Okay, so who can tell me about ghosts? I have just moved and so far everyone in my house (including the cat) has gotten hurt in bizarre accidents. A coffee maker exploded glass and hot coffee all over my husband, my roommate fell while standing still and bruised her ankle badly, my other cat freaked out while laying on me for no reason and I'm scratched all to hell, and things keep randomly breaking for no reason. HELP!!! What do I do????
Run, don't walk, to the nearest door and don't look back:oo:

Hi,
In my experience, cats (and dogs) are far more attuned to things than we are.
If an animal tells me something seriously, I'll listen.
LOng days and pleasant nights

Happy Birthday Volic... Twenty nine, right?
I've always wondered why more people don't just hear that voice and go. But, oh no... They all climb the stairs into the dark attic or the creepy cellar and then act surprised when something grabs them. :eek2: However, if relocation is not an option, I know some of the members here have made suggestions in the past about protective charms. Have you checked out that ghost thread Shasta? I seem to remember something there.
Happy Monday everyone... Oscar? Please put everyone's whatever on my tab. I think I'll join Sai John in an Irish coffee.

Shasta, I would seriously look in to having your house checked out or even blessed. Burning sage usually works well, at least for me. When we moved into this house, strange noises and voices were heard. My children reported seeing a woman sitting on our couch smoking cigarettes. Many things were being moved around, but thank God, no injuries. We bought some sage and smoked our house with it. We haven't seen the woman, but we have come to live with the strange sounds and voices. But if they are injuring you, then I would do something to get them to stop. Have you thought of callings T.A.P.s? Even if they do not investigate, they can give you some ideas on what to do. :bat:

Shasta,
My house is inhabited and there were accidents for a while but I had a chat with the ghost and more or less told him to be nice or get the frig out. And I told him that I could make him leave. He still hides things from us on occasion. Pissed my guy to all hell and back when he'd swiped a freshly rolled doke from off a counter in the shop. Things just disappear and if I go postal on the ghost he puts them back. My husband will ask where the stuff came from and I will tell him that I had a chat with "Mister Ghost".
Do a banishing if you have to, laying salt across all of the door ways (and window sills) but one, then salt that one after the banishing, then do a blessing. Perhaps that will help. BUT, you must stay focused and strong.

Hello Everyone!
I spent yesterday in a boat on a lake, it was beautiful. However, I'm hurting and slightly embarrassed at my new "look" I never did think red was my color...
I will take something warm to cool me down (heard somewhere that works) and a bottle of aloe vera gel.
Shasta-I also experienced "something" going on in our old place, the advice I was given was to talk out loud and basically state "this is where I live now" sort of thing when ever you felt the presence. I did just that and didn't have a problem since, although this "thing" was never aggressive so I would do some more research if I were you. Best of luck!

Good Tuesday. I think most in Florida are doing OK. It hasn't come to me yet, but it did move east and not build. I'll have a lot of rain and some wind today/tonight. It came in south of most of us- Marco Island south of Fort Myers.
They are saying due to a low pressure area coming down, Fay may do a loop and turn back down the state once it gets to Jacksonville. Enough already!
There is pizza for lunch- all types and veggie too:smile2: We'll just have to have a little Hurricane Party in the Cantina.

Good morning all. I am planning a trip to my dad's house Thursday and Friday. We are taking a load of furniture out to his house from my grandpa's. It is about 500 miles round trip, and I will have to pull a trailer, but my dad is going to ride with me, possibly drive half way. So everyone say Hi to Buckwheat while I am gone. I will try to check in early Thursday, but no promises. If not, see you all on Monday. I am glad that I don't have to go alone, that would scare me to death. All that is between me and my dad's house is open desert. I will spend this morning on the patio with a tall green tea, because my afternoon is going to be a busy one.:bat:

Good morning tet-mates! I'll just grab a quick cup of tea while I browse the boards for a while. I have to take a run down to the post office and hope my package is available. They said not until 1.30, but I don't want to wait until tomorrow. I start work at that time today. Occasionally, they have them ready before listed time so I will go and hope for the best. It should be my copy of Secret Windows. That's the only thing I am expecting in the mail right now. :biggrin2:

I hope I am learning fast enough to post enough so as not to be considered an itinerant troll! I sort of barged in by joining the group, so if I am upsetting posting protocol, please let me know. I spent a good deal of time on Sat reading this thread, and you are all hilarious. I only figured out after half an hour that the board is closed on weekends. Duh. I was so excited to see all the references to SK that you bring to the patio--and I would like to come along riding Necromancer, so he can keep the other horses company, and my sister's friend, Joe, who played Lloyd the bartender in the movie version of The Shining (he's in his 80's and she says he's so great)to serve Gwen's cool drinks (and maybe some Bushmill's for Charm 7) and some protein packets (tuna salad anyone?) we can squeeze on a cracker. I was going to ask this......Has anyone figured out how to exercise and post messages? I mean isn't there some sort of butt crunches or anything of the sort? We must have an exercise guru here somewhere to help us along.

Good Evening Everyone,
GALLII love cooking, I find it helps me forget the pressure's of life (besides, the wife burns everything, so we'd starve otherwise..lol
Good old fashioned Fish 'n' Chips tonight.
Hope all are well.
My husband does all the cooking as well--it's not that I can't, it's that I'm lazy. He's a great cook; wish we could have you guys over for dinner. Today for lunch I'm having leftovers: duck slices, sauteed with chili peppers, and polenta.

someone brought in these lovely grapes from their vines, so I appropriated some for the Cantina (hope this works).
Aww, Kim, you don't know how badly I miss grapes. In my country there are plenty, different kinds and very cheap. But in Spain it's very expensive and very bad quality.
I still remember when USA boycotted our grapes. I was the happiest, had many and for free. I even made "chicha"!

Spidey and FlakeNoir-yes,thank you. I'm finally starting to brown. My Fiancé on the other hand had to sleep on the couch so I could get some shut eye, he was really hurting last night. I tried rubbing aloe on and it didn't seem to help, I heard vinegar works do you know of any home remedies??
Spidey, thank you for the breakfast, it's always a nice way to start off the day!
Happy "hump day" to all us Mon-Fri work day people, I think I'll sit on the patio with a glass of water and good book.
Sunburn, eh? I'm a red head and a lifeguard, so that's kind of a daily ailment for me.
What works best is a really good moisturizing lotion and a soft blanket. The lotion keeps you from peeling, and believe me, you don't want that. Other than that, don't touch yourself.

I am glad that my dad will be with me the whole way there and back. Had a horrible dream this morning, I dreamed that my son died. I was ever so happy to wake up from that one. I cried for a while, now I feel better. Dreams can be so powerful. I guess it is just another way that my mind is trying to come to terms with my grandfathers death. I'm having a little break at work so I thought I stop by and see who's here. I'm SOOO in the mood for a grilled banana!! What? You don't know what a grilled banana is? Well let me explain.
* First you place a banana (un-peeled) on the WARM bbq.
(this is a dessert so when the coals are 'simmering' it's the perfect time for grilled bananas)
* Turn it every now and again until it's complete black and feeling a little soft.
* Take it off the grill and place it on a plate - cut it open with a knife all the way from 'top to bottom'.
* Open it so it's like you have the actual banana in a boat (in its own 'shell'). It should be warm and soft.
.... I'm getting some different vibes right now.... LMAO
* Pour cognac, whiskey, baileys whatever you fancy and brown sugar over the banana.
* Top it off with either whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (I'm an ice cream girl myself).
DIG IN! The warm banana will melt the brown sugar and ice cream in a delicious way. :smile2: This is the best summer dessert ever!!

Hey every body. It looks like we've got some interesting concoctions lined up on the bar today. Whatever we're having, line 'em up. I'm celebrating. Probably prematurely, but I'm doing it anyway.
I just got back some early feedback about my book, Subjugation, and all things considered, it's pretty good. Words like "Gripping" and "Compelling" are being used, and my character, Diana, is being called what audiences will (potentially) view with the same fascination and dread as "A female Hannibal Lecter."
There's more to do before it hits the shelves, but all in all, I'm pretty stoked.

