I am happy to say that I am getting better each day. My dad has been a HUGE help to me as I can not lift or drive yet. My mom bailed on me several days ago, just before my husband and son were due to go back to work:glare:, but my dad stayed and is helping me. I have not heard a word from my step son since WW3 the other night, neither has anyone else. We have decided that he needs to move out. He obviously has somewhere to go since he is gone for weeks at a time. My husband thinks that this is "against the lords wishes" and that he was "un christian like" when he yelled at his son. I told him that even Jesus got angry in the Bible and not to beat himself up over his sons misbehavior. I just don't get it. I am looking forward to not having that stress in my life. Maybe my husband and I can work on our relationship if he is not driving us apart. Any way I will take a large hot green tea and be in bean bag central for now. OH and the weather for next week is calling for highs in the 80's, huh? in January? :umm::bat:

Next time your husband wonders if he's not being Christian-like, ask him how his son's doing with the fifth commandment, dishonoring his mother and father.
I'm glad you're feeling better.

I used to post here all the time... But lately, not so much
I read the postings every day to try to keep in touch
I always feel inadequate and don't know what to say
And I'm not sure what good it does when heathens, like me, pray. :eek2:

I really hope you'll all stay well and far from any harms
But, unlike Wiccans on the Board, I don't know any charms
When you get sick or lose a friend I always wish you well
When asked for prayers, I'm kinda stuck... I'm going straight to hell

At least that's what my father says - good Catholic that he is
Beliefs instilled by years of nuns... Oh well, the problem's his
I do not mind. He loves me and he prays for me each day
And, if you'd like, I'll ask him if, for all you guys, he'll pray

He spends a lot of time in church and I no longer do
The Catholic faith and I, for many reasons, are all through
But if the thoughts and hopes of one lapsed Catholic do much good
Then know I'm sending love and joy and peace and brotherhood.

:sleepy:

I'd like to join the bean bag group but know that I'd get stuck
To get me out of one of those we'd need a pickup truck
I think I'll grab a coffee and go settle in a chair
Is that a fireplace I see? Feel free to join me there.

Life continues to be interesting. I'm hoping that the snow in the area used by the farmer's market has melted enough in the right places. If not, I won't be going. I'm going to go for a drive to check it out later today.

Still no word from my step son, I kinda thought he may make an appearance over the weekend, but no. I REALLY hope he doesn't show up with his attitude while I am here by myself. I finally get to drive today after 2 weeks of having to have someone give me a lift. Good morning folks! It's a day off so I guess that means I am working at home today. It's been ages since I made soap, so I really should try to get my butt in gear and do it. I'm thinking of doing lavender soap and my B*I*T*C*H soap (Small print below title on wrapper says 'babe in total control of herself'). If I don't start to make soap again, I will run out of stock! Oh well, it was nice to take a break for part of fall and winter.

I think I need a case of Coke to go. It's going to take a lot of caffeine to get me through the day.

Hey, I just cracked open my copy of 'The Quest' by Wilbur Smith. I was going to look at it really quick, since now that I have purchased this one, I have everything of Wilbur's again. He writes so beautifully about Africa that I almost went to Africa in my early 20's.

Anyways, inside the book, on the first page past the cover, is this:

'Wilbur Smith's swashbuckling novels of Africa - the bodices rip and the blood flows. You can get lost in them and misplace all of August'

Stephen King

Am I the first here to see this quote? :grinning:

Hey Poisonbat, I may have an answer for you on the riding in the car but not driving it...I think because when you ride in a car you don't have to move your lower body parts or your arms and legs but when you drive...you do. This may be the reason. Not sure of the circumstances of your situation, however, when I had surgery they would not let me drive because the doctors didn't want certain muscles used for a while until they healed:) JMO, have a great day and I am glad that you finally got to drive, there is nothing worse than relying on someone else to take you somewhere:eek2:

I guess this makes sense, I thought it had more to do with the risk of an accident and the seat belt hitting me right where I had my surgery. But you do use extra muscles while driving, I did not think of this, thanks. I cleaned my house a bit yesterday but found that I still do not have the stamina that I once enjoyed, this will come back in time. I hate having a house that needs cleaning and not being able to do it all at one time, but I figure if I do a bit each day it will get done. I will take a large hot green tea with lots of honey and be out on the patio. It is gonna be in the high 80's here today and I want to enjoy the sun. :bat:

I really messed up. I noticed yesterday that I had forgotten to pay 3 different bills. One was the registration on my son's car! It is due on the 16th of this month. Yup, just a few days. So I had to take his car on an emergency basis to get smogged yesterday. Damn California laws. Found out that his catalytic converter has to be replaced. Damn again. Due to a long term family relationship with the smog guy, my uncle, I was able to obtain this smog certificate at a cost of $207. The registration for the car is only $53 for the year. So I guess I am off to AAA today to get a current registration card for my son. I also forgot the registration for my husbands truck, at least it isn't due until the 31st and I was able to pay that on online. The last was a medical bill that was also due on the 16th, I was able to pay that on over the phone. I can not believe that I was this irresponsible. It is not like me. I have also been fighting my health insurance to pay an outstanding bill that they owe. This is a hard task. The insurance says that the provider must call them, and the provider says that they have already billed for these services. Catch 22, This bill is over $700 and now my doctors office is going to withdraw care from me until it is resolved. I don't know what to do. So much stress, I did not even sleep well last night. I was sorry that I took the a/c out of my front window yesterday, it was 85* and I sweated my butt off. Shorts and a tee shirt in January? Very strange. I will take a large iced tea and kick it on the patio for awhile before it gets too hot. :bat:

Hey Buckwheat and Pyro, how you boys doing? (drops a couple of fat mice for them) I had the weirdest thing happen to me yesterday, I woke up from a brief nap to find I was blinded in my right eye. No pain, no trauma, just very little vision. I thought at first that I may have slept on it wrong and sat on the couch waiting for it to come back. Did not happen. Then I got really scared and started calling doctors. Of course my doctor happened not to be in yesterday, so they sent me to talk with my OB/GYN doctor since he was the last to see me. HUH? They of course did not know what to do and sent me to Urgent care. The doctor looked at my eye and told me that I had a migraine. I told him that I had no pain, it could not be a migraine. He told me to trust him and he gave me a shot of Imatrex. (sp?) This shot was given to me in my belly, ouch. But in less than 5 minutes I had my eye site back. He told me when he came back in that it was an Ocular Migraine or sometimes called a Silent Migraine that just affects the eye. I did a little research when I came home, and sure enough that is just what it was. Very strange indeed. :eek2::bat:

He told me to trust him and he gave me a shot of Imatrex. (sp?) This shot was given to me in my belly, ouch. But in less than 5 minutes I had my eye site back. He told me when he came back in that it was an Ocular Migraine or sometimes called a Silent Migraine that just affects the eye. I did a little research when I came home, and sure enough that is just what it was. Very strange indeed. :eek2::bat:

Wow. I have never heard of that kind of migraine. I usually get the classic variety, complete with visual disturbances and everything else that makes them so brutal.

Take it easy, even with the Imitrex.

That's some scary and strange stuff. Glad to hear you're okay and that the shot worked. I've been to the emergency room about six times for really intense migraines where the left side of my body will go numb and my brain stops working right, but even then I've had blurred vision. I never lost it. I hope that never happens to you again.

