"Only God Knows Why"
KID ROCK
I've been sittin here
Tryin to find myself
I get behind myself
I need to rewind myself
Lookin for the payback
Listen for the playback
They say that every man bleeds just like me
And I feel like number one
Yet I'm last in line
I watch my youngest son
And it helps to pass the time
I take too many pills it helps to ease the pain
I made a couple of dollar bills, but still I feel the same
Everybody knows my name
They say it way out loud
A lot of folks **** with me
It's hard to hang out in crowds
I guess that's the price you pay
To be some big shot like I am
Out strecthed hands and one night stands
Still I can't find love
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
Yeah
As it...hey
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
People don't know about the things I say and do
They don't understand about the **** that I've been through
It's been so long since I've been home
I've been gone, I've been gone for way too long
Maybe I forgot all things I miss
Oh somehow I know there's more to life than this
I said it too many times
And I still stand firm
You get what you put in
And people get what they deserve
Still I ain't seen mine
No I ain't seen mine
I've been giving just ain't been gettin
I've been walking that there line
So I think I'll keep a walking
With my head held high
I'll keep moving on and only God knows why

"Abraham, Martin and John" by Dion
Has anybody here seen my old friend Abraham?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
You know, I just looked around and he's gone.
Anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked around and he's gone.
Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked 'round and he's gone.
Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, and it's a-gonna be one day ...
Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walk up over the hill,
With Abraham, Martin and John

Close Yet Far by CKY
Who said that I wasn't right?
I've lived for years without a life
Don't have a soul on my side
Still ridiculed despite how hard that I have tried
Don't take me under your wing
I don't need a hand, don't need anything
I've got a roof over my head
As if I'd rather be alone with me instead
Close yet far
Drop me a line and tell me how the hell you are
And I'll tip my hat to those who can't believe it's me
Though I never never never ever wanted this to be
I can hear the sounds of the city
Sunrise and set are the same to me
A hesitating pulse is good company
And my reflection offers no apology
But who said that I wasn't right?
And I've lived for years without a life
Don't have a soul on my side
Still ridiculed despite how hard that I have tried
Close yet far
Drop me a line and tell me how the hell you are
And I'll tip my hat to those who can't believe it's me
Though I never never never ever wanted this to be
Close yet far
Drop me a line and tell me how the hell you are
And I'll think of the days when there was something to believe
And I never never never ever wanted this to be

People drivin all fast got me kinda upset
Got you home safe placed you in your basonette
That night I dont think one wink I slept
As I slipped out my bed to your crib I crept
Touched your head gently felt my heart melt
Cause I know I loved you more than life itself

Find Her Finer
Find her finer, sneak up behind her, unwrap like a mummy 'til you finally unwind her. Find her, blind her, see who designed her, act like a dummy 'til you finally grind her. If you should see a girl on the street, now maybe you might think she is sweet, but if you wanna tickle her treat, now really what should you do? Don't never let her know you are smart. The universe is no place to start. You gotta play it straight from the heart, she gwine renunciate you. That's why you gotta Find her finer, sneak up behind her, unwrap like a mummy 'til you finally unwind her. Find her, blind her, see who designed her, act like a dummy 'til you finally grind her. Now maybe you might think this is crude, and maybe you might think I am rude, and maybe this approach I have spewed is not the one for you. But believe me later on you'll find, as you impress her with your mind, that you will just be left behind, for a wiser fool. So you might as well Find her finer, sneak up behind her, unwrap like a mummy 'til you finally unwind her. Find her, blind her, see who designed her, act like a dummy 'til you finally grind her. :wink2:

Diamonds on the soles of her shoes.
He's a poor boy, empty as a pocket,
Empty as a pocket with nothing to lose...

She said you've taken me for granted cause I've pleased you

Hi,
Absolutely, and in Graceland he introduced the world to contemporary African music, and did wonders for the careers of many, including the suoerb Ladysmith Black Mombasa.
Apart from being a work of genius in it's own right, it's THE fundamentally important recording in the growth of acceptance for what we call World Musibc here.