Good morning everyone, I had a safe trip. Lots of chocolate vibes sent to you Lady Pain. I am so glad that Fay has moved on for all of you in Florida, Sorry to hear that it is headed your way Henrytomasgirl. Can't Fay just go away and leave US alone? My mother will be going home tomorrow, I love my mom a lot, but I will be glad when she takes her stupid husband away. He has started arguments with every one he can spoke to since he has been down. None of my family even wants to go around him. I asked my mom why she puts up with that kind of stuff, but she just said that you get used to it, and she just tells him to shut up, and to let her handle it. I just want to have my life and routine back. Have a wonderful vacation Ms. Mod, You deserve it. :bat:

They are delicious and addictive. Hershey's Kisses are chocolate drops, about 1/2 inch high, shaped somewhat like a 3-dimensional triangle. Hershey also makes Hugs which are (I think) alternating chocolate and white chocolate stripes but traditionalist prefer the Kiss. It's hard to eat just one, though.

Forgot to mention this, it is good for a laugh. My ex husband loaned me a copy of Loverboys greatest hits, and I liked it so much, I asked my son to get me a copy of it online. He looked at it long and hard, he then turned to me and said " what do you want this for? All these guys in tight red pants? I will not order you a porno, if you want one, order it yourself." I looked at him and said Porno? what do you mean, it is a band. He replied with well, just look at the title and the words advertised on the front, Everybodys working for the weekend, The lucky ones, You take me to the top? and the name, Loverboy? are you sure it isn't a porno mom? I popped it into his computer and proved to him that it wasn't pornography and he promised to order one. Me and my husband had a really good laugh over that one. :bat:

Lots planned for today, including a horror movie, some art and I also need to make up some body care products to replace the ones I sold already at the market. I have been too busy. I'm also scheduling in a nap. Seems like a good idea since I have been up since 5.30.

I have looked into volunteering at my local library, it is something I think I would really enjoy and it would get me out of my house everyday. Hello everyone, I'm baaack! Did anyone miss me while I was away? I wanted to drop in and say what's up and see whats new here in the cantina. I see lots of fresh faces and it's great to see all the oldies but goodies still floatin' around here too! Congratulations to John and his beautiful new grand baby! What a great name they picked for her too!:wink2: I have been searching all the old posts they I need to catch up on, and was wondering what ever happened to MotherWolf? Does anyone have any info on her? I couldn't find her anywhere, not even in the members list. Did I miss something during my hiatus? Have a great day all, and it's good to see everyone again!

Party in the Cantina :) A very good evening/night/early morning (time zones are confusing) to all!
Lesson of the day: if you have something nasty to say (ie: SK bashing, Mod Insulting, Country hating), keep it to yourself, or you will get banned! Yay for Ms. Mod and Jordan not having to put up with that crap anymore!

*wanders in quite late, makes a cup of tea and starts to drink it quietly off in a corner*
I actually took it easy on a day off for the first time in, what, six months? I watched two movies, surfed the web a bit and made a lasagne to die for. Literally. It was calm and I got to cook. Works for me!
*finishes tea and heads off out into the night for a listen around the place*

Just came back from the Library, they don't except volunteers there. What? Oh well, I did find a beautiful copy of Hearts in Atlantis there for a quarter. It has Anthony Hopkins on the cover, since it is different than my copy, I couldn't resist. I searched through the books they had for sale, but none of the others struck my fancy. I am just confused about how a library would not take on a volunteer.:glare::bat:

Good Morning, Everyone!
Hope you guys had great weekends and are ready for a new week.
John, I just noticed on my desk calendar that Sunday Sep 7 is Grandparents Day in the US, so happy G-Day to you!
I'll take a large hot coffee and a scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream and I'm heading over to the bean bags to set a spell.

Don't mind me, I'm just going to take that bottle of Stoli out of the freezer and sit off in a corner to sketch for a while. I'll be quiet.

Good Morning everyone.
I have a day off work today, so I thought I'd pop in to the Cantina and say Hi. Hope everyones Weekend went well, Especially with all the bad weather flying around the planet!
I'm home today as I've just had a Dental appointment. After 5 injections and 1 rather difficult Wisdom Tooth extraction, I now feel a little rough!!!!!
Just putting on some Beef and Bean soup as this always makes me feel a little better (although the 500mg of Ibuprofen and Codeine helps!!). I feel like Mike Tyson has given me a smack in the Mush.
Just a glass of water and a couple of soft buttered rolls to go with the soup...Aaahhhhhhh. Perfect.:smile2:
