Hey guys and gals. :)
I'm feeling very sorry for myself as I have a bad chest infection at the moment, and it's getting worse not better.
All I want is some tea and sympathy...OK, and maybe some of those cookies that were getting thrown around earlier.
Hope everyone has a lovely week ahead!

Well, I knew I was sick, but it has been confirmed, I have the Swine Flu. I have never been this sick with the flu before. I am going to have to miss a week of school, I know I am going to fall way behind. I just don't have any choice. I am contagious so I wont go anywhere, and too fatigued to want to leave my bed anyway. So I will be the one in the corner with a mask on trying to keep my illness from everyone. :bat:

My cousin cracks me up! She called yesterday to see how I was feeling, she was quite sincere, then all of the sudden bursts out laughing and asks if I am sprouting feathers and a curly tail. I truly brightened my day. I am still quite weak, feels as if I weigh 500 lbs. I took a shower last night and was so fatigued from doing so, my hubby had to put my pajamas on me. I have isolated myself from my children, they keep wanting to come see me or help me but I just sternly send them out of my room. I would never be able to live with myself if I gave them something this horribly painful. I am hoping for a better day today. I will stay in bed and pray that I can go to school tomorrow. :bat:

Yesterday was a great day. It was our wedding anniversary and we went out to the coast. We stopped at a couple of lakes, three different rivers, a couple of great beaches and a pier in Tofino. I did some photography, had a ball, checked out the surfer boys and the girls, and decided that if I ever win the big one, I'll need a condo there.
I could spend hours taking photos of how the light goes through the tops of the waves just before they curl.
Of course, I'm babbling now, but I am highly caffeinated and feeling really happy about how the day went yesterday. All day with no computers, no radio, no music (an adjustment...), and no stress. How perfect can it get, right?
I hope everyone is having a great day. I'll try and get a pic or two added to an album soon, so I can show you some of what I saw. :biggrin2: I must have looked like a real eccentric. I had on a pair of old yoga pants and all-terrain sandals, a t-shirt, a Tilley Endurables shirt, a USMC winter utility vest, and a proper trekking hat. Add camera bag, cameras, lenses, sunglasses, and an ugly little handbag. It was a hoot!
I need a four-shot latte with extra vanilla syrup. Caffeine will do me good. It's like my brain is still at the beach. I can still hear the sound of the surf in my ears. :smile2:

Still no relief from my suffering. Going on day 5 with no end in site. If I am not better by tomorrow then it is hospital time for me. That is not good news. As it is I am missing this entire week of school. 2 out of 3 of my teachers is cool with it, but my Karate teacher is being an a$$. I don't know what he wants me to do. It takes everything I have to put on a pair of sweats and walk to the bathroom every few hours, I certainly can not perform in Karate.

Oh PB I really feel for you and understand exactly how you feel.
I had to drag myself to the doctor again on Monday, he gave me stronger antibiotics for my chest infection, which has somehow managed to spread and cause a massive build up of fluid in my ears. The pain is unbearable, and I've had a few tears the last few days. Along with my flu symptoms and swollen glands I just feel like a wreck. I'm also missing university this week, and my main tutor is not happy that I'm having the time off...obviously they must never get sick! :glare:

Have I mentioned that I LOVE Pizza? And that brings up an interesting observation that I have made (interesting to me anyways). Sometimes when we travel on vacation to another part of the country, we will drive around looking for pizza places. I have scoured phonebooks all over the country looking for pizza places and often have a difficult time finding something besides the normal Papa Johns, Pizza Hut or Dominoes. We live near Louisville, KY and there are Pizza places EVERYWHERE. Not just the normal Fast Food Pizza places, but good, sit down, mom and pop pizza places. Some of my favorites are Wicks, Impellizaris, and Boom Bozz.

Do you find it's harder to get slice pizza in the west than in the east? In Omaha, I would go to Zio's for 2 slices and a Diet Coke for lunch, but no one seems to sell it by the slice here in N. Cali.

Our favorite place is called Tower of Pizza. It's small, with wood panelling and a jukebox full of 70s and 80s music, and there's a large window where you can watch four guys throwing the dough and making the pizzas. All the kids drag chairs up to the window to watch, and every now and then a pizza maker will come out with little pieces of dough for the kids to play with.
We order the Tower Special and a pitcher of beer - bliss.

Darn!!! Had I only known I would have been in touch last spring. We have it delivered cut and split so "just" have to stack it. This year I paid my son and one of his friends to do most of it so I only ended up having to stack 2 of the 10 cords delivered. Piece of cake -- we'll overlook the fact that it took me close to 2 months to do it. Somewhat in my defense, there was at least one and possibly two snakes hiding out in the woodpile and I was just taking enough off the top that I wouldn't disturb him/them too much. Although I've managed to not yield to the scream reflex anymore, seeing the little critters still makes my toes curl. :eek2:

Ooh! Wood....fireplace....HEAT!! I'm so cold!! I'm afraid to turn on my heater, I may end up on the moon, <swear, swear, grumble, grumble, stupid landlord> so it's a bit chilly here, I could go for sitting in front of a fireplace all nice and toasty! I've called every agency I can think of to get my heater fixed, and they all say it's the landlord's responsibility. Well, the way he acted when the gas company was here, I know he won't pay to have it fixed, and well, last winter, he almost blew us all up trying to fix it himself, so....well, hopefully, new place here I come soon, LOL! I'm waiting to hear about a new place, on the edge of Freetown, which is close to my Wampanoag Native American spirits, who I adore and honor so much. So keep your fingers crossed for me, it has central heat and central air, so no more space heater, or blowing up and ending up on the moon, eating cheese! But mmmm, fireplace sounds so good right now Ms. Mod, I'm jealous, can I come stay with you?? I'll tell you nice scary ghost stories, and I won't kidnap you!! Though, I may peek at your notes and see if YOU know SK's agent's name, hehe!
Nice HOT cup of hot chocolate please!! Fireplace, for sure on the side!

