Good morning all. I am so glad to be able to partake in these cyber treats!!! My diet and exercise routine is already showing me results. I have lost 13lbs. I want to lose 10-15 more, my trainer says that it is not an unattainable or unrealistic goal so I am going for it. Really looking forward to this weekend. Although we are supposed to have strong winds, it is going to be beautiful. I plan on doing some much needed yard work. :smile2::bat: Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

She walks through the doors with a silly grin on her face, and an empty irish mug. All the patrons of the Cantina, turn from their conversations, and shout out simultaneously, " Bien Venida a la Cantina!"

She came here to drink and be merry. She may be a newbie, but it's ok. She never knew this place existed, and now she won't let it get away.

"I'll have whatever they're drinking."

It's been raining since Wednesday. Now, from California to Tennesse, the storms are rolling through. Some say the Texas drought has ended. We'll just have to wait and see.....

Hi, everyone! Back from Disneyworld, and happy to see the cantina so crowded.

Ms. Mod - please let Steve know that I waited for two hours at the Rose and Crown Pub in Epcot. He was supposed to meet me there Thursday for fish and chips at noon and never showed. I was forced to drink two pints of Bass and eat a frozen banana while I waited. Hmph. See if I buy The Dome.

It seems to me I've heard that song before.... the one about Steve writing the earworm column. Blah, blah, blah. He's writing about torture, villains and Breaking Bad, but I'll believe the earworm story when I see it in print (or on my monitor). Methinks he's spending too much time in front of the television, eating Fritos and Goobers and watching Nancy Grace screeching about the tot mom, and plotting new ways to tease the MB members.

Hi,

Good Whatever Everyone !!!!

Just got back from visiting my son and his family, and playing with Jennifer (now seven months), she hasn't quite got the hang of crawling yet, but she's sure mastered rolling - they're referring to her as the 'roly-poly show' LOL

And it was lovely to see (they live in a village to the North of Glasgow), the hosts of golden daffodils, and the springtime colours of the start of the Scottish Highlands, which you can see from their living room window.

Hope all is good with everyone on this sunny 1st of April!

Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm on needles, but I hope Monday will finally bring the much needed relief regarding LRH...

Besides being fooled by Jordan's little prank there (lol, I wouldn't figure it was a joke in a million years!), I also had a crazy April 1st in the office... See, I like this guy that I've seen only a couple of times, but he always looked at me, we even greet each other etc. And on April 1st of all days, I got a call from him! Since I told all my friends about him, I thought it was a prank!LOL So, after a very pleasant talk, when I figured it's maybe too good to be true, a colleague of mine from work called him from the office phone, just to see if it's really his number and stuff, she pulled the classic wrong number routine, and it seemed it's really him... but he wasn't answering my sms I sent him, and I was about to dismiss it all, when he walked into our office! I was about to faint! He formally introduced himself, we made small talk, I told him about our "checking up", to which he responded that he figured it out since he called the informations and asked about the number loool... major blushing from my part there! Anyways, it all went exceptionally well, he said he'll let me know when he's in town so we can go out for a coffee or something, maybe even this weekend! I made it through these two days and sent him a message today, asking if he might be coming or so, but no answer!

I also have to explain how he got my number - his sister had some stuff to do regarding health insurance, and that's where my mom works. She (the sister) saw my picture on my mom's desk and asked if I was her daughter etc.etc., in short, she knows me and asked for my number (we both went to the same high school and so on). Well anyhow, after all this, she sent me a message today, and said she and her brother might be coming soon to get me out of the office to grab a cup of coffee! But what I don't get is why isn't he answering my sms? For the first sms he didn't answer, he said he was in a hurry and apologised (he said that when he visited me in the office). Now, I still don't know all parts of the story, like, did his sister asked for my number because she knew he liked me? What the hell is going on? Am I making any sense?:biggrin2:

I really really really like this guy, he is soo goodlooking and nice! It was madness in the office, because during our talk, my two friends were giggling in the corner! They both said he was blushing like a traffic light when he entered the office! And it's so weird that he called me, because the last time we saw each other was exactly a month ago, and during this time I tried to find out who he is! I hope to see him next week!

Thanks for listening!

Don't answer the phone if they call on those days, LP.

Yeah, sometimes on my days off, I have selective hearing loss. For some reason I just don't hear the phone ring....

Or, I have actually told the manager in the past that I will not answer the phone on those days and not to bother. She understands.

Anyways, I am definitely looking forward to time off. It'll feel like a freakin' vacation to me!

