I'd see you again...

A man I used to work with died suddenly at the age of 60. He helped me get a good job right out of college, and I'd been meaning to send him a note just to let him know that even 20 years down the line, I still think of him with great fondness. I didn't send the note, though.

Lesson learned.

My condolences, Susan, for your loss. Send a note to the family saying that. They would understand, and appreciate the fact that you thought so highly of him. It's the next best thing to being able to say it to him. I garantee you'll feel a load lifted from your chest after you do that.

Free from the ties that bind.
No more despair or burdens to bear
Out there in the yonder.

Where did you have in mind?
Have to take care,
Unless there's a where
You'll only be wandering blind...
Just more questions, different kind.

Mine today, might have been that song, about a man that's talking to an operator to connect a call to an old flame, but he tells the operator not to bother, because he decides against it after she might have began placing it. Even though she already read him the number once, he had something bothering him in his eye and couldn't even push the numbers himself.

Lemme use google to find it. [pause for 3 minutes while I scavange jotted lyrics from grocery receipt]...

My song for today is by Natasha Bedingfield and it’s titled Pocketful of Sunshine. I really enjoy Natasha Bedingfield's music because it's always uplifting.

I see so much pain on this board and it makes me sad.

Only You can make yourself have a good day. If you only expect bad things to happen to you, then that's all you're ever gonna get. If you accept anything less than what you deserve then that’s all you’re gonna get and even less!

Look at this way . . .it could be worse.

So the next time you even think about feeling low or you’re griping and bitchin’ about The Little Things . . .reach into your pocket for that sunshine.

Count your blessings . . .there are so many people that are hungry or homeless or so sick they can't even smile. So many people that have way less than you and they still believe that tomorrow is another day worth living.

It ain't that bad for you so lift your head and LIVE!

I wandered through the city alone this
Rain wouldn't stop, I couldn't dry my eyes
I cried

Who is the one to blame
Why is it that you never say
...when the feeling leaves
...if you're through with me

As I'm walking through the rain
Cold tears falling down my face
...like the autumn leaves
...on a windy day

I went to the edge of town
Over bright highways where the traffic was the only sound
Around

While my eyes were looking at the ground
I could see pictures of you floating all around
I didn't doubt

From ATB - The Autumn Leaves

Sophie B. Hawkins - Wish I Was Your Lover

That old dog has chained you up all right
Give you everything you need
To live inside a twisted cage
Sleep beside in empty rage
I had a dream I was your hero

Damn I wish I was your lover
I'd rock you till the daylight comes
Make sure you are smiling and warm
I am everything
Tonight I'll be your mother
I'll do such things to ease your pain
Free your mind and you won't feel ashamed
Open up gonna come inside
Gonna fill you up
Make you cry

....

This bloke can't stand to see you black and blue
I give you something sweet each time you
Come inside my jungle book
It's just too good
Don't say you'll stay
'Cause then you go away

Damn I wish I was your lover
I'll rock you till the daylight comes
Make sure you are smiling and warm
I am everything
Tonight I'll be your mother
I'll do such things to ease your pain
Free your mind and you won't feel ashamed
Shucks
For me there is no other
You're the only shoe that fits
I can't imagine I'll grow out of it
Damn I wish I was your lover

If I was your girl believe me
I'd turn on the Rolling Stones
We could groove along and feel much better
Let me in
I could do it forever and ever, ever n' ever
Give me an hour to kiss you
Walk through heaven's door I'm sure
We don't need no doctor to feel much better
Let me in
Forever and ever and ever and ever

I sat on the mountainside with peace of mind
I lay by the ocean making love to her with visions clear
Walked for days with no one near
And I return as chained and bound to you

Damn I wish I was your lover
I'll rock you till the daylight comes
Make sure you are smiling and warm
I have everything
Tonight I'll be your mother
I'll do such things to ease your pain
Free your mind and you won't feel ashamed
Shucks for me there is no other
You're the only shoe that fits
I can't imagine I'll grow out of it
Damn I wish I was your lover
Open up gonna come inside
Gonna fill you up
Make you cry

Anytime, anyplace baby.

'Little Wing'-Stevie Ray version. Someone poisoned magpies in our neighborhood and I had to clean up 5 this morning before my little one wants to go out to play. People are just sick. Sorry such a downer.

Good grief. Why would someone poison magpies?

I guess because they're noisy and messy? I don't know-I just know my 2 year old loves to watch them, and was horrified when he looked outside. He talked about it all weekend.

PATRICIA A-that is one of my all-time favorite songs! Thanks for getting it in my head, 'cause I'll now be singing it all day.

You and me both. I've had worse things than Otis stuck in my head though. :smile2:
