You won't need luck Kim... You already have looks and talent. Besides, everyone in your audience is likely to be sympathetic because they realize how much they'd hate to be in your place... I always found public speaking much easier when I remembered that part; These people want me to do well. But just in case I'm wrong, good luck.
Thinking of you all and wishing the best for you and your families. (((((All in need.)))))

OOhhhh..Cheyenne you say....never been, but what a wild ride I'm sure. I bet the pancakes/hot cakes/flap jacks are absolutely spectacular. Looks like we'll have to trade places one year. All the best on your goal, Cowboy I know you can do it! Also it's great fun for kids too..
Good afternoon mates!

Today I am planning to make soap again.... two kinds. First is a spicy one with coriander, patchouli and rosewood in it (B*I*T*C*H soap) and a foresty one with siberian fir needle oil and a wee bit of citronella oil as well (Enchanted Forest soap). The house is going to smell GOOOOOOOD later on this afternoon. I hope my husband does his work out in the shop today so I can crank the tunes in the house. I need music. MY music.

He looks around with a smile* For all those that have shown support and just... for ya awsome Tet Mates. My wife and I have a Calla Lily as our love plant. A few months ago I won six dollars on a slot machine. We were shopping and stupid me keeps asking her what flowers she wants. She told me I am suppose to surprise her! :oo: So I did when I showed up at the register to cash out I had a Calla Lily plant in my hands. She told me no, it cost too much. I bought any ways. Our plant took a trashing last month from the house of kids and pluse all the stuff we were going through. I have found it a good spot in the yard and it has made a big come back. I thought it was dead, but it is growing new leaves and sprouts every week. I found out my Golden Bells are budding. Sorry to ramble like I am. I was watering my plants last night and I saw all the new growth. I am happy that my dying peppers have made a huge come back as well. Still waiting to see what the tomatoes are going to do... So far it is just a brown stick and a greenish stick... Ack! :biggrin2: I am in a rambling mood!

Serving Size: 1
Purchase One Six-Pack
Open Cap... Have Fun!
I found it on a boat website-(totally irresponsible , I know- I suppose it is for the passengers only) because my husband, daughter and I are official 'BOAT PEOPLE - which means we bought an eleven ft. inflatable dingy(sp?) and went to the near-by lake yesterday and rowed around- :wink2::biggrin2: So it is official -we are BOAT PEOPLE You know, they are a different breed of cat. It means we have to be really laid back and a bit smelly and tan. We have to chat only to other boaters and not to any of those 'shore watchers'. We need to wear Nascar tee-shirts and sun visors or hats with lures on them.
All we need to do now is convince the other boaters that just because we were in a blow-up boat and rowed around in circles for an hour we are still one of them. And just because I hate fishing and Nascar and my husband was whining about the mosquitoes and my daughter was trying to save the locusts that flapped around on the surface of the lake we are still BOATERS!! Maybe if I buy a bumper sticker that says"Boaters do it better" ....
Anyway -have a great weekend all!!

Please know that I'm thinking of all of you and wishing you all well. I haven't been replying to requests for prayers and good thoughts, but I have been responding to them, if you see what I mean...
The boys are home for the summer and my time on the computer has become seriously curtailed, but I check in here at the Cantina frequently and read with sorrow about all those of you who are in pain or living in fear of natural catastrophe. So very many of you. It makes me feel helpless. I wish I were eloquent enough to respond in a way that was helpful... Instead I frequently find myself at a loss for ways to express how sorry I am that any of you are going through the things you're going through. Poisonbat and Henry and Skimom and Emma and Papwolf and everyone who's shared their woes with us... If thoughts and good wishes are of any help, you should all be experiencing improvements very soon. I hope so anyway.
I read in another thread that Irish coffee contains all four food groups (caffeine, alcohol, fats, and sugars)... Good, I'm glad I'll be having a balanced diet today. Oh, Oscar? An Irish coffee, please... Economically responsible, fair-trade coffee, of course.

I am happy to be here in the cantina this morning, I will have a large coffee, lots of cream. Kim, I wish I could send you some clean air, but I live in So. Cal. and we don't get much here in the summer. We also are getting smoke from up North. I hope that we don't burn up here over the holiday, people are so stupid when it comes to using fireworks. We usually get 4-6 fires out of the fourth of July. I just hope that it doesn't happen again this year. :bat:

Thanks folks. Since I have obviously missed out on a 1st edition hardcover, I'll just wait a bit longer for the smaller paperback to come out. (Easier to hold than large format...) Luckily, I have a merchandiser who deals with books and magazines looking out for me for Duma Key. I may break down and use the points on my store loyalty card and get the larger paperback anyways. I'll think about it. Usually I use those points for perfume and bubblebath.
It looks like we are going to get another scorcher today. Ouch. I don't mind the heat, but it turns my guy into a real bear. He'll be hiding out in the shop today.
I work later in the day so I can catch up on a bit of life first. I have a to-do list a mile long.
I think I will need to grab a latte before I head out to snoop around the boards.
Have a great day everyone!

