Basshunter - 'Walk On Water'.

Can I just recommend giving this one a listen?

I'm writing a lot just now and when I write I usually just put the TV on to the MTV Dance channel and leave it on behind me.

I like writing to dance music, it doesn't distract me the way rock does, written as it is to appeal purely to the body, but this particular track by one of the Dutch DJ's and producers really caught me.

Apart from being cutting edge dutch dance music, it's just a really good pop song with a great hook and a very catchy chorus, and I'm sure it'll be played to death at every holiday resort disco over the next few months.

I wonder why all the good dance music seems to come out of Holland, and particularly Amsterdam?

Maybe it's something in the water in Amsterdam? (My favourite city in the whole world).

They did this mix, of this song 'Wound' by Velvet Acid Christ...

I should say 'He', it's only one really. But it's called, the 'Vivisection Mix', and it's so goddamn horrible. They mixed in this infinitely dark news broadcaster's voices, verbalizing what the cameras are seeing, in this horrible animal testing/torture labratory.

Things like a monkey that was born and kept under water in complete darkness it's whole life, with only a breathing tube to the outside world to ever understand reality against. Then they start shaking the water cage really hard, to give it brain damage.

Stuff like deamputation, where they sever spinal sections so it's arms or legs will never move again, without the increased voltage they keep putting into it, to get it to twitch.

The stories about the insane ones are the worst. Like the one that can't stop dancing around in a little circle, it's so cracked from the tortures it's been born into and subjected to for all it's ever known.

My theme song is "One Thing" from Finger 11. this song defines what is going on in my life (all the time) I was never really sure what this song meant or was about. Then I heard a sermon from my minister about giving everything up for Jesus and giving our lives to "one thing" (This may not actually be what the song is about but it is what I thought of after hearing this song after the sermon) The sermon was about how great the world would be if every Christian would stop being selfish and living for themselves and start striving towards "one thing" I know I should do this, but I just am not ready to give everything up for "one thing"
When I hear this song, random lyrics just seem to apply to my life. Even though this is not "Christian" song, maybe God was trying to tell me something when I heard it.

It follows Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, David Allan Coe, Charlie Daniels, Steve Earl & many others in 1975 just as the country outlaw movement was getting started. The DVD has bonus footage of Van Zandt, Clark, Earl, Crowell & about 4 or 5 others sitting around Clark's kitchen table Christmas eve '75 drinkin', smokin' & and singin'. If you are familiar with Steve Earl this was about 10 years before Copperhead Road. He's just a kid here, but you can see the genius singer/song writer already starting to develop.
