Hi,
Very wise, Ms Mod.
I was going to ask what they were like, but I ass-u-me that they're like a cross between plums and apricots (?).

I have a question, and I hope I don't sound like a dork, but I figure I should just spit it out.
Would a CD produced in Austria play the same in a CD player in Canada. I know videotapes were made for different zones and would not play in the wrong zone, so I am hoping to find out how it works with CD's. Does anyone here have experience in this area?
I really want to get some music by a couple of Austrian musicians, but it might be next to impossible to find it in Canada because the selections of World music are so limited here.
Can anyone help me with this question?
I am pretty sure CD's will work anywhere. My daughter buys CD's from Japan occasionally and we have never had a problem. Good luck!

The one I had was crisp, tart and juicy. Tasted more like a plum than an apricot.

Yes, Papa or Wolf... but I am still Wolf and you can call me Wolf if you would like. I just needed a change because of what is going in my life at the time period of chaos. Within stirs a war, but I have no more war heart of say a lion. I use to be hungry for personal war and battle, but as the love grows between me and my wife... I am losing my war heart and finding other ways to trick the demons. *Chuckles softly* Thank everyone for the welcoming again. *He adjust his cowboy hat and drops a sack on the floor with some mice in the sack* It is open Buckwheat, hope you enjoy! You are welcome milady Charms! I am still Wolf (papawolf0401) just with a new look.
Any word on Mama Wolf? Sure do hope she is all righ and I sure do miss her.

Thanks dragafari and mstay! I feel a bit better now. I managed to find only one Nik P. album online in Canada so far. I haven't even started to look for DJ Oetzi albums yet. At least I know I can order from the Austrian sites now. :biggrin2:
On another note, I saw my doc today. My blood pressure is up a bit, but I am in pain so that may be the cause. I look like chit today and my doc only renewed a lifelong prescription for 100 hundred days. Ick. I guess he wants to make sure he sees me again soon. I am exhausted. Maybe I'll grab a couple of cans of Rockstar and head out to snoop around the boards for a while.
In case anyone is interested, I made a big pot of vichyssoise today. Help yourself. I'll be barbecuing really nice steaks later tonight when the sun is not so intense.
Have a good day, all!

Hello, everyone. I hope everybody is perfectly OK.
You know what? I've got a little sparrow I rescued from the street a week ago. He had obviously fallen from the nest, and was unable to fly. He was not hurt, fortunately, but was so young that he could hardly move his wins.
So I took him very carefully and brought him home with me. At first it was impossible to feed him, because he would open his mouth, but finally we managed to give him some bread and water. He's still very little, but after a week he's already able to eat by himself. He's also learning to fly and he's very strong and full of life. I love him, and he loves me. He loves coming to my hand and rest in there, as if in a craddle. He's so sweet and cute...
I'm afraid I can't manage to post pictures here -and don't know why-, but you can see a couple of pics here (my blog):http://juguetesdelviento.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
His name is Solito, which is an affectionate way of saying 'alone'.
Hello, my friends. Well, first of all I do apologize for quoting myself, but I think it's necessary for you to know what I'm going to refer to.
The point is that I'm very very sad since last Thursday, when, after eleven days with me, Solito flew away. I know I should be happy -and I am, for him-, because he's flying free with his fellow-birds. But I miss him so much... He was so sweet and loving... I miss his coming to my hand and eat and rest or even sleep in it ... But I knew he was already strong enough to live his life and fly free. I knew a house is not a place for a sparrow.
So, last Tuesday and Wednesday I took him to my balcony for him to get familiar with the open air and the sounds of the world.. At first he was a afraid, and hide on my hand. I didn't want to force him, so I took him home again, and he seemed to be happy.
But on Thursday, I saw him by the windowpane, looking outside and cheeping. Then he looked at me as if he said, 'Let me out, will you?' And then I knew those were to be our last moments together. Despite my sorrow I took him to the balcony again, and, after some moments of doubt, he began cheeping again as he heard other birds in the trees around my house cheeping as well. So he flew out of my hand, first to one of my plantpots and then to the world outside. I began crying, both for sadness and happyness, because I could see him flying as a big boy, strong and self-confident. He flew around the trees, in front of my balcony, and then he went into a big palm tree. Then I couldn't see him anymore.
Some moments later, I saw some sparrows going out from the palm tree, cheeping, jumping and playing over the ground. I like to think that one of them was my sweet Solito, that had joined his family.
Now I watch the sparrows everyday from my balcony, and I know that any of them is my Solito. I know he is happy, and I'm glad he cannot know that I miss him so much.
Excuse me for being such a pain, my friends, but I needed to share this with you. Thank you for listening. And feel free to think that I' m so childish. I know I am.