It is hard to let our loved ones go. I sometimes wish it were like the old days when you married the nice boy down the street and you moved into the house 2 doors from your parents and his parents were around the bend and every Sunday everyone got together and ate a big meal and little ones tied shoe laces together under the dining room table and then the men played horse shoes in the back yard and the women sat on the front porch, sipping iced tea and gossiping. And you wiped whatever nose needed to be wiped whether it your child's or your sister's. And you tied whatever shoe needed to be tied whether it was you daughter's or you brother's son. And you all took turns taking Grandma to the bathroom. And their was yelling and joking and laughter. And all the cousins played with their special needs cousin and all the adults treated her as if she were their own. And if you got a headache or had to take a crap you could just say your good byes, all simple and without any fuss and walk on home, knowing you would see them the next day, or the next or , if a really busy week, not until the next Sunday. But you would definitely see everyone the next Sunday because that day was special.
Sorry, what a downer I am- going to see family this 4th and haven't seen them in awhile and , unfortunately when you drive 4 and 1/2 hours to see them you can't just walk home when you feel the need. And the cousins won't play with my daughter and her Aunt and Uncle are too busy finishing of the libations and making sure they get a bed all to themselves to take notice of her. And, on top of all that I have PMS! Great!!! Please give me a big slice of PITY PIE and a big glass of I'M BEING A TOTAL BIT** COCOA. Thanks-:oo:

Where is Mother Wolf? Sure hope she is all right, I would just about tackle her if I see her again.
My hip is still a bit sore, doc set me straight yesterday. I am sore, but he says I have a good strong back and I should recover 100%. I thought about not taking no pain killers today, I might have something to dull the pain at least. Tired of taking a pain killer and fall sleep. I wake up at nine pm and I am totally out of it. Wife has been watching over me. I have been more patient with her, it works better. I have been kind of grouchy lately. She said that it is okay but it is not okay to snap at her all the time. So I have been trying to simmer down. I tell her when to let me be, I hope I didn't rehurt myself playing volley ball yesterday. I will take a large water with some ice.

Greetings all Tet Mates! *Wolf paws into the Cantina. He sits down by a window and looks out for a while before he faces the room.*
Hope Cowboy and his daughter are doing good...
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((ALL TET MATES))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I am so glad to hear that you and your wife are figuring things out. I always said falling in love is easy but staying in love is hard. :wink2:
For your pain did you ever double up and take acetaminophen (tylenol) and ibuprofen (advil, motrin) together. Since they are 2 different pain meds you can- but I wouldn't on top of prescription meds. When my daughter had a super bad ear infection the dr. told us to do that. You can take them together and follow the directions from each (one might be every 4 hours and one might be every 6 ?) or you can take one and then the other 3 hours later than the other 3 hours later... Just don't forget which is which. I'm sure you know this but I just wish I could help so... (papawolf)
Where IS Motherwolf? Anyone know?

Tomorrow's is also my and my husband's 13th anniversary! Yay, he is taking the day off too so we will be partying it up with all you Canadians.:biggrin2:
I noticed in the google search tracking there was a search for 13th anniversary symbolism. Of later days it was lace , contemporary is fur (-yuk) or textiles(carpet?). The gem is moonstone , malachite (?)and citrine (?) . The flower is the hollyhock (that's nice). I think I will go get my husband a nice pair of lace undies. Or perhaps a moonbeam belt buckle? Maybe some hollyhock cologne? OK-anniversaries are so more for the wife!!:wink2:
Malachite is a stone with series of green and black stripes. They go off at different angles, I believe. The green varies a bit in tone, and the black varies a little as well. It's really quite striking to see it cut and polished.
Citrine is from the quartz family just like rose quartz, snowy quartz, etc. It's yellowish, varying from light to almost a dirty sort of yellow. It's lovely when it is polished.
Textiles can include clothing as well.
It'll be my 12th this fall.

Good morning folks. I think I need an Americano. A BIG one. There is not enough caffeine in my blood stream right now.
Today was supposed to be a day off, but I have to go in tonight for a while. It's inventory tomorrow, so that means I'll be going like a weasel on crack tonight. Yikes. There is still so much to do to get the store ready for the team that's going to blitz the place.
Hopefully there is no repeat of last year. *rolls eyes* (Warning... gross out factor...)Last year the team ate at the Subway restaurant and they all got food poisoning. The whole inventory team was puking out on the floor in the store, running for the can, and one member of their team even crapped their pants out in the store because the floodgates opened on him. It was quite the day.

