Hi,

Anni, that is truly beautiful, congratulations on your work. As some of you know, the Earth Mother is very important to me, and I thought your choice of music was outstanding as well.

If you don't mind me saying so, it's really interesting to see your work develop and progress so fruitfully.

Congrats again, and thankee.

Long days and pleasant nights

In Flames (my favorite band) - System

Follow your instinct
it usually takes you home
don't let these words tear you down...down....
you see me hanging by the end of a rope,
I tell you

Slow I go, and the wait seems to be over, all, that I know,
is that my life has become such a waste for you...

Well he's not very handsome to look at
Oh he's shaggy and he eats like a hog
And he's always killin' my chickens
That dirty old egg-suckin' dog

Egg-suckin' dog
I'm gonna stomp your head in the ground
If you don't stay out of my hen house
You dirty old egg-suckin' hound

Now if he don't stop eatin' my eggs up
Though I'm not a real bad guy
I'm gonna get my riffle and send him
To that great chicken house in the sky

Egg-suckin' dog
Your always hangin' around
But you'd better stay out of my hen house
You dirty old egg-suckin' hound

You just can't listen to this and not dance!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Mambo No. 5,

One, two , three four, five
everybody in the car so come on let's ride
To the liqueur-store around the corner,
the boys say they want some gin and juice
but I really don't wanna
beerbust like I had last week
I must stay deep 'cause talk is a cheap
I like Angela, Pamela, Sandra and Rita
and as I continue you know they're gettin' sweeta
so what can I do I really beg you my Lord
to me flirtin' it's just like a sport
anything fly it's all good let me dump it
please send in the trumpet

a little bit of Monica in my life
a little bit of Erica by my side
a little bit of Rita is all I need
a little bit of Tina is what I see
a little bit of Sandra in the sun
a little bit of Mary all night long
a little bit of Jessica here I am
a little bit of you makes me your man

Mambo No. 5!

Jump up and down and move it all around
shake your head to the sound put your hands on the ground
take one step left and one step right
one to the front and one to the side
clap your hands once and clap your hands twice
and if it looks like this then you doin' it right

a little bit of Monica in my life
a little bit of Erica by my side
a little bit of Rita is all I need
a little bit of Tina is what I see
a little bit of Sandra in the sun
a little bit of Mary all night long
a little bit of Jessica here I am
a little bit of you makes me your man

Trumpet, the Trumpet!

Mambo No. 5!

a little bit of Monica in my life
a little bit of Erica by my side
a little bit of Rita is all I need
a little bit of Tina is what I see
a little bit of Sandra in the sun
a little bit of Mary all night long
a little bit of Jessica here I am
a little bit of you makes me your man

I do all to fall in love with a girl like you
You can't run and you can't hide you and me gonna touch the sky

Pretty Fly for a White Guy...it's a dedication--snort!!!

"You know it's kind of hard
Just to get along today
Our subject isn't cool
But he fakes it anyway
He may not have a clue
And he may not have style
But everything he lacks
Well he makes up in denial

So don't debate, a player straight
You know he really doesn't get it anyway
He's gonna play the field, and keep it real
For you no way, for you no way
So if you don't rate, just overcompensate
At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake
The world needs wannabe's"

Friends say he's trying too hard and he's not quite hip
But in his own mind, he's the dopest trip

PJ Harvey - Down By The Water

I lost my heart
Under the bridge
To that little girl
So much to me
And now I'm old
And now I holler
She'll never know
Just what I found

cont...

That blue eyed girl
(that blue eyed girl)
She said "no more"
(she said "no more")
That blue eyed girl
(that blue eyed girl)
Became blue eyed whore
('came blue eyed whore)
Down by the water
(down by the water)
I took her hand
(I took her hand)
Just like my daughter
(just like my daughter)
Won't see her again
(see her again)

Oh help me jesus
Come through this storm
I had to lose her
To do her harm
I heard her holler
(I heard her holler)
I heard her moan
(I heard her moan)
My lovely daughter
(my lovely daughter)
I took her home
(I took her home)

Little fish. big fish. Swimming in the water.
Come back here, man. gimme my daughter.
Little fish. big fish. Swimming in the water.
Come back here, man. gimme my daughter.
Little fish. big fish. Swimming in the water.