I know how hard it can be to let go when you get attached to an animal (pet). Nonetheless, birds should never live in cages. You gave Solito his freedom back despite how much you would have liked to keep him. You did a wonderful thing and you're no doubt a wonderful person.

Hey Sweetie - the very same thing happened to me several weeks ago - I found a racing pigeon with a broken wing - had him for ten days - nursed him back to health and watched him fly away - it was very sad :(

Hi All,
Just checking in to see how folks are doing. Very impressed Gelata and Cola that you are helping creatures in need. Very nice.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Where did our patio go? Was it removed by some sort of a tornado? Did it get lost to over-devlopment? Was hoping to have a smoke and listen to some tunes out there by the pool. Someone please tell me we didn't lose the liquor cabinet and bar... could go for a margarita right now(rocks and salt).

So sorry to hear this news, timmers.
Here is something that may add comfort. Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Massive for sure, but I love it. They are giving me more training these days. Today I worked most of my shift in receiving and more senior members of the staff were out on the floor lugging around the stock. They keep throwing more bait my way because it was agreed that I be trained for management.
I might slip Cycle of the Werewolf in my purse so I can read it on Saturday at the farmer's market between customers. Other than that, I have longer shifts with longer lunch breaks at work this weekend. I can read there too.
Only one day off this week, alas..

My grandfather was 93 and we were having breakfast in his favorite restaurant. He always had 2 cups of coffee and a spanish omelet when he had a sudden seizure. He died later at the hospital. My mornings are now left empty without seeing him everyday. He was a great man.
The earthquake was a hard roll, but we have no damage here, just a lot of frayed nerves. My family is here, my house is full.

A Pets Prayer
If it should be, that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then, you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.
Don't let your grief stay your hand,
For this day more than the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We've had so many years,
What is to come can hold no fear.
You'd not want me to suffer, so
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me to the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you'll see it is a kindness you do for me
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Don't grieve it should be you who this thing decides to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold tears.

Shasta--I'm glad that you're alright. Glad your family is alright in California, too.
Spidey--So sorry to hear about your cat.

Thanks for that verse Dragafari. I held my dog's head a couple of years ago when I had her put to sleep because her pain was too great. It was the most I could do for her, to be there when she took her last breath. You brought tears to my eyes.

LOL... my husband picked up a book for me at the book sale table. It's by Kinsey. I pick up spy thrillers for him and look at what he picks for me. I guess I have some reading to do. *snide giggle*
I'd rather read Sai King. In fact, that is what I plan to do. Today is feeling an awful lot like a hollywood bubble bath day, complete with drinks and a book.
I think I'll just nick a couple of cans of coke and head out.
Hope you all have a great night. I still have much to do but it is bearable, I think.

It is with a sad heart that I return to the cantina to tell all of my friends thank you for your support in my time of need.
The funeral is Friday, so I guess that I will try to meet back up with you all next Monday. Love to all Tet Mates.

 Well Mates, this will be my last post for awhile. This cow-poke is going home. I lost my temper last night because of what my wife was complaining about. I hurt my wife and almost broke some of our stuff last night. I will admit I did lose my cool, but I just got tired of her taking away what I enjoy. If she wants attention, she could just ask me to get off whatever I am working on. Instead of throwing a huge fit that makes me angry. I am having selfish thoughts so I flushed all my pain killers but kept my antidepressants. I am thinking of my son and staying to my heart that I cannot give up when I see him or think of him. I am going to be going home to my rez. My mom has a spare room and a truck for me waiting. I am taking care of myself and I will be my family and a good friend that will not allow me do stupid stuff. Like getting drunk or snorting something... He says I have to be a good little brother. This is laters for now until I can get on the net again. Just know that I am in better hands and that I won't be hurting now. I will be with my family.