My husband has made new promises of change to me. I so want to believe him, but I guess I will just have to wait and see. He has made such promises to me before, and never followed through on them. I wanted to get them in writing and Notarized but I felt it was a step too far. But this time I had my adult son in on our conversation. I usually don't include anyone in our discussions, but I felt that I needed a witness. Maybe he wont be so quick to change his mind and his ways if someone else is there to witness such "promises". I am guardedly hopeful. I'll have a large iced tea with lemon and some of that yummy ice cream. Ice cream is comfort food to me, and I need it today.:bat:

PoisonBat-
I sometimes think we have to treat our husbands like children (sorry all you hubbie-mates out there:oops:) and , instead of a vague promise of better behavior(at least that is what my husband does-he is great in a lot of ways but has his struggles with the beer beast) we need to make them give set examples of HOW they will change and set CONSEQUENCES as to what happens if they don't. Like- if my husband wakes up at my parents house with a hangover this weekend so bad that he is throwing up (:glare:) and out of commission for the day, again,THEN he is going to have to attend 1 AA meeting. No excuses , no crap- that is the deal!! I'm not fond of the withholding of S-E-X- for punishment as I think it is too -er-sacred(?) in a marriage to monkey around with but there are other consequences-like counseling, a weekend retreat to re-focus,joining a prayer group for men (my husband kind of got stuck doing this but ended up really enjoying it. They didn't just pray but talked to each other about their faults and how to change -unfortunately it has broken up for unspecified reasons -in was multi- denominational )and, of course- waxing of the chest hair - or inner thigh pinches(the really tiny kind that hurt like Hades):wink2:
But, good luck with all this. Hang in there. ((((PoisenBat))))

Well, this is a bit difficult for me, but I'll try. Straciatella is an Italian icecream, made with cream, vainilla and tiny bits of chocolate, and it's delicious. I think there must also be some mysterious ingredient that makes you want more and more... LOL
And the Crema Catalana (Catalonian cream) is a Spanish icecream, made with vainilla, egg, cinnamon , if I'm not wrong, and covered with caramelised sugar. And the mysterious ingredient too!

And, when I decided to come back home, I waited 3 hrs for the bus in the burning sun (more than 125F today)! Bus drivers on strike. I'm very pissed off, so I'm going to the beach to cool my head. And meditate about how my father can like Spain.

Thank you Volic, Kim, Mstay, Skimom, Eleese of Gilead, and Brownmouse. I appreciate your support. Brownmouse I did give him a consequence for not changing, it is divorce. This is not what I want, but it will be the final result if he does not start sticking to his word. I know that this is a harsh consequence but nothing else has worked. He quit drinking 5 1/2 years ago, but still looks at the world through alcoholic eyes. The drinking stopped but the behaviors remain. He will not go to AA, he needs to but wont. So far he has stuck to his word about minor things, but we will see what happens when his son comes home from his mothers. He did ask his brother, who was supposed to stay with us for 6 months while he got a divorce and has been here 2 years, to move him and all of his stuff out of the house. That was supposed to happen yesterday, but it has been put off to today. We shall see. He has been promising to move for the last 6 months, and hasn't. I am just hanging on to the threads of love, they are strong, but can break if I don't get some changes out of my husband.

I was saddened to see a message on the Administrative area that MotherWolf has deleted her account. I did not receive a PM from her prior to that and so I do not know the reason for this. I know she was struggling a bit when she last posted. If anyone has a way to contact her, please send my best regards and that if she decides to change her mind, there's a place waiting for her.

Today I went to the big city to the doc, the doc told me the medicine I need isn't produced in Europe, I'll have to ask for it to my country. I also tried to buy The Stand, but nobody sell it here. And, when I decided to come back home, I waited 3 hrs for the bus in the burning sun (more than 125F today)! Bus drivers on strike. I'm very pissed off, so I'm going to the beach to cool my head. And meditate about how my father can like Spain.
Have a great day everyone here, I'll look for my peace of mind.
I know how you felt! The busdrivers recently striked for more than a month in The Netherlands, it was HELL!:oo:

Buckwheat, I have a treat for you....
Good day everyone! I think I will have a couple of cokes to go. I don't get too much time on the computer today. At least until very late at night. My guy will be using the comp for work related stuff today.
Life is okay today. I had a hard shift at work tonight because the store is being inventoried today. I had to do some serious fixin' in a couple of areas, and now I am totally bagged. I am catching up on my laundry today and I am having a BBQ tonight. I might even snag some time to read some SK if I am lucky.
Today is my only day off this week. I just finished six in a row. Anyone have one of those massagers they can loan me for my aching shoulders? I'll trade for BBQ'd steak.

Now they sound even yummier(?)! I'll definitely have some of both.:biggrin2:

It was a good weekend. My husband's brother finally after 17 months moved out. :smile2::smile2: He was only supposed to be here 6 months and I have been fighting to get him out ever since. What a mooch. I am so glad that he has moved on. This was one of the many "promises" that I was given and it came true so one down 5 to go. We did not go any where for the fourth. I have a hard time dealing with crowds as well as going out after dark. So being in a dark crowd is not my thing. I have to watch my dog anyway, she gets scared of the noise and needs comfort. Thank you all for being there for me, sometimes you are the only people who I can come comfortably to. I will have a large green tea with honey.