Good morning all and happy Friday. I am so upset with my daughter. I do not know how such a self absorbed person came from my loins. My daughter lives with her father about 50 miles away. I have only visitations with her every other weekend. This happens to be a 3 day weekend. She is very upset that she "has to" spend this extra day with me. She only wants to see me when she wants something. This weekend she wants to come down because her grandma lives in the same city that I do and she wants her to make her a dress for winter formal. She asked me if she could leave with her boyfriend on Sunday. This really hurts. She is in drama in high school and this is the last weekend that I will get to see her before she starts weekend rehearsals for her play. I will not even get to see her for several months. She lays guilt trips on me when I tell her that I want her to stay with me, and has a terrible attitude if she is here and not doing what she wants to do. Sometimes locking herself in the bathroom for hours just so she doesn't have to see me. I am at my wits end with her. I just don't know what to do, if I give in, she will not change. If I don't I am locked out of her world. Having a 15 almost 16 year old daughter is super hard. Any suggestions?:bat:

I firmly believe that one day, years from now but hopefully not too many, she will realize how much she hurt your feelings and she will feel truly sorry. Best thing you can do is treat her fairly, be consistent, and be patient. 15-16 is a bad age, remember? I know I was utterly self-absorbed at that age. I thought I was the hottest thing since sliced bread. Then one day I realized what a little t*rd I had been and that my mother treated me so well even when I treated her like dirt. Thats when I realized what a great person she is.

Ka, again! It didn't hurt to have an incredibly skilled pilot as well!

Well, good morning everyone. I might not seem like myself in the next while, but please bear with me. I've had more details of some childhood incidents emerge and I'm working on assimilating those memories and I'm not feeling social, so if you don't see me around as much, it'll be okay. Hey everyone, it's been a while. Happy Friday indeed!

I just wanted to say to Poinsonbat that I was that teenager. I was nasty and sometimes I couldn't even tell you why. There's this weird thing between a mother and a daughter. I want to tell you that I do feel sorry. I feel embarrassed for things I did and said. There was an anger in me then that seems to be all but a memory now. Things really got better for me when I moved out on my own. Now I have a slight idea of what it's like to run a home. I feel closer to her now and I hope that our relationship will continue to grow. Hang in there.

Hello to all, I am so glad to be in the cantina this morning. What a stressful weekend. I was so stressed that I had a serious nose bleed. That has only happened 2 other times in my life, the death of my grand parents. I finally had to ask my daughter to go home. I have never had someone that I love speak to me in such a way. I must say that I was relieved when my boys came to me in support of my decision and just held me as I cried. I spoke with her father on the phone and he was not happy with her at all. I have decided to just let her go for the time being and let her do her thing. We can talk and possibly come up with a solution later. She screamed and yelled at me so loudly that she woke up everyone in the house. All I asked her to do was spend 4 days a month with me, and she told me that all I was trying to do was make her feel bad. :glare: Oh well, maybe in a few weeks when she cools down. It is much cooler today, after several days in the 80's I am welcoming the 70's for today. I will be on the patio sipping some cold green tea. :bat:

Having listened to President Obama's speech today (live on british radio) I can say I was very impressed with his passion, and honest outlook at some of the worlds current problems. I believe he can definately make a difference and hope in the next few years to come he will achieve what he wants America to achieve.
I'm sure this will have a good effect on the Britsh (and other countries) and we can all look forward to a bright future.

Hello everyone, hope all are well. It is raining today, such a nice change from the heat. I am feeling much better today, I am not letting my situation discourage me. Both of my friends at YAPS are quitting this week, it is so bad that they can not stay there anymore. The heartbreak is too much for them. I knew what was going to happen months ago, that is why I left then. I tried to post an article in the news paper about what is going on at YAPS, but they told me that they would not post anything negative about them because the editor is good friends with the head of the board of directors. This was told to me by a lady at the counter when I brought my article to them. So much for that, I have sent it to other papers, have not heard anything about it. It may come down to a public out cry in front of a super market to get the word out. Letters to the supporters of Yaps, let the people know what is going on. It is a tragedy. I will be in bean bag central with Spidey.:bat:

Hello everyone, hope all is well. Things are slowly coming together here. I managed to have a civil conversation through email with my daughter. The email idea was mine, I do not want a texting war again with her. I sent her an email about how hard it is to lose your children to adulthood. I also told her that I loved her. We communicated for about 5 emails, she said that maybe someday she would FULLY understand when she becomes a mom herself. My heart is just empty and can not find anything to fill it. Sadness fills my days and nights. My eldest son wants me to help him fill out applications for a new career.:eek2: Wow almost 20, that has hit me hard as I know he will be leaving soon. My second son is filling out applications to colleges, I only have 3 more legal visitations with him, he will be 18. I do not know how to deal with all of this, any advise would be greatly appreciated. I have been a mom for 20 years and do not know how to be anything else. :bat:

It is ME! n8v_outlaw

*Wulf walks into the Cantina. He sits down at the bar and orders a tall glass of water.*

Hile Tet Mates!

I have no clue what I was doing yesterday. I just got a funky hair acting up yesterday. Good thing for those pair of shears that were by the bathroom mirror. :oo: So yeah, I tried to get my n8v_outlaw back; I was denied. I tried my other email account; I was denied. I gave up and made a brand new email account for Sai King, Ms. Mod, and all you Tet Mates.

Lilly, yes life is going good for me now. I can stop being a complete nut. Thank you. ((((((Lily)))))

I would like to apologize Tet Mates. I am here to stay this time. No more funky stuff. Thank you Ms. Mod and I do deeply apologize for all the trouble I am causing.

I am so tired this morning. I didn't sleep much again. I'm just feeling... off.

I do have a full shift of work today that I have to complete, and I have to get ready for the farmer's market in the morning.

If there are a couple of spare hugs lying around, I could sure use them.

((((Ladypain)))))) Hugs BIG-BIG! In December, last month, I did not sleep for three weeks straight. Depression is the issue I have some times. If you need a hug or someone to help you through; I am here. Hugs, Good Vibes, and Prayers BIG-BIG!

I am doing better. I am a lot better. I am trying something out that my wife suggested. Instead of blowing steam and getting all fussy (not to mention losing control) over a situation I cannot control. She wants me to act in a manner fashion, proper and mature like a true knight would. I frowned at her but I told her she is right, because I haven't been following my own Knight Code as of lately.
Today I am following my Code closely and I have been mature to everyone I had to deal with today. :glare: I have court some time today, because my mom wants me there. I am all dressed nice and sharp.
Plus really, really, really tired. I will have a large water with a few ice cubes. Say thank-ya!
I was up most of last night actually drawing full scale pictures. Not just random doodles, but an actual art piece. I drew a crow, a self portrait, and one of a female changing to a wolf. I like the crow the most.
I am off to lay down until they call me for my court date with Moma.

For the first time in my adult life, I have been forbidden to leave the house. I told my husband that I needed a break and he told me no I wasn't going anywhere. I kinda feel like a child that has been sent to their room for bad behavior. My son did apologize to me, but I do not know what I am to do with my daughter. She called her ex step mother to come speak with her over the weekend, and she spent hours condemning me and told her that she should be selfish at 15. She said some harsh things about me, and my daughter just listened and took it all in. My son was there, he heard all of this and many negative things were said about him too. His dad told him that he was not to say anything to her or he would kick him out. I can not wait until my second son graduates and moves in with me so that I can be done with all of this. I am having problems sleeping, getting up at 4 am is taking it's toll on me. :glare::bat:

Good morning to all. Happy news to report on Virginia:
it was not a stroke. Rather her body going into shock from a panic attack, fatigue and fasting for blood work. Since her short term memory is not good from the original stroke, her non responsiveness caused them to believe it might be another stroke. Add an anxious husband and visiting daughter to the situation. Virginia is home and well.

