Memory from the musical Cats.
A local no-kill cat rescue facility is in a position of possibly having to put down 200+ cats due to lack of donations and adoptions. It's a sad situation and that's a sad song that seems to fit perfectly to the situation.

How could they do that to all those animals. I will never understand the how "shelters" find that the only solution is "the final solution". Drives me batshit. Sorry about the language. There have got to be places out there, or people out there who will foster some of the cats and dogs until homes can be found. Sorry, animals being put down for anything other than terminal illness just toasts my fannie.

kmfdm - brute
between the liquor, the bed and the noise in my head
between your mind and my crime
and me in the grime
between the gun, the lead and the lies that i said
through your sweet breath comes the dawn of my death
touch me- hate me
give yourself to me and break me
cut these eyes
and i will see
kiss these lying lips for me
stroke this skin
and will kneel
brutalize me
i will heal
between the bullet and my lip
and the lies you let slip
between the dirt of this soul
and your heart that's a hole
between the place where you hit
and this face where you spit
through your sweet breath comes the dawn of my death

the soundtrack from "Sweeney Todd" - the musical. Not the movie.
Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd.
His skin was pale and his eye was odd.
He shaved the faces of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard of again.
He trod a path that few have trod did Sweeney Todd the demon barber of fleet street.
He kept a shop in London town.
Of fancy clients and good renown and what if none of their souls were saved they went to their maker impecably shaved.
By Sweeney, by Sweeney Todd the demon barber of fleet street.
Swing your razor wide! Sweeney, hold it to the skies.
Freely flows the blood of those who moralize.
His needswere few, his room was bare.
A lavabo and a fancy chair.
A mug of suds, and a leather strop, an apron, a towel, a pail, and a mop. For neatness he deserves a nod,
does Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street.
Inconspicuous Sweeney was, quick, and quiet and clean he was.
Back of his smile, under his word, Sweeney heard music that nobody heard.
Sweeney pondered and Sweeney planned, like a perfect machine he planned,
Sweeney was smooth, Sweeney was subtle, Sweeney would blink, and rats would scuttle
Sweeney was smooth, Sweeney was subtle
Sweeney would blink, and rats would scuttle
Sweeney was smooth, Sweeney was subtle, Sweeney would blink, and rats would scuttle
Sweeney was smooth,
Sweeney was subtle, Sweeney would blink, and rats would scuttle
Sweeney! Sweeney! Sweeney! Sweeney! Sweeney! Sweeney Todd Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd!
Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd!
He served a dark and vengeful God! He served a dark and vengeful God!
What happened then, well that's the play, and he wouldn't want us to give it away...
Not Sweeney Not Sweeney Todd The demon barber of Fleet... Street!

I don't know....Johnny Depp could sing me the Bandaide commercial jingle, and I'd be okay with it.:D
All joking aside, I liked the movie and thought Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter did a great job.
The singing from the musical was fantastic, but it was really lacking in the props, and set. If you were not familiar with the story, I think it would have been confusing.

"Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen
"You can hide `neath your covers
And study your pain
Make crosses from your lovers
Throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain
For a savior to rise from these streets
Well now Im no hero
Thats understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl
Is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window
And let the wind blow
Back your hair
Well the nights busting open
These two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back
Heavens waiting on down the tracks
Oh-oh come take my hand
Riding out tonight to case the promised land
Oh-oh thunder road, oh thunder road oh thunder road
Lying out there like a killer in the sun
Hey I know its late we can make it if we run
Oh thunder road, sit tight take hold
Thunder road"

This song basically sums up my life.
FURR by Blitzen Trapper
Yeah, when I was only 17,
I could hear the angels whispering
So I droned into the words and wandered aimlessly about
Until I heard my mother shouting through the fog
It turned out to be the howling of a dog
Or a wolf to be exact, the sound sent shivers down my back
But I was drawn into the pack and before long
They allowed me to join in and sing their song
So from the cliffs and highest hill, yeah
We would gladly get our fill
Howling endlessly and shrilly at the dawn
And I lost the taste for judging right from wrong
For my flesh had turned to fur, yeah
And my thoughts, they surely were
Turned to instinct and obedience to God.
You can wear your fur
like a river on fire
But you better be sure
if you're makin' God a liar
I'm a rattlesnake, Babe,
I'm like fuel on fire
So if you're gonna' get made,
Don't be afraid of what you've learned
On the day that I turned 23,
I was curled up underneath a dogwood tree
When suddenly a girl with skin the color of a pearl
She wandered aimlessly, but she didn't seem to see
She was listenin' for the angels just like me
So I stood and looked about
I brushed the leaves off of my snout
And then I heard my mother shouting through the trees
You should have seen that girl go shaky at the knees
So I took her by the arm
We settled down upon a farm
And raised our children up as gently as you please.
And now my fur has turned to skin
And I've been quickly ushered in
To a world that I confess I do not know
But I still dream of running careless through the snow
An' through the howlin' winds that blow,
Across the ancient distant flow,
It fill our bodies up like water till we know.
You can wear your fur
Like a river on fire
But you better be sure
If you're makin' God a liar
I'm a rattlesnake, Babe,
I'm like fuel on fire
So if you're gonna' get made,

Les Miserables - I Dreamed a Dream Lyrics
Les Miserables - I Dreamed a Dream Lyrics
There was a time, when men were kind
And their voices were soft
And their words were inviting
There was a time, when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they turn your hope apart
As they turn your dreams to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my dreams with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'd come to me
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