Uncle Kracker - Drift Away

Day after day I'm more confused
Yet I look for the light
Through the pourin' rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
And I'm feeling the strain
Ain't it a shame

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I want to get lost in your rock and roll
And drift away

Hi,

Interesting that you chose a song by a Scottish songwriter to remind you of London, Spaten, in the person of Gerry Rafferty, who also wrote and performed 'Stuck in the Middle With You', as used in the ear scene in Reservoir Dogs.

Waiting on the World to Change - John Meyer

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Sweet, love it.

For me today it is Psycho by Puddle Of Mudd

"Maybe I'm the one
Maybe I'm the one
Who is…
The schizophrenic psycho… yeah

Maybe I'm the one
Maybe I'm the one
Who is…
The paranoid flako… yeah"

So reminds me of Nirvana. So feel cheated(still) about Cobain's death.

How about some Meatloaf???
For Crying Out Loud
I was lost till you were found
But I never knew how far down
I was falling
Before I reached the bottom
I was cold and you were fire
And I never knew how the pyre
Could be burning
On the edge of the ice field

And the now chilly california wind
Is blowing down our bodies again
And were sinking deeper and deeper into the chilly california sand
Oh I know you belong inside my aching heart
And cant you see my faded levis bursting apart
And dont you hear me crying:
Oh babe, dont go
And dont you hear me screaming:
How was I to know?

Im in the middle of nowhere
Near the end of the line
But theres a border to somewhere waiting
And theres a tankful of time
Oh give me just another moment to see the light of the day
And take me to another land where I dont have to stay

And Im gonna need somebody to make me feel like you do
And I will receive somebody with open arms, open eyes,
Open up the sky and let the planet that I love shine through

For crying out loud
You know I love you
For crying out loud
You know I love you
For crying out loud
You know I love you

I was damned and you were saved
And I never knew how enslaved
I was kneeling
In the chains of my master

I could laugh but you could cry
And I never knew just how high
I was flying
Ah, with you right above me

Im in the middle of nowhere
Near the end of the line
But theres a border to somewhere waiting
And theres a tankful of time
Oh give me just another moment to see the light of the day
And take me to another land where I dont have to stay

And Im gonna need somebody to make me feel like you do
And I will receive somebody with open arms, open eyes,
Open up the sky and let the planet that I love shine through

For crying out loud
You know I love you
For crying out loud
You know I love your
For crying out loud
You know I love you

For taking in the rain when Im feeling so dry
For giving me the answers when Im asking you why
And my oh my
For that I thank you

For taking in the sun when Im feeling so cold
For giving me a child when my body is old
And dont you know
For that I need you

For coming to my room when you know Im alone
For finding me a highway and driving me home
And you gotta know
For that I serve you

For pulling me away when Im starting to fall
For revving me up when Im starting to stall
And all in all
For that I want you

For taking and for giving and for playing the game
For praying for my future in the days that remain
Oh lord
For that I hold you

Ah but most of all
For cryin out loud
For that I love you

Ah but most of all
For cryin out loud
For that I love you

Ah but most of all
For cryin out loud
For that I love you

When youre crying out loud
You know I love you

You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth
It was a hot summer night and the beach was burning
There was fog crawling over the sand
When i listened to your heart i hear the whole world turning
I see the shooting stars
Falling through your trembling hands

You were licking your lips and your lipstick shining
I was dying just to ask for a taste
We were lying together in a silver lining
By the light of the moon
You know there's not another moment
Not another moment
Not another moment to waste

