Just one thing - I notice that it says 1 lb = 453g. In the UK 1 lb = 454g, so what does this mean?

Are the UK getting a little bit extra in every lb?

Are the US getting a little bit less?

Wow, weird... It looks like the US does have less butter per pound than the UK. What's up with that? Bigger, Better Butter in Britain... By golly.
Which leads me to wonder, does everything weigh a gram less in the US? Hmmm... Do we have less gravity here... or what?

I think it has more to do with how companies are packaging their products now to make more money. I recently noticed that a "quart" of mayonnaise now only has 30 ounces, not 32. People don't pay as close attention to those kinds of things especially if the size of the packaging hasn't changed appreciably, so they can get away with giving you less and charging more.

I went to bed way too late and got up way too early to go see my doctor. They are upping my dose of medicine... *paws over to a bean bag and drags it over to Lotus.* Buick 8, very good book and I couldn't put that one down. *Flops down onto the bean bag* I will take a really, really large coffee with lots of milk and sugar please... Gelata, they are an excellent and much under-rated Scots band and I'm sure you'll very much enjoy them. Although they can fill gigs all over the world, we feel locally that they've never achieved the international stature that their ability should. Along with The Jesus and Mary Chain, Mogwai, Biffy Clyro, Belle and Sebastian, Amy MacDonald and Paolo Nutini etc.

Oh, no, don't throw out the lobstrosity salad, I love that stuff. Great with lemon butter! I put the marshmallows in second drawer on the left. I think wickeddreamscapes gets into them because they taste like eyeballs.

The Dark Tower: I thoroughly enjoyed the whole journey, but found this last book so tough - mainly because of all the tears shed with losing friends that had become so dear. I suspected once he began to climb the Tower, that Roland would not be finding peace at the top. I am still trying to process the ending in my own mind - I understand that the journey is far more important, however, there are one or two things that I didn't really want to accept in the end. Oy's demise for one, of course - and the fact that although Roland had done some bad-arsed things, he still had a shite-load more heart by the end of the tale, than he did upon first setting out. I sometimes feel that his judgement at the top of the Tower, was a little bit harsh. I dunno - maybe I'll feel differently on my next re-read(?)

I'm prolly going to hex myself for saying this, but in the 2 years I have lived in Northern Coastal WA I have basically seen only two weather patterns. Cold and wet, then the ever popular warm and wet. No major extremes in either direction. I am a major CHICKENSHITE when it comes to driving on ice, what looks like it might be ice and the ice I only imagine is on the road. We had one day of really icy roads this year and my boss gave me the day off 'cause she hates it when I cry.
So my heart goes out to all of you in the frozen tundras of the world! Nice to be a 90% telecommuter like our Ms Mod. But still be careful when you are out and a'boot!

I've been looking out my window at snow since December and it looks like it will be here until April unless we get a stretch of warm weather. I'm over-ready for much warmer temps and lots of sunshine. I'm almost wishing I'd opted for a Southwest spring vacation instead of London. I know it's just the long winter talking because I'm sure I won't regret visiting London.

It's 4:00pm here right now time for Happy hour got a fresh pitcher of Frozen Margaritas and a great big bowl of warm nachos and salsa and guacamole. But John's Duma Key Lime Pie sounds pretty good too.

Hope everyone with this nasty flu gets better. I just got finished with it and so did my 3 year old and in the middle of it all I wacked my head on my car door and ended up with 9 stitches and black eye and a sore arm from the tetnus shot. I had a pretty rough week. I need a vacation!!!
I was actually looking at renting a house on Key West, I long for the summertime, I hate the grey days of winter and Duma Key gave me the itch.
