Hi,

This should really be Lepplady's post, as she came up with the brilliant concept of the Cantina in the first place, for which much thanks.

However, it occurs to me that we'll have nowhere even to talk about the changes etc without the Cantina, so I hope Lepplady doesn't mind me putting this up.

So for the first time ever in this shiny new place -

GOOD WHATEVER EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I trust everyone had a great weekend, and is looking forward to the festive season and etc.

I hope they still serve Irish coffee in here, and I'll just sit quietly here and wait for everyone to figure their way past the bouncers (passwords? We don't need no stinkin' passwords!).

More old faces are appearing each day, and many new ones too. Welcome. Remember the Cantina is cyber, so no calories to count and supplies are endless.

Word of caution: Buckwheat, our resident snake comes to visit on Thursdays. We have a cyber snake free zone for those who fear snakes, and I try to remember to put the sign out of warning each Thursday.


Freshly bakes banana cake on the counter for all. Re stocked the herbal teas too. Big delivery due in late for all the critters.

:cool2::down::down::oh::confused: Hile fine patrons! I've finally made it here to the Cantina. I had no idea our MB was "to move on" so abruptly! OOOWWWwwwWWWwww....RRRrrr...rrrrrrrrrr........... I showed up at our old den with Christmas presents and loads of replies for various topics and you were all gone! It was dim and empty, and the fire was so cold, it smelled cold! You all had been there, but not for a long while, and I was left alone. My pack was gone! So I followed scent and sign till I sniffed you out to here! But I couldn't get in! I dug and dug and pawed and clawed, and howled and howled! (just ask Jordan and Ms. Mod) But I couldn't get in! I could hear a faint voice calling for me (Madam Mack), but couldn't answer! I was lost and forlorn and oh, so distraught! I tried and I tried, my determination fueled by M.Mack's message, and got in a little. But when I tried to come back, something had moved the den door! I went back to the old den, but it was faded and so silent. In my bones I could feel the far off rumbling of the Langoliers! Coming to eat away our recent past! Ahhhh, some one come give us a pet and a scratch! And make me wag my tail again! I missed you all so much!!! And I glad to see you all here! Too many names! Not enough space! So I brought this poster for the Cantina wall, I thought it might look nice over the drip coffee maker. Thank God I have this place. It's hard believe it but it is reeeeaaallly hard to find a good cup of just plain ol' coffee flavored coffee in Seattle.

There is a new perch for LuLu(the parrot) and some seed treats, also a box of "crackers". Phil (the kitty cat) has a new bed, some cat toys and of course cat nip too. Buckwheat (the resident snake) has a new box to hide in and a toy mouse since he does not appear to like real mice. Fernando and Isabella love their new open space, and I see some "hay" has been delivered and the feed bins filled. Someone told me to put a giant playtoy out there too.

Hi to all who are peeking around the magnificent Christmas tree outside by the window. The Cantina looks so festive.

Herbal tea please, with some lemon today. Off to the bean bags--- come join me.

I don't know where else to bring this up. I just found a book written by Pattie Boyd (with Penny Junor) which she calls "Wonderful Tonight - George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me." It sounds so intriguing, I bought a copy. It is a kind of autobiography, I suppose. I have always loved to live vicariously.

Now check this out, there was this lady behind me, she was test driving a new car, and the pipe messed the front end up pretty good, sucks to be her. Another car tried to dodge it, and they ran into the wall. Thankfully no one was hurt, and that truck just drove away, never to be found again. Now ain't that some messed up stuff, eh?

There is a new perch for LuLu(the parrot) and some seed treats, also a box of "crackers". Phil (the kitty cat) has a new bed, some cat toys and of course cat nip too. Buckwheat (the resident snake) has a new box to hide in and a toy mouse since he does not appear to like real mice. Fernando and Isabella love their new open space, and I see some "hay" has been delivered and the feed bins filled. Someone told me to put a giant playtoy out there too.

Hi to all who are peeking around the magnificent Christmas tree outside by the window. The Cantina looks so festive.

Some good news and some bad news. The good news first - Emma Robson is out of hospital till January, awaiting the results of tests, and she's running round the house and feeling fine apparently.