I will my news on my health in spoiler because some might not want to hear some of the gross stuff... or too personal stuff. :oo:

Doc went scoping and found no tumors or anything dangerous to my health in my colon. No ulcers or anything else within my stomach to cause the pain and bleeding. He did say that my stomach is little red and a bit irritated. Next week I will be updated with more on my health. I cannot drink beer at all. I will end up with cirrhosis of the liver. Soooo, ultra sound revealed my liver is inflamed and I should continue with the way I have been making changes to my diet to remain health. As for the bleeding, so far it is unexplained and I cannot wait until next week when they tell me.

I am here now... Just to update the Tet Mates that worry of me. I did my finals last week and I got two 'B's' and one 'C'. I am happy with those grades considering I was sick for most of the last two units. I am getting better slowly. I spending more time outside when I can. I finally got all my stuff out of storage. With all that came my Sai King collection (takes almost half of the twenty boxes I have) and then all my different pieces of wood I found on the beach while walking. I am going to keep myself busy and away from the bad habits I developed over the years of a 'wasted youth'. I only want to smoke a cigarette now. Of all things... I want tobacco... Mmmmm.... Mint flavored cancer... But, I am fighting it. I have too many needing me here to croak and not be able to help. The ones that do come to me for help, I tell them I cannot really do much because I, myself, am sick. If you need to sit and have someone talk to, then I am all ears. Or just a hug, whatever but just know I cannot take any one on to help them break their habits just yet. I have quite a few of people very proud of me because all the children, or youths my age here are into pills, alcohol or both... Sex, rape and other b***sh!+ that don't need to be happening and past on to the next generation. Am I doing this for someone other than myself? Well Yes and No, I mean yeah I am trying to better myself so if my son ever does come looking for his father I can say "I am right here son." Son is the main drive behind all this. My recent partner is another driving force. I am leaving a long post and do apologize big-big. I will drop in again, and if I don't make it before this weekend; well Have a good weekend and I wish all you the best. If any have given me any good vibes or prayers... Thankee big-big.

Loves, Prayers, Hugs and Good vibing to all Mates,

Good morning, I've had myself some hot chocolate and chicken soup...!

Feeling a little beaten, to be honest. It's not so bad today since I finished The Talisman earlier and am in a pretty good mood. Yesterday we gotten ourselves a gig at the biggest bar in the area (named: "The Ghetto Bar"; it makes me cringe at our current culture at times) and during practice mid-day we had a phone call telling us that we no longer had the gig. We have just recorded a demo in the bedroom (only cover songs) and are in the process of giving it out to other bars for some more gigs, and we had given a copy to this bar of the ghetto variety the previous night. The guy said he listened to the CD and it was 'too slow'. This is such a frustratingly helpless scenario since we had decided to do more pop-orientated and laid back songs since we have older audiences who want songs they can sing along to... it seems really trivial but at the end of this month I am flat broke big-time and I just feel like I'm getting bullied by some manifestation along the lines of... "So you thought you'd have a good time if you moved out to where the sun shines? I got news for you, kid, I'm gonna keep kicking your ass 'til you say UNCLE!"

It's just really disheartening that whenever a good positive confidence concerning me and my activities (the above scenario in particular) comes along I get pushed back down until every bump in the road gets me thinking about going home. I wish I could get given a break, ya know?

Well sorry to vent... just a little hard to be expected to sit and take it with optimism 24/7. :suspect:

Hi,

Have a great Easter everyone !!!

However/whatever you're celebrating, in whatever way, and I realise that some aspects of Easter aren't exactly a cause for celebration today amongst many Christians, have a good one, and enjoy the ice-cream (soon, Kim, soon LOL).

And the bunny (hare) and the eggs came from far older pagan fertility beliefs, Wolf, but I think we just grafted chocolate onto the celebrations fairly recently.

Hey, any excuse for chocolate's a good excuse IMO.