I used to cry myself to sleep at night
But that was all
Before he came
I thought love had to hurt to turn out right
But now he's here
It's not the same
It's not the same
He fills me up
He gives me love
More love than I've ever seen
He's all I've got
He's all I've got in this world
But he's all the man that I need
And in the morning when I kiss his eyes
He takes me down
And rocks me slow
And in the evening when the moon is high
He holds me close
And won't let go
He won't let go . . . .

Burnin' flame full of desire
Kiss me baby, let the fire get higher

Under African Skies.. Paul Simon
Josephs face was black as night
The pale yellow moon shone in his eyes
His path was marked
By the stars in the southern hemisphere
And he walked his days
Under african skies
This is the story of how we begin to remember
This is the powerful pulsing of love in the vein
After the dream of falling and calling your name out
These are the roots of rhythm
And the roots of rhythm remain
In early memory
Mission music
Was ringing round my nursery door
I said take this child, lord
From tucson arizona
Give her the wings to fly through harmony
And she wont bother you no more
This is the story of how we begin to remember
This is the powerful pulsing of love in the vein
After the dream of falling and calling your name out
These are the roots of rhythm
And the roots of rhythm remain

I have no idea why that even popped into my head that morning. My son says things and then boom I make it into a song. My mind is racing with useless information no wonder why I forget the important stuff.
But my theme song for today is ...Frank Sinatra...That's Life...
That's life (that's life), that's what all the people say
You're ridin' high in April, shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When I'm back on top, back on top in June
I said that's life (that's life), and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down
'cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race
That's life (that's life), I tell you I can't deny it
I thought of quitting, baby, but my heart just ain't gonna buy it
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

In the Evening--Zeppelin
In the evening
When the day is done
I'm looking for my woman
Oh, but the girl don't come
So don't let her
Play you for a fool
She don't show no pity baby
No no, she don't make no rules
Oh, oh, I need your love,
I need your love
Oh, I need your love
I just got to have / I've got pain
So don't you let her
Oh, get under your skin
It's only bad luck and trouble
>From the day that you begin
I hear you crying in the darkness
Don't ask nobody's help
Ain't no pockets dull of mercy baby
Cause you can only blame yourself
Oh it's simple
All the pain that you go through
You can turn away from fortune, fortune
Cause that's all that's left to you
It's lonely at the bottom
Man, it's dizzy at the top
But if you're standing in the middle
Ain't no way you're gonna stop
Oh whatever what your days may bring
No use hiding in a corner
Cause that won't change a thing
If you're dancing in the doldrums
One day soon, it's got to stop, it's got to stop
When you're the master of the off-chance
Well, you don't expect a lot

When in Rome - The Promise
Just gotta add lyrics with those magical spoiler buttons... I can't STAND it when someone says a song, and I don't know what the simple words that make up the title and artist mean, because I haven't experienced them yet.
If you need a friend,
don't look to a stranger,
You know in the end,
I'll always be there.
And when you're in doubt,
and when you're in danger,
Take a look all around,
and I'll be there.
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise, I promise you I will.
When your day is through,
and so is your temper,
You know what to do,
I'm gonna always be there.
Sometimes if I shout,
it's not what's intended.
These words just come out,
with no gripe to bear.
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise, I promise you...
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
And if I had to walk the world, that make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you I will.
I gotta tell ya, I need to tell ya, I gotta tell ya, I gotta tell yaaaa ...
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you...
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
And if I have to walk the world to make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you I will ...
I will...
I will...