Hi, everyone! I missed you all so much. I've been vacationing with the family in Dublin, and came back to chaos!
I can't wait to catch up on all the news I missed while gone. I hope everyone's well.
Now that the vacation's over, I can focus on my bookmark, if it's not too late.
I'll spend the weekend pouring over posts, and I hope everyone stays safe and dry over the weekend.
Love, SusanNorton

A brand new week. Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Did you all have fun with POT? JohnD's newest acronym.
May the weather be kind to all.
There are fresh muffins, rolls, pastries, pancakes, waffles, eggs, cereals, fruits and a variety of breakfast drinks on the counters. Enjoy.
The critters out back seem very happy with the new delivery of hay.
Off to beanbag central. Come join me.

Good morning everyone, I have missed you all very much. I am trying to move on with my life, but it is hard. I keep having flashbacks to my grandfather having his seizure in the restaurant. My sister tells me that it has traumatized me and it will likely continue for a while, she says that I may never get over it. My family has gone home, and there is an emptiness here, but I am glad. I feel that I need to get back to real life, back to my schedule and back to the board. Thank you all for seeing me through this. I am sorry if I ramble a bit, it may take me some time to get back into "normal conversation" :bat:

You have to just board up the house and head north for the summer. Get the best of both worlds. :)

Sounds great, Cowboy. It's funny - an old friend from college and I keep trying to get together with our spouses, but our schedules are not cooperating. Anyway, he wants us to meet for dinner at the Melting Pot in New Orleans. He's never been, but said friends highly recommended it as a good place to go if you want to hang out and talk with friends.

Welcome back, poisonbat. Don't worry about trying to seem normal in here. Grief takes time. We are here whenever you need a shoulder or an ear, ok? A lot of us have suffered losses along the same line or worse. We will understand.

I cannot stay long. I have an EXTREMELY heavy work schedule this week, so I am looking forward to my days off on Wed and Thur. The assistant manager load all of the other days and made sure I get those off by marking them off herself so another department couldn't take them away. :smile2:
I think I will take a couple of those waffles over there and wrap them in a napkin. Mmm, and maybe a couple of cokes out of the fridge to go with them. See you later folks!

Good Morning, Everyone!
Hope all are doing well, especially Charms7 and fellow Texans.

Had to drive to the bustling metropolis that is Modesto, CA (apologies to any Modestans) for a meeting Monday and, having never been to the particular location, asked for directions in an email. Got a 4-word response: "Do you have GPS?" 'Spose I'll have to give in sometime, and maybe it's the paranoid rebel in me, but I don't much cotton to being tracked around the country.
Ah, well.
Has anybody seen Galli lately? And have we lost all our wolves? Don't see any of them around.
Large hot coffee please!

It's now late at night here. I survived my shift after hauling a** like crazy to get everything done, plus some. Once in a while at work there is an incident with a ladder. Usually someone has a ladder tip over and they are left clinging to the shelving in the back room while feeling around with a foot to hook onto the ladder where it leans against the shelf behind them. Today was my turn to be hanging off the shelving. *sheepish grin* Didn't do much more than twist my ankle but I am sure glad to be sitting in a chair in front of the computer now, smoking a coner.
I do believe I will make myself a nice pot of tea and go sit out on the patio in the dark. It is nice to just watch the night sometimes.

(((Poisonbat))), I know how you are feeling. You will need some time to accept that loosing a dear one is something natural and it has to happen sooner or later. Nobody lives forever. With time, that images that you cannot avoid now will slowly vanish and you'll be able to remember only the good moments, and you'll feel happy you could share so many good moments with him. It requires time, and in the meantime you will cry a lot. But work, family and friends are a great help.