Hi MB-tet! After a couple of weeks away (mandatory), I’m here again. I appreciate the messages some of you left and the thoughts that some of you may have for me. Thank you all!
Things are not improving, Gaby still is unemployed and I’m feeling a little jumpy, not completely worried, but you know… We cannot live only on my salary, which is pretty low, but G is having his “dismissal indemnification” in monthly payments by his former boss, who is forgetting that and needs to be reminded constantly. :glare: The unemployment help from the government is useless (less than US$ 50 a month). By May I’ll be freaking out. So please pray for us (you don’t want to see me all crazy loose :wink2:).
Well guys, I’ll be around all day along, so I’m getting a camomille tea and off to bean bag central. Oh, lots of chocolate on Sunday (and Monday, and Tuesday, and while there ‘s still a miserable crumble around). :biggrin2: I made some chocolate eggs myself, as I’ve been doing since many years lately. I finish exhausted but I love to give them to my close ones. Too bad I don’t take pictures (yeah, I’m a bad friend without a camera), but just imagine I’m bringing a big one to the Cantina (sorry for the bad glace decoration, my hand pulse is terrible, but the chocolate is fine). Just leave the candy inside for MsMod who doesn’t like chocolate (I forgive her because she’s great, but… why oh why Marsha?). :wink2:

Chocolate egg for everyone! Have a great day!

We only had the tail end of that system that hit GA and the south east yesterday- but thus far three distinct areas in my county have been hit by either straight line winds or tornadoes. At least 24 homes are damage. No loss of life reported- thankful. Many other parts of the state are effected also.

Spidey and critters are safe. Very Thankful. Mother Nature has to get her act together. Maybe some anger management classes/ aromatherapy/a good spa:wink2:

Hi folks. I see most everyone has had a nice weekend. I survived mine. Feeling a little off with the return of the increased UV levels. (Lupus is a real drag.)

Anyways, I'm having fun with life for the most part. I need a four-shot latte with double vanilla syrup today, I think. I still feel like half of my brain wants to sleep.

Have a great night, folks!

(I'll pass on the ice cream and strawberries. You might find me hunting around for some of that leftover cake.)

*Wulf walks in with his head hung low and his broad brim hat hiding his face. He has red, teary tired eyes. He looks up as he settles down in a bean bag.* "I will have water please."

Update on my health will be in spoiler because I don't want to gross anyone out or upset any toes I might mud stomp on while I walk by.

Ultrasound proved that if I did not quick drinking in September I would have Cirrhosis of the Liver. Pretty much knocking on Lady Death's Door, but instead my current wife answered. Praise the Father for that. I am thankful because as far as my health it is shot and it is going to take time to heal. My liver is still at risk of failing. The scopes turned up no tumors or cancer or anything else, but my stomach is a bit red and irritated badly. Small favors there, say Thankee Big-Big to the Father again. *Grins* BUT...... I have no stomach liner and that will take months and months as well. If I drink another alcohol drink I will have cirrhosis of the liver... I am not allowed beer and soda. No Tylenol, aspirin and ibephorn due to liver. None did me any good since I am immune to them. So, with my second or third chance at life I believe I will do all the good I can because you never know when you might check out. :smile2: Still going to school and I finished pretty strong for being so sick during finals; two B's and one C. I say I did a great job. I wish you Tet Mates all the best and think about that beer when you sit down to have one. It is just a thought, but *shrugs* I have learn my lesson and if I haven't I believe wife or moma has a clam shovel in waiting.

Good morning folks. It IS still morning where I am. Had a customer last night who went pretty much apoplectic with the new tech in the pharmacy. Wow. Luckily the owner was there and she was able to get to the situation before he did something stupid in his misplaced anger. Another employee and I also spoke to her about problems with the temp pharmacist who is filling in at the moment. Guy thinks he is the best because he is a pharmacist and most of the others are not. Basically thinks his crap don't stink, if you get my drift. He's been taken down a notch or two now, and he slunk out of there last night like the bottom feeder he has proved himself to be. Mission accomplished.

What is it with folks who insist on thinking they are better than everyone else? We're all in this together and all fill different roles.

Anyway, I will have a cold Coke to go today!

Last year I had a yellow jacket nest in my attic. :eek2: We could hear them buzzing all night and it was freaky. Took a while to eradicate them. Other than that, the assorted flying buggers move in to any nook, crevice or cranny they can find around here. Traps don't work and it bugs me to no end that we actually choose to spray pesticide to kill them. No choice. I cannot afford to be stung.

Good luck!

Most of the celebrating is done in Massachusetts with the annual reenactments of the ride of Paul Revere, first battle with the British, and the more current event being the Boston Marathon. I think the only reason Maine still considers it a holiday is because of its past association of being part of the original Massachusetts colony. I celebrated by staying home and working on a quilt. I'm sure seamstress, Betsy Ross, would have been proud (well, it does have stars in it) :biggrin2:.