After Midnight
Patsy Cline
I go out walking, after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I'm always walking, after midnight
Searching for you
I walk for miles, along the hyihway
Well that's just my way
Of saying I love you
I'm always walking after midnight
Searching for you
I stop to see a weeping willow
Crying on his pillow
Maybe he's crying for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be
I go out walking, after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hoping you may be
Somewhere a walking after midnight
Searching for me
I stop to see a weeping willow
Crying on his pillow
Maybe he's crying for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be
I go out walking, after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hoping you may be
Somewhere a walking after midnight
Searching for me

New York New York-- Nina Hagen
New York City is the hottest place
For a honeymoon in a hotel room
New York City is my favorite place
'Cause I know so many people with a golden face
Uh-huh
It's always late at night when I wanna go out
And New York City has for sure the horniest crowd
Especially for me, this is true,
I have the best time when you're there too
Honey, after the show, when we are ready to go
We are going disco
But before we hit East 7th Street
We are going to another disco
Disco after disco
And shaking our hair to the disco rap
AMPM, Pyramid, Roxy, Mudd Club, Danceteria
The newest club is opening up (repeat x3)
New York, New York (repeat x4)
Yeah!
New York City is the hottest place
For a honeymoon in a hotel room
Uh-huh
New York City is a place so nice
Everybody says it so they had to name it twice
New York my happy love's you, I love you very much
I could not live without you, so let's always keep in touch
New York City has the fanciest rule
When you want to live in this town you just have to be a fool
After the show when we are ready to go
We are going disco
But before we hit East 7th Street
We are going to another disco
Disco, after disco
And shaking our hair to the disco rap
AMPM, Pyramid, Roxy, Mudd Club, Danceteria
The newest club is opening up (repeat x3)
New York, New York (repeat x8)
Yeah
It's going hop hop hop hop hop hop
Straight up to the top
Hop hop hop hop hop hop
Straight up to the top
Let there be light
'Cause David Bowie's gonna be here tonight in New York
I create ecstacy in my world
I know who I am
And I am willing to declare myself to the world
I am a star!
I

Talk about a dream; try to make it real
You wake up in the night with a fear so real
You spend your life waiting for a moment that just don't come
Well don't waste your time waiting

Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Well keep pushin' till it's understood

There's a hole in the Earth, I'm out
There's a hole in the Earth, I'm out
Can you explain to me now?
If you're still able, well
It's time i think you know the truth
There's a hole in the Earth, I'm out
I hate all my friends
They all lack taste some times
There's a hole in the Earth, I'm out
There's a hole in the Earth

Sway---Rolling Stones...
Did you ever wake up to find
A day that broke up your mind
Destroyed your notion of circular time
It's just that demon life has got you in its sway
It's just that demon life has got you in its sway
Ain't flinging tears out on the dusty ground
For all my friends out on the burial ground
Can't stand the feeling getting so brought down
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
There must be ways to find out
Love is the way they say is really strutting out
One day I woke up to find
Right in the bed next to mine
Someone that broke me up with a corner of her smile
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway

Well, you can go from Maine to Mexico
From Detroit City to D.C. yeah
I've been loving you much too, too, too long girl
To let you get away from me, yeah
You know my mind says I'm to let her go
But my poor heart just won't let me
He said you're fighting it hard
Baby please get smart
What will you bet me ?
Will you ever bet me
I'm gonna get you, baby baby
Hear what I say,
I'm gonna get you, baby baby,
Hear what I say,
I'm gonna get you
Hear what I say
I'm going yeah
I'm gonna sit down and think up
a new technique
And this time I sure it won't fail
Though you're trying so hard
I can understand
You're giving in
I can tell by by by your hesitation on the telephone
Where before it was simply a no
And you're curious now, baby some way some how

Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen (the mtv unplugged version)
"Well now Im no hero
Thats understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl
Is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window
And let the wind blow
Back your hair
Well the nights busting open
These two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back
Heavens waiting on down the tracks
Oh-oh come take my hand
Riding out tonight to case the promised land
Oh-oh thunder road, oh thunder road oh thunder road
Lying out there like a killer in the sun
Hey I know its late we can make it if we run
Oh thunder road, sit tight take hold

Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
Its a death trap, its a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young
`cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs round these velvet rims
And strap your hands across my engines
Together we could break this trap
Well run till we drop, baby well never go back
Will you walk with me out on the wire
`cause baby Im just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta find out how it feels
I want to know if love is wild, girl I want to know if love is real
Beyond the palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you wendy on the streets tonight
In an everlasting kiss
The highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybodys out on the run tonight but theres no place left to hide
Together wendy well live with the sadness
Ill love you with all the madness in my soul
Someday girl I dont know when were gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go and well walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us baby we were born to run

B52s - Love Shack
If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says
15 miles to the... Love Shack! Love Shack yeah
I'm headin' down the Atlanta highway,
lookin' for the love getaway
Heading for the love getaway, love getaway,
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale
and we're headin' on down
To the Love Shack
I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money
The Love Shack is a little old place
where we can get together
Love Shack baby, Love Shack bay-bee.
Love baby, that's where it's at,
Ooo love baby, that's where it's at
Sign says.. Woo... stay away fools,
'cause love rules at the Lo-o-ove Shack!
Well it's set way back in the middle of a field,
Just a funky old shack and I gotta get back
Glitter on the mattress
Glitter on the highway
Glitter on the front porch
Glitter on the hallway
The Love Shack is a little old place
where we can get together
Love Shack bay-bee! Love Shack baby!
Love Shack, that's where it's at!
Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin',
wearin' next to nothing
Cause it's hot as an oven
The whole shack shimmies!
The whole shack shimmies when everybody's
Movin' around and around and around and around!
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby!
Folks linin' up outside just to get down
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby
Funky little shack! Funk-y little shack!
Hop in my Chrysler,
it's as big as a whale
and it's about to set sail!
I got me a car, it seats about twenty
So c'mon and bring your jukebox money.
The Love Shack is a little old place
where we can get together
Love Shack baby! Love Shack bay-bee!
(Love Shack...Love Shack...)
Love Shack, that's where it's at!
Bang bang bang on the door baby!
Knock a little louder baby!
Bang bang bang on the door baby!
I can't hear you
Bang bang on the door baby
Bang bang on the door
Bang bang on the door baby
Bang bang
You're what?... Tin roof, rusted!
Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
Love baby, that's where it's at
Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
Love baby, that's where it's at
Huggin' and a kissin',
dancin' and a lovin' at the love shack

:cool2:Tom Petty ...Running Down A Dream.
Today FINALLY FEELS LIKE SPRING. I opened the moon roof and windows and blasted this song as I drove to work ...LOVE THE WARM WEATHER!!!!
It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down
I had the radio on, I was drivin
The trees went by, me and del were singin
Little runaway, I was flyin
Yeah runnin down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin on a mystery, goin wherever it leads
Im runnin down a dream
I felt so good, like anything was possible
I hit cruise control and rubbed eyes
The last three days the rain was unstoppabl e
It was always cold, no sun shine
Yeah runnin down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin on a mystery, goin wherever it leads
Im runnin down a dream
I rolled on as the sky grew dark
I put the pedal down to make some time
Theres something good waitin down this road
Im pickin up whatever is mine
Yeah runnin down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin on a mystery, goin wherever it leads
Im runnin down a dream

That is it, it is nice out. You've convinced me - today we are taking a ride in my new cyber street glide. Put on your leather chaps. I'll take you where I took Motherwolf yesterday. The indian cliffs of Salmon Falls. One of my old stomping grounds. When we get there we can knock the sweat off with a dip in the Saco. But we are going to do it right, the old rope swing. "Every thing's up to date in Kansas City
It's rather like a magic lantern show.
We went to a thee-ater
They call the Burly Q
For fifty cents you can see a dandy show.
One of the girls is fat and pink and pretty
As round above as she is round below.
You'd swear that she was padded from her shoulders to her heels
But then she started dancing and her dancing made me feel
That every thing that lady had was absolutely real.
She went about as far as she could go, yes sir!
And that's about as far as I can go."