....an added plus to having me stay. I was quite a snake catcher as a kid (yup all tomboy here, hehe) and if worse comes to worse, I'll call my oldest son. I swear that kid is The Crock Hunter's kid, even though I never met him! Except my son would be the "turtle hunter"! I wonder, I'll have to go look, if I've got any pictures of the friggin THREE FOOT WIDE snapping turtle that boy wrastled!! Little ole snake ain't nothin' after that, we'll protect you, Ms. Mod, now move over while I warm my cold hands on that fireplace of yours! (Though, hmm, snakes are hibernating by now, what other creature can we need to protect you from??? Oh yeah, giant, winter ice snakes, yeah, yeah, that's the ticket!)

We don't have a fireplace either--it's a wood-burning outside furnace and about the middle of January/February when the wind is howling, snow's blowing, and it's minus 10 outside, it definitely has no charm! But it does keep the house warm.
I do know all four of his agents' names but have known them long enough not to keep notes anymore. :smile2: Would you settle for a hot cup of coffee?

No screeching but an occasional Oh, Jeebus H. Christ, WTF are you doing there?! Maybe Sammy went to visit them! A month or so ago my partner brought in a long snake skin, which I can only assume belonged to Sammy, to show me . I haven't seen him since. The snake, that is, although I did give serious consideration to having my partner leave, too! He knows how I feel about snakes! He likes them and doesn't it figure that I was always the one seeing Sammy, not him?! :glare:

LMAO!! I'll have Crock Hunter Jr wrastle Sammy into submission and take him home for a pet! He loves all his wild animals and would treat him well, LOL, and well, would actually relocate him for you!
Hmm, nothing on paper, eh? Hmm, what did I do with those hypnotism CD's I've got around here somewhere?? :dizzy:
Wood stove, fireplace...they're all warm, and yup, cup of coffee will do me! If it's hot, I'm there!

Good afternoon, folks. Today is my Friday night, the end of my work week, even though it is only Monday. I need a cup of tea to finish getting my mind all happy and fully awake. Still struggling with not feeling so great, but that is my life. Compared to how I felt on Friday, let's just say I no longer believe I will have to call the doc. That's good enough for me.

We got word that my husbands uncle has just a few days to live. He has brain cancer and it is terminal. I feel terrible that I can not go with my husband to his bedside in Phoenix but after already missing a week of school by being sick, I can not miss anymore. My husband's pain is horrible. I held him while he sobbed last night. His uncle is refusing treatment. I don't blame him, they said they could probably prolong his life, but he would eventually lose the battle. He does not want to live as he is now. He does not want to prolong his suffering. His refusal for further treatment has caused division in the family, but I feel it should be up to him. No one else knows the torment he is dealing with.

:oh:In July, I was in a traffic collision. My car was rearended, triggering a chain reaction in which I hit the car in front of me, it hit the car in front of it, and the 3rd car hit the car in front of it. I still have some neck pain, my car suffered over $1500 of damage (insurance paid). The person who hit me was ticketed for driving too fast and driving without insurance.
So I have to go to court Thursday to testify as a witness and have to use a vacation day to do it.

Days off! Today, tomorrow, and the next day. I made it.
Halloween was fun at work. One of my coworkers dressed up as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. It was great. I'm just tired from this particular weekend of work. Today is a new day, right? Planning on walking the dog after I have a hot water tank killer of a shower. Nothing like using up all the hot water when I know I don't have to save some for the next in line, provided I do it early enough.
I'm making turkey soup today. I'll try to remember to bring some into the Cantina later on to share with you all. It's good for what ails ya.

I'm afraid it means that from now on, I will be posting a lot in the I didn't catch you thread -LOL- and hope you will be so kind of answering my questions, as you always do

Being a big fan of Marilyn Savant, I took her advice of her column of the past Sunday's "Parade". I am always freezing inside or out in the winter. She said we are cold because of low humidity inside. I fired up a pan of steaming water on the kitchen range (like my Grandma did) and for a wonder, it does feel warmer. Science wins again.

Is it too early for a bottle of Stoli? What a night at work last night! I ran my tail off all night, then when it was time to go, I looked at the relief pharmacist and said he could alarm the store and lock it. He said that he didn't know how and nobody gave him any keys.
If he at least had keys, I could have alarmed the store.
I called the manager, got her out of bed and she came to the store so we could get out of there and go home. I'm sure somebody's head has been seen rolling across the pharmacy carpet by now...

Last night I was talking to one of the ladies from the pharmacy. Apparently a head did roll, but it was high enough up the ladder in that department that it was a reprimand, and not a job loss... What comes around goes around. That person treated most of the staff like crap in one staff meeting not that long ago and now she got hers...