Thank you for all the prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. Spidey, I am so very glad that your friend is alright. Panic attacks are no fun at all. I woke again at 4, but took a shot of Nyquil and went back to sleep until 7. I have a screaming headache this morning, hope it goes away. I have made an appointment to see my doctor today, I don't know what he can do for me, but we will see. My mind is going places that it shouldn't. My husband asked me for the thousandth time to go look at his stupid car that he is painting. He ruined it. He was to put 2 coats of clear on it, he put 5. He asked he how it looked, I was honest with him. I told him it looked terrible. When I asked why he did not follow the directions, he told me that he doesn't always do what people tell him. DUH. He now has to sand the whole car again and start over. I was hoping that he would be done with this by now, but nope, he has plans on "fixing" it for this weekend. I am glad that I will have my sons with me. I am not picking up my daughter, I can not take one more drop of stress.

Hang in there, Wulf, tell the doctor everything that ails you, and get well. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll be okay here. I'm not a scared little kid. I do know how to take care of myself. I just have to maintain strength and flexibility to do so.

*walks back into the Cantina with a big goofy grin on his face. he adjust his hat and takes it off when he sits next to LadyPain. He orders a coke. He takes a sip*

It was a rather embarrassing :eek2: visit, but I will be okay. It should heal up in a couple of weeks; if not then I will have to start worrying.

You are welcome.

Good morning everyone, hope all is well with you. I went and spent time with my friend Lauren yesterday. It was good, we had lunch and talked. It is strange though, Lauren is just 18 but I don't look at her as a kid. She has become a fast friend of mine. Someone I can really talk to. I went to Yaps to pick her up and OMG things there are horrible. I wont even get into that. For the first time in weeks I see a candle at the end of my dark tunnel. Now just if some A$$hole doesn't blow it out,:glare: I should be fine. :bat:

Hi,

Have a Great Weekend, Everyone !!!

All good here. I had a most enjoyable phone chat with Srbo last night, a real gentleman, just as you would expect. He told me some stories of his experiences in Bosnia and we agreed that they're not really suitable for the SKMB, but I'm trying to convince him to translate his book into English as I really believe they should be available at a bookshop near you. The West should know about the atrocities that went on in a supposedly civilized country only a few short years ago IMO. Translate that book PLEASE, Srbo!

This weekend has been hard and wonderful. I finally put my foot down with my daughter and things are better. I had to give her a consequence for her behavior and it really got though to her. I have not had to use any type of punishment towards my children in years, but I had to make my stand with her. I took back the control she had over me and put her in her place. This has helped with my depression so much. It just took some figuring out on my part. Thank you all for bearing with me.:bat:

I am getting on with life, but I discovered last night that I am still quite fragile. The slightest harshness from anyone sends me into an anxiety attack. My son yelled at me last night, it was harsh and uncalled for. I accidentally scratched his arm while moving a trash can, I thought it no big deal. But when we got into the house he yelled at me that I should have been concerned and not lied about hurting him. I was puzzled as I had not said anything to him. I asked him do you think I hurt you on purpose? He told me that I should have been concerned, but how badly can you hurt someone with a plastic trash can? He is always over dramatic about any injury, even a small scratch from the kitten. It turns out that I made a tiny 1 inch scratch on his left arm. I said I was sorry that I had hurt him and went to bed. I guess this whole thing with my daughter has left me wounded and unable to take harshness of any kind. My son apologized to me this morning for yelling at me and told me that he over reacted. I lost a few apples last night. With so few they are very much so missed. :bat:

Yesterday my dear friend got fired from Yaps for complaining about how the animals were being treated. She was devastated to find out that they had already hired her replacement and had her train her before they let her go. She has been there for years and the only explanation that they gave her was that they needed someone who was " On board " with the new rules. Very sad indeed. My other friend who still works there has had her hours cut back so much that she is losing her place to live. They cut her from 30 hours back to 15 in an effort to starve her out. :glare: I don't know what is going to happen to these poor pitiful animals now that their only advocate is gone.:bat:

I will pick him up and 2 of his friends tomorrow. There will be 9 of us going to play laser tag on Saturday night. I managed to convince his girlfriends mom to let her come. They are ultra strict but they said that they will bring her and drop her off and then come an pick her back up. This will be the first time they let her go on a "date" with my son.