You think my shoes are made of leather
But I'm a substitute for another guy
I look pretty tall but my heels are high
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young, but I'm just back-dated, yeah
Substitute your lies for fact
I can see right through your plastic mac
I look all white, but my dad was black
My fine looking suit is really made out of sack

I would like to dedicate a song to everyone who like me must abstain from alcohol this weekend because of the most important job of being the designated driver. It is a great gift to give your friends and loved ones.
You will be:
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton
It's late in the evening; she's wondering what clothes to wear.
She puts on her make-up and brushes her long blonde hair.
And then she asks me, "Do I look all right?"
And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight."
We go to a party and everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady that's walking around with me.
And then she asks me, "Do you feel all right?"
And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight."
I feel wonderful because I see
The love light in your eyes.
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don't realize how much I love you.
It's time to go home now and I've got an aching head,
So I give her the car keys and she helps me to bed.
And then I tell her, as I turn out the light,
I say, "My darling, you were wonderful tonight.
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight."

Phantom of the Opera is good. I really like the Music of the Night song from it.
Although I have seen it several times, I was fortunate enough to see it at Her Majestys Royal Theatre in London, England. That trip was such a blast and I thought I would hate the "big city", but I actually had quite a good time in London and enjoyed it more than I would have thought.

I'm with you Losers club... Close to 75 here today, so in goes Jimmy.
I went down to Captain Tony's
To get out of the heat.
I heard a voice call out to me
Son come have a seat.
I had to search my memory
As I looked into those eyes;
Our lives change like the weather
But a legend never dies.
He said, "I ate the last mango in Paris.
I took the last plane out of Saigon.
Took the first fast boat to China,
And Jimmy there's still so much to be done."
I think I'll go have some frozen margaritas over at the Cantina in honor of Purrtricia's birthday. Hmmm... Perhaps I should finish baking the cakes I promised before I break into the tequila. Although, "What would Jimmy Buffet do?" I believe he's already answered that question... After all, "It's five o'clock somewhere..." :biggrin2:

Here you go Cowboy, this one's for you.:biggrin2:
Cadillac Cowboy- Chris Ledoux
Hold tight with a leather fist
Watch out when he starts to twist
That's what their daddies' used to tell them boys
How to ride them bulls
I got a jingle in my jeans
Sore places in between
And I'm leavin' on a saw blade
With a push and a pull
10-4 Buddy, come on back
A horse trailer on a Cadillac
Yeah, we're talkin' to the cowboy
In the Coupe de Ville
Chug-a-luggin' up one side
Slidin' down the other
I'm a lover of the other side of the hill
Turn up that radio
Don't wanna think about a rodeo
Don't wanna think about a round-up
Up in old Cheyenne
It's a crazy circuit
But still you work it
Turn down that sound, boys
Let's get up and check the scan
Bandana hangin' mirror
Still wet from ear to ear
We'll, I guess it's true then
What the wise men say
When you ride your last one
Make sure he's the best one
Jump while he's movin'
Tip your hat boys and walk away
I'm a lover of the other
Side of the hill

I'm still on my Springsteen kick.
Blinded By The Light
This could also go in the poems thread:biggrin2:
Madman drummers bummers and indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder feelin kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to the ground
Some all-hot half-shot was headin for the hot spot snappin his fingers clappin his hands
And some fleshpot mascot was tied into a lovers knot with a whatnot in her hand
And now young scott with a slingshot finally found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
And some bloodshot forget-menot whispers daddys within earshot save the buckshot turn up the band
And she was blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tight, but shell make it alright
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
He says: dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone, that's where they expect it least
And some new-mown chaperone was standin in the corner all alone watchin the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin with his frozen zone to remind him of the feeling of romance
Yeah he was blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
He got down but she never got tight, but he's gonna make it tonight
Some silicone sister with her managers mister told me I got what it takes
She said I'll turn you on sonny to something strong if you play that song with the funky break
And go-cart mozart was checkin out the weather chart to see if it was safe to go outside
And little early-pearly came in by her curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Oh, some hazard from harvard was skunked on beer playin backyard bombardier
Yes and scotland yard was trying hard, they sent a dude with a calling card,
He said, do what you like, but don't do it here
Well I jumped up, spit in the air, fell on the ground, asked wich was the way back home
He said take a right at the light, keep going straight until right, and then boy you're on your own
And now in zanzibar a shootin star was ridin in a side car hummin a lunar tune
Yes, and the avatar said blow the bar but first remove the cookie jar, were gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon
And some kidnapped handicap was complaining that he caught the clap from some mousetrap he bought last night
Well I unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw a gap but he'd figured he'd be all right
He was just blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun
Oh but mama that's where the fun is
If your interested in what these lyrics mean, I don't think anyone really knows except Bruce himself. I looked it up and found about a thousand different explanations from drug smuggling to vampires. It made for a very entertaining half hour.:oo:

Mariah Carey - Fantasy
I gotta get her new CD, too. She beat Elvis with number one hits with her new song.
I heard that, too. How do you feel about that? I for one am a HUGE Elvis fan and was disappointed by the news. Can you even compare the two artists? Does having more number one hits make you the better artist? And I don't mean to take anything away from Mariah Carey - she is definitely talented.

My theme for the last little bit has been Lost by Michael Buble' (I'm missing my ex boyfriend something fierce).
I can't believe it's over
I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing was on the wall
Days were slipping past
That the good things never last
That you were crying
Summer turned to winter
And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognized the girl you are today
And god I hope it's not too late
It's not too late
'Cause you are not alone
I'm always there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through
'Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When your worlds crashing down
And you can't bear to fall
I said, babe, you're not lost
Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy
But you're not
Things have seem to changed
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly fly fly away
'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through
'Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When the worlds crashing down
And you can not bear to crawl
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost

"Keep Breathing" by Ingrid Michaelson.
Storm is coming, but I don't mind.
People are dying. I close my blinds.
All that I know is I'm breathing.
I just found out that my grandmother is in the hospital again. She was in not too long ago because her breast cancer had spread and it wasn't looking good. Then she seemed to be on the up and up, got to go home and everything. Then, today, she went back in for a urinary tract infection and her calcium's much too high and it's not looking good. The doctors say they can't do anything but keep her comfortable.
All I can do is keep breathing.
All we can do is keep breathing.

It was. At one point, Alison Krauss was singing and playing the violin, and Robert Plant was wailing (and you know how he can wail :biggrin2:), and the wind was blowing, the sky was black - shiver.
It was a mystical experience, at the risk of sounding like an a-hole.

Hi, John - thanks! :biggrin2:
He didn't say anything about the Zep tour. He mostly spoke about his love of New Orleans music and bluegrass, etc., and about his tour with Alison Krauss. He also seemed excited that the festival crowd seemed to "get" their versions of old Zeppelin classics. Which were brilliant, with the exception of their encore, some sort of hoe-down-sounding, Jed Clampett something or other. :oo:

. . .See the curtains hangin' in the window, in the evenin' on a Friday night.
A little light a-shinin' through the window, lets me know everything is alright.
Summer Peach, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer Peach, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
See the paper layin' in the sidewalk, a little music from the house next door.
So I walked on up to the doorstep, through the screen and across the floor.
Summer Peach, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer Peach, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom. July is dressed up and playing her tune.
And I come home from a hard day's work, and you're waiting there, not a care in the world.
See the smile a-waitin' in the kitchen, food cookin' and the plates for two.
See the arms that reach out to hold me, in the evening when the day is through.
Summer Peach, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.

Well, I thought it was kinda cool, actually. I like her more than Elvis (this from a woman who onced named a cat Elvis) so I do like them both, but at the moment, I favor her to him.
And no, I don't think having more number one hits neccesarily makes someone a better artist. For instance, some of these American Idol winners have had them (I guess) Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood - and I can't say I think they're very great artists.
But...
The Beatles have more than anybody & I do think they are the greatest artists/band ever, so in their case, I agree.