It is my fault and I know what I have been doing wrong. I was all ready planning to take off for a few days, but she blew up on me when I went in to get my medicine. Told her yeah I am being an @!$ but at least I apologize and half-wit try to fix things. I told her to call my mom's when she wants me back home. I ended up calling her Sunday night to speak to her. Listen to her, leave the choices up to her... I was crying when she said I still love you, we are staying together, just some space apart for a while all right babe? So, I come over to do school work, check on her, say hi to the boy and girls here <don't like being called kids, well the 18 and 19 yr young daughters at least> and straighten up what I can instead of just loofing. I am helping at my mom's place too... mainly I help by keeping my sister's children occupied while they are trying to do something or need to go take care of something. They love their uncle. I am really enjoying my time at the gym. I have lost 21 lbs and feel wonderful. I have finally gotten used to my new diet, and was actually lost the other day when I went to my fridge and found I was out of MY food. Sure there was a lot of food in there, but nothing that I was supposed to eat. I went to the store and came home with stuff I could eat and my husband made the comment, wow I guess you are committed to this diet thing huh? lol:bat:

I have mixed emotions about it. She has lived 250 miles away for 8 years now. It used to be that every time she would move I would follow her, but last time I did that I met my husband and threw away my wings in exchange for roots. My grandfathers house is sold and new people are moving into it. It is a strange feeling. I just hope that they find the happiness that I had in that house. The pool guy says he loves tarts. Hmmmm. I think he'll fit in here just fine. (My husband says he can't work at our house, gave some lame reason like "we don't have a pool" :biggrin2:)

I've got a pool. Can you send him over Kim?

The I should tell him to build one, and then he can work there.

Hey all, missed you guys, been stuck in my head with words tied in a thread.

Ah Tuesday... Never as hectic as Monday. I got a lot accomplished yesterday including planting flowers in my flower bed. The front yard is really looking good. Lots of roses in bloom, grass green, trees with beautiful spring leaves on them. Then there is my back yard, :eek2::eek2: With such a big yard we need our sickle mower to take down all of that growth, and the blade broke. :glare: Had to order one, hope it comes soon, I would like to be done with it. :bat:

Good morning folks. My husband had an editor tell him he is 'no longer allowed to use semicolons' in his articles. The dolt claims they are not used in modern English. I grabbed my copy of The Quest by Wilbur Smith and cracked it open to the first chapter. First chapter, second paragraph, first sentence... oh look, a semicolon. That editor has no formal language training and he is trying to tell my husband that semicolons are no longer used in the English language. (Do you know how long it took for me to teach him how to use them right in the first place??)

*rolls eyes*

Well, I did a Google image search for "pool boy," was gonna send a good one over to Kim, with a nice long... net, and some rather graphic and puzzling images came up, so she's on her own for now. :biggrin2: Kim, you'll have to clean your own pool today. (No euphemism intended.)

I need caffeine.Interesting. All I can say to that is they can have my semicolon when they pry it from my cold, dead ... Wait, that doesn't make sense. Anyway, one random editor does not get to remove a punctuation mark from the English language. Semicolons have very specific uses. That's like taking the J out of the alphabet. Sure, it's not used a whole lot, but when you need it, you need it.

And what's up with so many people using an apostrophe "s" ('s) which makes the word either a contraction or possessive instead of just adding an "s" when what they intend is for the word to be plural?! And "it's" which is the contraction for "it is" instead of "its" when it is meant to be possessive?! :eyebrow:

I can understand "it's" when the word intended is "its" because people think "it's possessive, so it must have an apostrophe." Though it grates, I can grudgingly see how someone could be continually confused about the two words. But yeah, I don't understand sticking an apostrophe in just when a word is plural. Maybe they are being directed by a vague sense that more punctuation is better.

Exactly. "Theirs" doesn't take a apostrophe, so why would "its"?

Thanks Gillie for the picture of those beautiful lilacs....miss all the northern flowers
at this time of year. Florida is too hot, have to settle for tropical plants in these
parts.

Hi,

Just reminded me of an old joke, Poisonbat.

Guy driving through a small town breaks down, opens the bonnet (hood) and is examining the engine when the town drunk comes up to him and asks what's wrong?

Guy replies 'Piston broke'.

Drunk says 'Yeah, me too'.

(We don't have a town drunk here; we all take turns!).

Long days and pleasant nights

Well, I made it for another lap around the sun! It's my birthday and I love growing older. It's so much better than the alternative! Lots to do and a tattoo to go and get in an hour!

I'll take a four-shot latte with vanilla syrup. I got very little sleep last night. I was just too happy over having lived another year! Growing old is a gift. Never worry about aging. I think it's great!