But my daughter-in-law Kareen's kid sister, another Emma (Emma McGhee, aged 12) collapsed yesterday morning into a diabetic coma (no-one knew she was diabetic before) and is in a critical condition in the very same hospital that Emma Robson was released from the day before. You really couldn't make up real life, could you?

Well, its 2.34am on christmas. you'll be happy to know that i just waved santa off with some vegemite on toast and a jack daniels roadie and he's looking in good shape to make it to you guys with no probs at all. watch out for Blitzen this year though...apparently one of the elves played a practical joke that went too far and his antlers have turned pink. i tried to placate him with an extra sweet carrot but i'm not sure how well it went.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say to everyone to have a very merry <insert your celebration of choice here>. and happy new year, whether it be next week or in 3 months time. May your presents be well thought out, may your food be perfectly burnt like grandma burns it and may your humbug never be bah'd.

Hello, everyone. JohnD, before the mist made me lost my way to the new mb, I read your last post for me in the old mb. It was about the origin of 'tapas', remember? Well, The explanation that you were given was just one of so many. The most popular theory about that says that back in the old times, when the hygienic conditions of bars and cantinas were not very good, they used to put a slice of bread on top of the glasses, to avoid flies get into the wine. 'Tapa' means 'cover', and this would explain the origin of the name as well as the origin of the custom of serving a small amount of food with your drink. I hope I have expressed myself properly. :oops:

Emma Robson is out of hospital until January, and Emma McGhee gets out today, with her diabetes stabilised. She'll have to inject herself 5 times a day for the rest of her life, and has a strict diet, but is well, thankee.

And thankee for the info and links on tapas, Gelata, I've always thought it one of the world's most civilized customs.

I'm just sitting here with my happiest thoughts tucked neatly in my jeans pocket. It was the gift so graciously given to all of us by the very clever and thoughtful MotherWolf. Thank you so very much, MotherWolf. I held my treasure to my face a moment ago and a warmth swept over me I have never felt before. An attitude of gratitude. Filled with hope and love and light, secure in my optimism that all will be more magnificent in the coming year than ever before. What a feeling!

I brought some Hot Apple Cider, Zicam, Zinc, and Orange Juice. Oh, and some homemade something or another one of my friend's grandmothers made over the weekend. Moonglow or Starshine, something like that. She said it's very powerful and will knock any cold germ or flu virus on its ears.

:cool2::oh::down: Hile beloved Tet-Mates! Good late morning to you all! I'm so sorry to see that so many had bouts of illness over Christmas! Charms! I hope that little man, and you Kim, are well on the mend! CubJax came down with a fever, cold and sore throat X-mas day! His fever broke yesterday, thank God, and is doing much better now! I didn't make it here yesterday, because, after 2 years my %#@$&^*'ing gall bladder decided to rear it's ugly head and attack!!! But I'm better now too! Just lit my first smoke in 2 days! Smokin'Joe is right as rain as usual! John, I think he's another one with the constitution of Keith Richards! Give us an update on Emma and Emma M. soon, Sai! All in all our Christmas was really nice, Madam Mack! Spidey and 'Cola hope to see you soon!!!:smile2:LONG LIVE KEITH! SAI DALGLISH! AND SMOKIN'JOE!!!

MotherWolf, sounds like CubJax has what my grandson has. I hope he gets back to his old feisty self again real soon. Your gall bladder is giving you fits? I’m sorry to say this, with your image of me being this great winged warrior and all, but I have a condition known as Crohn's Disease and, unfortunately, it’s been flaring up on me lately. Winged Warrior, heal thyself. With much reluctance, I will seek a doctor’s help. This has been ongoing (in and out of remission) for 35 years. Much needed prayers and healing thoughts for both of us, for all of us.

Thanks, Charms7, I was well enough to go to the dentist Saturday, kind of a mixed blessing, but I hope to keep these old choppers for a few years yet.
Crohn's Disease is a tough one; I know you'd heal yourself if you could.

Cola - I had to fix my husband a "hot toddy" last night of bourbon, lemon and honey to soothe his cough. Then I had to fix one for myself because it's tough work taking care of a sick husband.