When you hold me so close that my knees grow weak
And my soul is flying high above the ground
I'm trying to speak but no matter what i do
I just can't seem to make any sound

And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And i swear it's true
I was just about to say i love you

And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And i swear it's true
I was just about to say i love you

Now my body is shaking like a wave on the water
And i guess that i'm beginning to grin
Oooh, we're finally alone and we can do what we want to
The night is young
And ain't no one gonna know where you
No one gonna know where you
No one's gonna know where you've been

You were licking your lips and your lipstick shining
I was dying just to ask for a taste
We were lying together in a silver lining
By the light of the moon
You know there's not another moment
Not another moment
Not another moment to waste

And then you took the words right out of my mouth

Run so Far by George Harrison.

Today is the first day I've heard this song (as far as I know) but it's very familiar to me. Like I knew it when I hadn't heard it before. Song deja vu.

It's an awesome song.

I heard this on the radio this morning and thought how it would apply here to the message board. With Pennywise always a presence and talk about The Joker in the Actor/Actress thread. Our favorite author even fits in.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight
I got the feeling that something ain't right
I'm so scared in case I'll fall off my chair
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wondering what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losing control yeah, I'm all over the place
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am
Stuck in the middle with you.

Well you started off with nothing
And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawling
Slap you on the back and say
Please, please.

Try to make some sense of it all
But I can see it makes no sense at all
Is it cruel to go to sleep on the floor
Yeah I don't think that I can take anymore
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am
Stuck in the middle with you.

And you started off with nothing
And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawling
Slap you on the back and say
Please, please.

Yeah I don't know why I came here tonight
I got the feeling that something ain't right

She dances through the street
like the flame of a fire

everybody perspires
even little children cry
grown men shout
the dogs bark
the lights go out

Collective Soul
Where the River Flows
Give me a moment
Got to get this weight up off my chest
Don't feed me sorrow
Pain is a poison I digest

Find yourself another soul to hold
You think, you thought, I know
Off upon my journey I must go
To where the river flows
To where the river flows

I'll give you answers
To the questions you have yet to ask
Silence is beauty
Words they only complicate the task

Find yourself another soul to hold
You think, you thought, I know
Off upon my journey I must go
To where the river flows
To where the river flows

Make no more wishes
All of my patience has been spent
Gods of the season
Lead me to my next incident

Fins yourself another soul to hold
You think, you thought, I know
Off upon my journey I must go
To where the river flows

Find yourself another soul to hold
You think you thought I know
Off upon my journey I must go
To where the river flows
To where the river flows

Hi,

Great clip, thankee Pat.

I've watched it several times and a few things struck me -

First, the world's greatest author walking on stage and going 'tharn' as Richard Adams put it LOL. Anyone who's been onstage knows the feeling, when you can't even remember your name until the first chords start flowing.

And, given the influence of Donovan on Hearts in Atlantis, it must have been a big hit for Sai King to be onstage with these guys (and vice versa).

And doesn't he get into it!

I loved the girl violin player going down on her knees to him at the end, and all the high 5's, everyone obviously enjoyed it thoroughly.

I'd also forgotten how tall he is - you would have thought the band was called Stephen King and the Seven Dwarves!

MORE PLEASE!

Long days and pleasant nights

Yeah that was the only time I thought he looked uncomfortable. That girl can play, huh? :)

Hi,

Emmylou Harris - 'C'est la Vie (say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell).

A Chuck Berry song originally, Emmylou interprets it, as always, beautifully.

'It was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished them well.....etc'.

Saw a great documentary/concert by her on Sat. called 'Emmylou Harris's 10 Commandments of Country Music' - VERY highly recommended!

Emmylou Harris

She's also looking wonderful at 60.

Hi,

Joan Baez - 'Ballad of Joe Hill'.

Long days and pleasant nights

I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night
Alive as you or me
Says I to Joe "You're three years dead"
"I never died" said he
"I never died" said he
